Hermione picked up a Basilisk Fang from the ground and handed it to Tom.
Tom understood at once. He took the Basilisk Fang and plunged it into the newly made Diary without hesitation.
"Aah..."
A piercing scream came from the Diary, and blood poured out of it.
Both Tom and the unconscious Harry grimaced in pain.
A moment later, the screaming stopped.
Tom's presence had also grown somewhat weaker.
"It worked."
Hermione spoke softly.
As she watched everything unfold, a flicker of satisfaction crossed her eyes.
Lockhart stood off to the side, his face as pale as paper and his entire body trembling.
He looked at the two of them, his eyes filled with terror.
The young man before him was actually Voldemort!
And Hermione seemed to have known him for quite some time!
He finally realized that he seemed to have been drawn into an enormous conspiracy.
He wanted to run, but his legs felt as though they were filled with lead. He could not move at all.
All he could do was hold his breath and desperately try to make himself inconspicuous, not daring to make a sound.
Normally, he wanted to be the center of attention at every moment. Now, he only prayed that no one would notice him.
But how could Hermione let him have his way?
She slowly turned her head and met Lockhart's terrified gaze.
Several days earlier.
At the scene of Mrs. Norris's Petrification.
"Begin the investigation and await the Class Trial."
With those words, the Ultimate Wizard-Hermione-left without looking back, leaving a bewildered Harry and Ron staring at each other.
As soon as she returned to her dormitory, she saw Ginny standing at the door, looking uneasy.
The moment Ginny saw Hermione, she rushed over and clutched her arm tightly.
