Zhang Chengdao learned that the ginseng roots Zhang Xiao gave Professor Sprout had become talking Ginseng Dolls, while Zhang Xiao suspected their transformation was linked to a mysterious beam of light. Elsewhere, Dudley earned a promotion in the Holy See, and Umbridge met with Rockefeller and Morgan as she pursued her master's plan.
Umbridge demonstrated magic to Morgan and Rockefeller, then offered them immortality through the Philosopher’s Stone. Convinced by her powers, the two men agreed to gather other influential figures to help pursue her proposal.
Umbridge took control of the manor while Morgan and Rockefeller secured a resolution for cooperation with the Wizarding World on terms they could control. At Hogwarts, Zhang Xiao and Malfoy discussed Moody’s combat training and Trelawney’s ominous prediction as the students gathered to hear the details of the Super Goblet of Fire’s third round.
Dumbledore announced that the Super Goblet of Fire’s final round would begin in a week, though its format would remain secret until it started. As the champions trained, their families arrived on the eve of the task, and Harry was left sharing an awkward but meaningful moment with Petunia.
Harry invited Petunia to revisit Hogwarts, and Zhang Xiao arranged a first-year-style tour that brought her childhood dream to life. As Petunia stood before the Sorting Hat at Hogwarts’s staged Sorting Ceremony, Zhang Xiao wondered whether his Celestial Magic had broken through his bottleneck.
Petunia and the Grangers were sorted into Hogwarts houses during a special ceremony, and the families toured the school before the champions learned the rules for the deciding round. The third round would scatter them across New York without wands or equipment and require them to earn money, find their wands, and reach MetLife Stadium.
Dumbledore explained the third round: the champions had to survive a week in New York without their wands, then find them and reach MetLife Stadium while blending in among Muggles. The champions arrived in New York, surrendered their wands, and began drawing random starting locations as spectators gathered at the stadium; Zhang Xiao was the first sent out.
Zhang Xiao navigated Clinton Park, used magic to earn a safer night’s lodging, and recognized that the third round would force him to cope with an unfamiliar and hostile Muggle society. As the other champions were dropped across New York, several immediately encountered the dangers of their surroundings.
Neville defeated a gang of thugs and agreed to teach them Loose-Hand Techniques for money, while Hermione found work and shelter at a dental clinic. Ron was whisked away from an adult establishment, Malfoy unexpectedly ran into Harry, and Zhang Xiao set out to find the square.
Zhang Xiao earned a large sum by performing magic tricks for Muggles, then defeated a gang of robbers who tried to steal his money. After learning that their leader belonged to a gang, Zhang Xiao decided to seek out the gang and take its money as trophies.
Zhang Xiao raided a Mexican gang for cash, but the Aurors told him the money was illegal to use, so he donated it to Project Hope. Meanwhile, Neville's Wudang lessons drew a crowd of paying students, and the chapter ended with his sect's leaders watching Zhang Xiao at the consulate.
Zhang Xiao decided to seek work in Chinatown after donating US$1.2 million, while Hermione secured a raise and Cedric considered a movie role. Meanwhile, Malfoy led Harry and Ron to apply for work at the Trocadero Ballet Company, where he was hired as a dancer.
Harry, Ron, and Malfoy were forced to perform in the Trocadero Ballet Company’s comic version of Swan Lake after signing a contract with a steep cancellation penalty. Their clumsy dancing unexpectedly delighted the audience, and Tory decided to keep them and give them a raise.
Harry, Ron, and Malfoy reluctantly agreed to keep performing their comic ballet routine for higher pay while students from other wizarding schools found work across New York. In Chinatown, Zhang Xiao met Wu Jiayou and offered to help with dangerous supernatural jobs despite being unable to perform Daoist rituals.
Zhang Xiao accepted Wu Jiayou’s offer to investigate the Wang family’s failed funerals and unexplained deaths, demonstrating his power to reassure the cautious feng shui practitioner. Wu Jiayou secured the commission and prepared to take Zhang Xiao to the Wang family manor in New Jersey.
Zhang Xiao investigated the Wang Family’s unnatural deaths and found monster energy clinging to the deceased. When the coffins burst open during the burial rites, he revealed the Golden Light Spell and subdued the risen corpses, while a hidden observer recognized his magic.
Zhang Xiao confronted a black-robed Southeast Asian Hexmaster who was refining corpses and commanding Ghost Infants. The fight escalated as the Aurors defended themselves against the infants, while Zhang Xiao attacked the Hexmaster and his corpses.
Zhang Xiao discovered that a Ghost Monkey inside the corpses had defeated his Corpse-Sealing Talisman, while the Tiger and Dragon Jade Pendant protected him from the black-robed man's attempt to defile his golden light. After the black-robed man recognized Zhang Xiao as Dragon-Tiger Mountain's Young Celestial Master, greed drove him to use a deadly Bloodlight Spell and begin a Soul Transfer Reincarnation.
Zhang Xiao destroyed Baiyin Chacai’s soul and learned that the Wang family had concealed an object connected to the attack. At the Wang family’s old home, they discovered a Three-Legged Golden Toad that Zhang Xiao recognized as a gift from his grandfather, though the message his grandfather left remained unfinished.
Zhang Xiao resolved the Wang Family’s Golden Toad problem, collected his payment, and spent his last days in New York sightseeing. As the seven-day stay ended, Hermione and Cedric left their jobs, while Neville watched a crowd gather at the new Wudang factory.
Neville said goodbye to his Wudang disciples and promised to return in three years, while the Super Goblet of Fire contestants wrapped up their Muggle jobs and began their journeys. Zhang Xiao prepared to leave New York, where Wu Jiayou came to see him off with dumplings from the Wang Family.
Hermione and the others reunited in New York and compared the money they had earned, while Neville gave his disciples’ funds back to their martial arts school. Zhang Xiao bought clues that led him to the Statue of Liberty, where he recovered his wand and felt his power surge.
Zhang Xiao reached the final stage of the tournament while the Hogwarts champions solved riddles to recover their wands and planned to regroup. Meanwhile, Voldemort prepared a vast army for war, and Dudley assembled with the Church’s Demon Hunters as they marched to fight supernatural forces.
Zhang Xiao faced the Aurors’ guerrilla attacks on his way to MetLife Stadium, then outran them after deciding to counter their tactics. Harry retrieved his wand as the Champions began their plan, while the Aurors prepared to confront Zhang Xiao at the stadium entrance.
Zhang Xiao reached the road to MetLife Stadium, where six Aurors challenged him to one-on-one duels. After defeating them in succession, he entered the stadium to a roaring welcome, with the Goblet of Fire still ahead.
