"It's so light and thin that lining our Battle Armor with it wouldn't restrict movement."
Tim's eyes shone.
Watching the excited Tim, Miaomiao thought for a moment and said, "I think your earlier idea was pretty good, too. I could try combining mermaid silk with your Kev... what was that carbon stuff again?"
"Kevlar fiber?"
"Or carbon fiber?"
"Right!" Miaomiao nodded. "I could try weaving mermaid silk together with Kevlar fiber or carbon fiber."
That left them all stunned.
Bruce was the first to react. "Are you sure? The two materials have completely different tensile properties and weave patterns. Besides, these synthetic fibers can't serve as conduits for magic."
Miaomiao shook her head. "I don't know, but there's no harm in trying."
After considering it for a while, Bruce fetched the Kevlar fabric stored in the Batcave and set it before Miaomiao. "Don't push yourself. It's all right if it doesn't work."
Miaomiao nodded firmly. She felt the Kevlar fibers, carefully studied the fabric's weave, and asked Damian and Jason about the material's properties.
Miaomiao condensed water into threads at her fingertips, then pulled over a strand of Kevlar fiber. As her fingers flew, shimmering strands of mermaid silk entwined with the black Kevlar fibers. Her movements were quick and steady, producing a fine, tight weave.
Over the next few days, the Batcave became a full-fledged testing ground. Tim calculated the parameters for combining the two materials, constantly adjusting the ratio; Bruce supplied various Battle Armor components so Miaomiao could try different weaving methods; Jason seemed impatient, yet whenever Miaomiao racked her brains over adjustments to the weave, he would silently hand her a cup of hot milk or help hold slippery fibers in place.
As for Damian, whenever
