"Your trip across timelines was a little more normal this time."

Murder stepped out of the white rift, with Killer right behind him.

"...What happened last time was because of interference. The timeline probably mistook us both for humans."

Killer explained.

The two followed the path they had walked countless times before, soon reaching a small patch of green grass.

A yellow flower stood there, his head lowered as though he hadn't noticed their arrival.

"Are you...this universe's Flowey?"

Murder was quite familiar with this guy. During one reset in Dusttale, Flowey had explained a lot to him, deepening his understanding of determination. He hadn't gotten rid of Flowey afterward, either.

"Something's not right."

Killer tugged at Murder's sleeve, signaling with her eyes for him to back away.

Suddenly, the yellow flower raised his head.

"Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee."

Eerie giggles came from the flower's body. Only then did Murder notice his face.

It was grotesque, incomplete.

His mouth stretched all the way to his eye. He actually had only one eye.

Murder and Killer instantly took combat stances, staring fixedly at the flower.

The two of them and the flower remained in that eerie silence. After who knew how long, the flower suddenly burrowed underground and fled.

Even so, Murder and Killer remained in their combat stances.

They could clearly sense that the battle wasn't over. Some eerie presence was still watching them.

"DIE."

A thunderous curse rang out, startling Killer.

They waited ages, but still no one came.

The two lowered their guard.

"...This place...is too creepy..."

Sweat appeared on Killer's forehead. She looked a little frightened.

"..."

Murder said nothing, but his pupils changed from white to red, which often happened when his emotions ran high.

The two continued onward.

Suddenly, Killer spotted the first Save Point in this world.

"Murder, look. It's a Save Point."

"...Uh, I can't see it..."

Killer was a little puzzled, but then indicated that she understood.

"Right, your determination isn't strong enough. You can't see Save Points."

With that, Killer wrapped her arm around Murder's waist.

"Can you see it now?"

Once Killer held him, Murder could indeed see a golden light in front of the stairs.

"...I see. So this is where that human saved."

Murder had sensed unusual fluctuations of energy in certain places before.

Every time the human died, they would revive in those places. Over time, Murder had come to roughly understand why those places existed.

Now that he had seen one with his own eyes, his understanding had deepened.

Murder recalled the ability Killer had displayed in ULB's timeline. Her hand had glowed with the same light as this thing back then. Had she been saving?

He didn't dwell on it any further.

Holding Murder, Killer reached out and stroked the Save Point.

*Null=var_(Save_text) Null Null Null ... Null Null *You are filled with [Swap_ADJ]

A flood of bizarre characters poured out of the Save Point.

"???"

"???"

Neither of them quite understood what was happening.

Murder stepped out of Killer's embrace and took out the device from before, but it showed no response whatsoever.

"This thing sure works great..."

Murder was so annoyed that he laughed.

Beside him, Killer wore a grave expression.

"I've...never seen anything like this..."
