Lin Jin walked up the mountain path. Unlike in the game, development of Crystal Peak was still incomplete.

The sprawling network of pipes and conveyor belts had yet to be installed. There was barely any heavy equipment in use, only workers and pickaxes-the most primitive mining methods.

Radiance awaited farther up. Lin Jin glanced at his companions.

Wyrm was the same as ever, as though his face could express nothing but majesty.

The Hollow Knight followed faithfully behind its King, its gaze fixed ahead.

Without pupils, it was impossible to tell exactly where it was looking, but Lin Jin was certain that if an enemy appeared on their left or behind them, the Hollow Knight would react immediately.

And of course, there was Grimm.

The Black-Winged Crimson Tiger Moth kept glancing around, as curious as a tourist at an amusement park.

Grimm volunteering to come along was certainly suspicious. For a moment, Lin Jin even wondered whether he was waiting for both sides to fight so he could swoop in and reap the rewards.

But ultimately, he was only an observer. Neither the Holy Dynasty's fate nor the Flame Capital's had anything to do with him.

He had never liked getting involved in other people's stories.

Bringing up the rear were Isma and Ogrim, two of the Five Great Knight.

As the only two mortal bugs in the party, their tension had scarcely eased.

They surveyed their surroundings with extreme vigilance, occasionally looking behind them. This was undoubtedly the most cautiously they had ever approached a mission.

Lin Jin, however, would have called it needless worry. His Divine Sense could extend at least several hundred meters around him.

If there were any danger, he would have noticed long ago. There was no need to go to so much trouble.
