A place where Gotham's children could play without fear?
The words left everyone a little stunned.
Granted, letting all children play without fear was an amusement park's original purpose, the very reason people built one.
But this was Gotham!
In Gotham City, landmarks such as the amusement park, Wayne Tower, and the Gotham Television Station were the likeliest targets for villains.
The amusement park in particular-villains who still had some semblance of limits, such as Penguin, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and Catwoman, generally wouldn't go out of their way to attack a place where children played.
But villains like Joker and Mad Hatter considered it the perfect place to wreak havoc.
Joker, especially, thought an amusement park, where parents and children gathered to enjoy themselves as families, was the ideal setting for his "little games with human nature."
"Save one person or save a crowd?"
"Choose the parents or choose the children?"
He was obsessed with trolley problems that tested human nature, and considered them the most entertaining "games."
Besides, an amusement park and a "joker" were practically a match made in heaven, weren't they?
"Sir, are you really going to..." The staff member couldn't help speaking up. "That's Joker we're talking about!"
The mere mention of that name made him shudder. His eyes darted furtively around, as though he feared that terrifying demon might hear the summons and appear at any moment.
