"Do you think he believed it?"

Tom Riddle looked down at the unconscious Harry, his tone amused, with none of his earlier theatrics.

The corners of Hermione's lips lifted slightly. "Why wouldn't he? It's the truth... though not all of it."

She took an object out of her robes.

A large sapphire set into a silver diadem gave off a faint glow.

Tom Riddle's pupils contracted sharply. He could clearly sense the familiar aura emanating from the object in Hermione's hand. It felt as though it came from the same source as him!

"Ravenclaw's Diadem."

Hermione toyed with the Diadem in her hand, her tone casual.

"One of the Horcruxes you'll make in the future. It contains a fragment of your soul, so of course you can sense it."

She paused, then continued.

"Ginny Weasley didn't tell you about this because she had no idea it existed. In fact, even now, very few people know you have more than one Horcrux."

A complicated expression flickered across Tom Riddle's face, but understanding soon prevailed.

He understood his future self. Given his personality and ambition, making multiple Horcruxes to ensure his immortality was entirely to be expected.

"What are you planning to do?" Tom frowned slightly.

"Make a replacement."

As Hermione spoke, she took out an ordinary black notebook.

She placed the Diadem and the black notebook side by side, gently passing her hands over them.

Ravenclaw's Diadem suddenly blazed with light. A cloud of black mist poured out of it, howling in agony as it slowly flowed into the black notebook.

Meanwhile, the light on the Diadem gradually faded, until it became an ordinary silver ornament.

Patterns identical to those on the Diary began to appear on the black notebook's cover.

Moments later, two identical diaries lay quietly in Hermione's hands.
