Following the Black man through the doorway, they discovered that Paimon had been right: they had entered "Magic Alley."
Who would have thought that such a shabby exterior concealed an entirely different world within?
They passed through an old-fashioned corridor, where the incense burners scattered throughout gave off a faint fragrance of Buddhist incense.
The Ancient One really was no pauper. These incense burners alone were worth a fortune, each made of red sandalwood. Just looking at them, Lin Ze could tell they were exceptionally valuable.
"This is my master's sanctuary," the Black man introduced the place to them amiably.
"Wow, this place is huge."
Paimon looked around, astonishment written all over her face. "I never imagined so many people could live here."
Along the way, they met many people dressed like their guide. Whenever they saw him, they bowed their heads in greeting.
"They're all my master's disciples. They came to Kamar-Taj to study."
The Black man continued explaining, "Every sorcerer here was taught by my master personally."
"Wow, the Ancient One must be a wonderful, highly respected sorcerer. Otherwise, she wouldn't have so many students."
Paimon sighed in admiration.
"Of course. My master knows everything. I've never met anyone more knowledgeable than her."
The Black man looked especially proud.
"Knows everything?!"
Paimon tilted her head. Lying against Lin Ze's back, she leaned toward his ear and whispered, "Could the Ancient One be this world's Nahida?"
Lin Ze shook his head.
If the Ancient One truly knew everything, then Lin Ze did have a question he wanted to ask her.
With a thought, he opened the game's quest log.
