"What do you mean, master and apprentice? Mona, stop taking advantage of the Traveler."
Paimon jumped in to protest when she heard Mona say that.
Mona was not upset. Grinning, she replied, "The Traveler and I did share a precious bond as master and apprentice. As the saying goes, a teacher for a day is a parent for life. Surely there's no harm in calling him my apprentice a few more times."
"Huh? Mona and Aether actually have that kind of history?"
Clint was not the only one surprised to learn that Mona had once been Aether's teacher. Everyone else was, too.
After all, they knew what the Traveler was capable of. As his teacher, Mona must have been even more capable.
Everyone present gained a new appreciation for Mona's abilities.
"Ahem, well, I think we should deal with the problem in front of us first."
Lin Ze remembered perfectly well how Mona had acquired the title of the Traveler's teacher. Back then, Mona had talked the Traveler into accompanying her to Mondstadt to challenge the successor of her teacher's friend. Not only had that successor turned out to be Klee, but Mona had also ended up accidentally reading her teacher's diary from her teenage years.
That incident had left Mona so afraid of "the Old Hag losing her temper" that she did not dare return, which was why she had stayed in Mondstadt ever since.
Still, Lin Ze was not one to nitpick. Besides, Mona really had helped him a great deal this time. A few jokes did no harm.
"All set."
Tony landed. His robots had already installed Dr. Selvig's equipment at the designated locations, anchoring the metal pillars to the ground. Erik turned the switch in his hand, and with a ripple of invisible energy, everything settled.
