Despite Hermione's repeated assertions that she would not help Su Er with his homework, in the end she still helped him finish all of it from the past few days.
Anyway, it was not the first time~
Su Er happily enjoyed his leisure, smiling through the final few days before the start of summer vacation.
The elementary school graduation ceremony began.
While performing in a long-sleeved lace costume, Su Er noticed that in the family section on the left sat an elderly man with a long beard and a small pillbox hat, accompanied by a woman wearing square-rimmed glasses and her hair tied up in a high bun.
Perhaps they were the parents of some other student.
Su Er's gaze only swept past them; what was more worthy of his waving back in response was little Angel, who today was wearing a princess dress and, true to her name, looked like an angel.
During the curtain call, Su Er secretly blew a kiss back to Angel, which thrilled the little girl immensely.
On the way back, Angel clung to Su Er's arms, giggling all the way.
Today Angel had come along with Mr. and Mrs. Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Ellison seemed to have some business and were unable to accompany them.
"Are Mom and Dad not home today?" Su Er quietly asked Angel.
Yet Angel did not know either; she had been dropped off at Mr. and Mrs. Granger's clinic in the afternoon.
"Strange, Mom shouldn't be not home at this hour." Su Er looked at their pitch-dark house, full of doubt.
He familiarly took out the key from underneath the flowerpot by the doorway.
The moment he opened the door, the lights turned on.
"Bang," confetti rained down from above, and Su Er was stunned.
Mr. Ellison appeared from behind and placed a hat on Su Er's head, "Congratulations on your graduation, my son. Also, happy birthday."
That's right, today was his birthday-and also the day he arrived at the Ellison household ten years ago.
"Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday to you~"
Suli carefully held a cake with a single candle inserted into it, singing as she walked out from the kitchen.
"Happy birthday, bwother." Angel smilingly hugged Su Er's thigh.
Oh no, tears were about to fall; Su Er kept his head down so everyone couldn't see, blinking his eyes as he squatted down to pick up Angel.
"You little rascal, you knew all along, didn't you." He gently tapped the tip of Angel's nose with his own, teasing the little girl into a fit of giggles.
"Happy birthday." Hermione applauded from behind, her smile blooming like a flower.
Suli brought the cake in front of Su Er and said softly, "Happy birthday, our family's lucky star, my son."
"Make a wish and blow out the candle."
Su Er looked around at Mr. and Mrs. Ellison, Mr. and Mrs. Granger, and Hermione; he nodded firmly, his voice choked up, "Thank you, Mom."
In the end, tears fell after all, and he blew out the candle with a strong puff.
Su Er had long known that he was merely the adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellison before him, but he had long since regarded this kind couple before him as his biological parents, and they treated him like their own flesh and blood.
Even after Angel was born, it remained the same.
In this lifetime, they and Angel would be the people he deemed worthy of protecting with his entire life.
"I hope that the people I cherish can all be well, healthy, and happy."
Summer vacation had begun, and after the break Su Er and Hermione would be going to the same school. Originally Hermione had set her sights on a girls' academy, but she changed her mind in the end and prepared to go to Eton College with Su Er; Mr. Ellison had the capability to send two children in.
Yet all of this changed in a single morning.
Early this morning, Angel was holding a letter and charged straight into the bedroom of Su Er, who was still sleeping in, familiarly climbing onto the bed, launching into a vertical jump, and delivering a Mount Tai press along with a loud, "Bwother!"
Su Er, who was getting ready to haul Angel out out of daily habit, saw the envelope in her hands.
His heart trembled, and his sleepiness fled entirely.
"Did you see the person who delivered the letter, Angel?" Su Er took the thick envelope from Angel's hands, a trace of trembling appearing in his voice.
"No, bwother." Angel shook her head cutely.
There could be no mistake; this letter was identical to the one he had seen in his past life.
This was a letter from-Hogwarts.
One side of the envelope was written in emerald green ink: "Manchester, Stone District, Lily Street, No. 445, Second Floor Bedroom Bed, Addressed to Mr. Su Er Bones."
So, my name was Su Er Bones? Upon learning his true name, Su Er fell into a momentary daze.
"Bwother, bwother, this wax seal is so much fun, it has several animals on it. And there's a capital H." Angel lay flat on her bed, from her angle seeing the envelope's flap just right.
Su Er snapped out of it and flipped the envelope over.
Indeed, there was a lump of wax seal bearing a familiar shield emblem, with a lion, an eagle, a badger, and a snake surrounding a capital letter "H".
Su Er stared at this crest in a trance.
Impatients, Angel climbed up, snatched the envelope, and tore it right open, causing a large stack of parchment to spill out with a rustle.
"Wow," she exclaimed.
Su Er Ellison couldn't help but laugh and cry as he gathered the fallen pieces of parchment together, finding the main letter.
It was the expected content, though an extra sentence was added at the end: a professor would be visiting tonight.
As expected, there wouldn't be that many coincidences.
Coincidence upon coincidence made it an inevitability.
It seemed this world was indeed the one with Harry Potter that he had watched in movies with his ex-girlfriend in his past life, and that dazzling green light right after transmigrating here must have been...
---the infamous Avada Kedavra.
"Su Er, are you awake?" Suli knocked on the bedroom door, saying from outside, "Your little girlfriend Hermione is here to see you."
Her voice was filled with a teasing tone.
"Mom!" Su Er shouted.
He threw off the quilt, lifted Angel off the bed, and after a simple wash, walked downstairs in his pajamas.
Downstairs, Hermione sat on the living room sofa with a worried look on her face.
"What's wrong, Hermione?" Su Er held a slice of bread, took a bite, and asked with slurred words.
"Su Er..." Hermione hesitated for a long time, full of sorrow, and said hesitantly, "I..."
"This doesn't look like you, Hermione." Su Er roughly guessed what the little girl was about to say, "Is it about not being able to go to Eton College with me?"
"Huh?" Hermione suddenly raised her head, "How did you know?"
"Since you already know." She lowered her head again, looking on the verge of tears, "I didn't want to go to that school, but someone came to that school yesterday and told me that if I didn't go to their school, I might..."
"So, we can only go to different schools, and I didn't want to, really."
"However, I asked, we will have holidays, and then I can come find you every holiday."
She lowered her head, chattering away.
Her words were full of guilt and reluctance.
If she had looked up at this moment, she would have seen Su Er's face flushed red from holding back his laughter.
"Is it Hogwarts, Sister Granger?" Angel trotted over to Hermione's side, pressing her upper body against Hermione's lap, looking up cutely with a crisp voice.
"Huh?" With red-rimmed eyes, Hermione raised her head in a shocked manner, looking at Angel, utterly puzzled.
"How did you know, Angel?"
"Because, Brother also received an admission letter this morning, Angel saw it. What kind of place is Hogwarts?" Angel asked cutely.
Hermione blankly shifted her gaze from Angel's face to Su Er's face, and Su Er finally no longer needed to hold back his laughter, bursting into loud laughter.
Hermione like this was a rare sight.
Hermione's expression turned from red to pale, then from pale to red, transforming into a dyeing workshop.
The teardrops hanging from the corners of her eyes finally slid down, as if the fuse had finally been ignited, and the Ellison family set off a wonderful play of a lion chasing its prey.
"Su Er Ellison! You're dead to me..."
The girl's screams and Angel's giggles echoed over Lily Street this morning.
