"Sans!!! That didn't work at all!" Papyrus looked a little discouraged as he watched the two of them finish the puzzle.

Sans gave a rueful smile. "Aw, I knew I should've used today's crossword."

"What!? A crossword!? I can't believe you even brought that up!! As far as I'm concerned... word scrambles are unquestionably the hardest," Papyrus said confidently.

"What? You serious, bro? Those ridiculously easy letter puzzles?" Sans shrugged. "Those are for baby bones."

Papyrus couldn't believe it. "I! Can't believe it! Humans!!! Settle this for us!"

"Well? Which do you think is harder?" Linde asked Frisk.

The corner of Frisk's eye twitched. Stop dumping all the questions on me, you jerk!

"Uh... I think crosswords are harder?" Frisk finally said.

Papyrus raised an eyebrow (yes, these skeletons had eyebrows; see the pictures from the original game for details). "You two are so strange! Crosswords are so easy. The solution's the same every time-I just fill every square with the letter 'Z,' and I'm done... because whenever I look at a crossword... all I can do is fall asleep!!! Nyeh heh heh!!!"

With that, Papyrus went wobbling off.

"Heh heh... Papyrus... he doesn't really get the appeal. Yesterday, he tried to 'solve' a horoscope and got completely stumped," Sans explained from beside them.

The two said goodbye to Sans and walked on until they reached a table with frozen spaghetti on it.

The spaghetti looks pretty good. Who would've guessed it was a culinary disaster? Linde thought with a smile.

Beside it was a note from Papyrus:

[Humans!! Enjoy this spaghetti!

(Little do you know, this spaghetti is actually a devious trap... designed specifically to tempt you!!! You'll be so busy eating it... that you won't realize you aren't making any progress!! Thus, you'll have been fooled by the great Papyrus once again!!!)

Nyeh heh heh,

-Papyrus]

The spaghetti was frozen solid, while the microwave beside it wasn't even plugged in.

"Forget it. Come on, let's go." Linde nudged Frisk.

Frisk refused to budge, staring at the spaghetti. She really was hungry. "Linde, could you try using magic to power the microwave? I'm honestly kind of hungry..."

Linde put a hand to his forehead. With how determined she looked, it seemed she wouldn't leave until she'd learned her lesson.

Resigned, he tried sending the character for "electricity" into the microwave. Nothing happened, so he tried "lightning" instead.

This time, the microwave finally responded. It seemed to have a steady power supply now and could be used.

Frisk happily put the spaghetti in the microwave. After heating it for four minutes, she took it out, bringing out a plate of fairly fragrant spaghetti.

Huh, this actually smells pretty good. Does it really taste that bad?

Linde decided to try a little. Just how bad could it be? Okay, just a tiny taste. A little bit.

First, he picked up two twigs to use as chopsticks, lifted a single noodle, and bit off a very small piece to chew...

Even though he'd been extremely careful, he still felt as though his taste buds had suffered serious damage.

"Hmm... it doesn't taste great," Linde remarked, suppressing the urge to vomit. He wasn't about to call it good and have Frisk come after him later.

"Whatever! So it doesn't taste great. As long as it's edible!" Frisk snatched the chopsticks and plate from him and stuffed a huge mouthful of spaghetti into her mouth.

"Wait..."

"Urgh... blegh!" Frisk began retching violently. Even though the food she'd swallowed had already turned into energy, the lingering taste still gave her a glimpse of heaven.

"I was just about to warn you not to take such a big bite... that stuff's a biological weapon..." Linde was a little speechless. Was she really that hungry... stuffing that much in at once... she's lucky she didn't die...

"Blegh!" Frisk retched hard again. That mouthful of spaghetti had clearly done some serious damage.

Linde patted her back, secretly laughing to himself. It seemed she'd learned her lesson this time. From now on, she'd know to steer clear of Papyrus's biological weapons.

Once Frisk recovered a little, Linde handed her a Nice Cream from his inventory.

"Urgh..." Frisk took a lick of the ice cream and nearly threw up again.

Linde hurriedly steadied Frisk. "Keep eating, or that taste will just stay in your mouth."

After she finished the whole thing, she finally felt her sense of taste return to normal.

"Oh my... hah... God... Papyrus's spaghetti... it's just..." Frisk panted, looking at the spaghetti with eyes full of dread.

"I think you..." Linde was just about to speak when he saw Frisk pick up the nearby plate of spaghetti with murder in her eyes. "Uh... what are you planning to do..."

"You call this... 'not great'? You misled me like that... because you wanted to watch me eat it, didn't you?" Frisk's eyes almost seemed to glow green.

"No, no, no, I didn't..." Linde waved his hands frantically, but Frisk wouldn't listen. She charged at him, brandishing the plate.

Linde backed away again and again. "Hey, wait! You're trying to murder your own husband!"

Frisk froze at those words. Her face reddened, and her steps faltered.

Linde seized the chance to flee desperately toward Sans, who wasn't far away.

"And now you're taking liberties with me! Don't run! Get back here!"

"Sans! Help me-"
