The two continued onward.
Soon, they reached the spot where Napstablook had originally been.
There was a puddle of jelly there.
"What is this..."
Murder covered his face, while Killer could barely stand to look.
After hesitating for a moment, Killer took out a bone and poked the jelly.
Suddenly, the jelly sprayed a strange white liquid into the air.
"What the hell?!"
"Hey!!"
Murder and Killer moved at incredible speed, dodging the splashing jelly.
After finishing its stint as a human sprinkler, the jelly actually began to whimper.
"No, no, no, no,
No, no, no, no,"
Murder and Killer exchanged a glance.
"...Are you Napstablook?"
Murder stepped forward to ask.
The jelly slowly stopped whimpering, seemingly trying to put together an answer to Murder's question.
"Don't come again,
Don't come again,
Don't come again,
Don't come again."
After that, the jelly no longer whimpered. It simply cried.
"This thing is definitely Napstablook."
Killer commented from beside him.
"I just don't know how he got so..."
"...Bizarre."
Murder finished for her.
The two took a shortcut, going around the jelly lying there.
As they continued onward, they didn't encounter a single monster.
Not even a Froggit.
When they reached the doors of the Ruins, there was still no sign of Toriel.
As Killer and Murder pushed the doors open, the figure of a flower abruptly appeared in the distance.
The two approached "it" and saw what looked like something lying in front of "it."
"Take███_it_away_?!"
The flower(s) did its best to communicate with them. Murder picked up the object it referred to. It was a small locket.
"Leave...█..???██"
"HahAhahahAHAHAHhahaahahAHAH!!!"
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
"Thank██thank you███. Thank you. Thank█. Thank. Thank█████you. Thank you. Thank█you. Thank███you."
The petals on "its" head began to fall off.
"Thank...? Help...help..me...me...help. Help. Help. Help███. Help█help. Help.-me."
The petals fell faster and faster, and "its" cries for help grew quieter and quieter.
"Help...help...help...help..."
Finally, all of "its" petals were gone.
Its head had disappeared as well.
Murder and Killer exchanged a glance, then put on the locket.
The two pushed open the doors and once again entered the region of drifting snow and ice.
Strange howls sounded along the way, accompanied by what sounded like countless feet trampling the ground.
Bang. A tremendous cracking sound rang out. That definitely had to be a tree trunk snapping underfoot, Murder thought.
Eventually, the two reached the bridge.
Rustling footsteps sounded behind them, drawing closer and closer.
"Bu-bu███ddy-ddy██ddy█."
Many mouths said the word "buddy" at the same time, startling them both.
Murder slowly turned around and discovered a bizarre, giant tire-like thing behind him.
Eyes of every kind covered the tire's outer edge, every pair staring fixedly at the two of them.
In the middle was a bizarre human face, with a huge eye-like growth sprouting from its forehead.
Below the face was a mass of teeth. Eating must have been effortless.
"Don't you██know████greet new friends██?"
"You███know not██know how to██████?"
"Don't you██████new█friends████greet████?"
"Murder...what's behind us?"
Killer's slightly trembling voice came from beside him. For someone so good at slaughter, she sure scared easily.
"A good person."
Murder's pupils turned red and blue as he readied himself for battle.
"Aaaaaah!!!!!"
Sure enough, when Killer turned around, Sanstrosity's terrifying appearance gave her a fright.
