Bang.

A gunshot rang out, followed by screams. Frost, standing among the vampires, jumped in fright. He turned to find that Yang Bo, who had vanished earlier, had somehow appeared behind them.

Bang, bang, bang...

A string of gunshots rang out, and several vampires fell to the ground, turning to ash.

Only then did the ambushed vampires react and return fire. Yang Bo smiled at Frost in the crowd, then vanished from their sight again.

Frost couldn't help shouting, "Find him! Kill him!"

He remembered the man who had suddenly vanished in the Archive Room. It had to be the same person. Frost truly panicked now. He had no idea that Yang Bo's [Camouflage] skill had severe limitations: attacking with any weapon other than a crossbow or coming within ten meters would automatically cancel the invisibility, and even the simplest electronic sensor could detect him.

To Frost, an enemy who could turn invisible anytime, anywhere was far harder to deal with than Blade.

Who knew whether someone might slit his throat while he slept?

Suppressing his anger, he aimed at the spot where Yang Bo had disappeared and pulled the trigger, even though he knew his enemy couldn't possibly have stayed there.

Yang Bo smiled as he watched Frost cowering in a corner.

This guy might qualify as a Level One Vampire Baron. I have to finish him off with the Stake!

Vampire Barons carried the remnant bloodline of the Old Royal Bloodline. They hated everything and would attack anyone who entered their territory without hesitation, including their own kind.

In the game, they spawned in the Vampire Forest and could drop Pure Blood. The purity of the Pure Blood depended on the baron's level. Killing a level one baron yielded Pure Blood with level one purity, and so on.

Pure Blood was an important material for raising one's Hunter level later in the game. Yang Bo didn't want to miss this chance. Otherwise, who knew when he would next encounter such a high-level vampire?

Bang, bang, bang!

Yang Bo pulled the trigger again, reappearing before the group. This time, the vampires reacted much faster, firing a stream of bullets that struck his body.

[Camouflage] couldn't be activated while he was under attack. Yang Bo lunged behind cover like a dog diving for food. Fortunately, the workshop was cluttered with all kinds of junk.

"Rush him!"

At the command, the vampires charged toward Yang Bo's hiding place as though they had lost their minds.

Another burst of gunfire reminded Frost and his followers of the reason they had come here: Blade was still present.

Moving swiftly, Blade fired with a gun in each hand. Gunfire roared, drawing every vampire's attention to him. Holding a Silver Longsword, Yang Bo quickly closed in on a vampire.

His sword rose and fell, easily severing an arm and a leg. Before the vampire could scream, the Stake in Yang Bo's other hand pierced its throat.

A silver weapon could quickly reduce a vampire's health to below forty-five percent. After that, a light thrust with the Stake was all it took for its magical power to claim the vampire's life.

Yang Bo tore through them as though no one could stop him, weathering their bullets and forcibly killing seven or eight vampires.

As another bullet struck his body, Yang Bo's vision went black.

"He disappeared?"

"What's going on?"

The vampires finally panicked. Unlike before, Yang Bo had vanished right before their eyes while still under fire. Invisibility alone couldn't do that.

Frost's light brown eyes widened, and an icy chill shot straight to the top of his head. An enemy with both invisibility and teleportation was a nightmare he couldn't wake from.

"Hurry! Forget everything else! Capture the Daywalker at any cost!"

His only option now was to capture Blade and complete the Awakening Ritual to become the Blood God. Only then would he be confident he could survive Yang Bo.

Yang Bo opened his eyes to find his vision still filled with black, though this black surface had a curve to it. He reached out, gave it a pat, and said:

"Sorry, could you move aside?"

Karen shrieked and sprang off the bed as though her body had been fitted with a spring. Clutching her backside, she turned to stare incredulously at Yang Bo lying on the bed. "You... weren't you outside?"

Whistler, who had been watching the situation outside through the iron door, spun around with his double-barreled shotgun when he heard Karen scream. The sight of Yang Bo startled him too. He quickly lowered his shotgun and asked, "How did you get back?"

Although the angle had kept him from seeing Yang Bo fight, he could still hear the dense gunfire and the vampires' furious roars.

Yang Bo sat up on the bed, stretched a little, and smiled. "Just a little trick!"

"Move aside, Whistler. I'll go out and play with those little cuties some more first!"

He placed a Stone Button on the wall and instructed the two people in the room, "Whatever you do, don't press this button!"

Just before leaving, Yang Bo gave Karen a wicked grin. "Hey, gorgeous. Nice feel!"

He pressed the button, and the iron door banged open. Yang Bo strode out, leaving behind a blushing, furious Karen and a thoughtful Whistler.

When the vampires outside saw Yang Bo, they finally lost their reckless disregard for death. They raised their guns and aimed at him, but this time, none of them pulled the trigger.

Frost stepped forward with a complicated look in his eyes. "Stranger, this is between us and Blade. We have no wish to make an enemy of you. As long as you stay out of it, I can give you whatever you want, whether it's money, power, or even a long life!"

At this point, he had no choice but to compromise. No one wanted to face an enemy with abilities like these.

Yang Bo looked calmly at Frost. Honestly, aside from their fear of sunlight, vampires were a pretty good race. Drinking blood? That wasn't a problem at all. Humans needed to eat too. Most importantly, vampires had incredibly long lives.

If they used those long lives to research a way to fix their genetic defects and become a truly long-lived race, it wasn't impossible.

But the one thing they should never have done was treat him as food.

The Silver Longsword Blade had lent him lightly scraped across the ground.

"A long life? Heh!"

Yang Bo chuckled. "Enjoy what little time you have left, Frost!"

Ignoring Frost's ugly expression, he vanished from their sight once again.
