Harley burst out laughing.
"Wouldn't it be great if we teamed up to rule Gotham?"
She could no longer pin her hopes on Hugo. He ruled Arkham, but he would never rule Gotham.
She needed a partner who was bolder, more unconventional, and more willing to act.
Jeremiah sneered, letting just two words slip from his lips:
"Get lost."
Harley brushed it off and patiently continued planning her next move.
Killing Ririko back then had only been a stopgap measure. The real goal was to use this "test subject" against the other "test subjects"...
Meanwhile, she could buy herself time to secretly seize control of Gotham's "shadow government"-
The Court of Owls.
Jeremiah turned his back on her, clenching his fists.
The sight of Ririko being intimate with Victor had sent the insane personality inside him crashing against the bars of its iron cage.
He uncurled his fingers. Four red marks lined his palm.
He walked over to a mirror. In the reflection of his amber eyes, that fire of rage was on the verge of erupting.
Ririko pulled Victor out of the bar.
The night breeze struck their faces, carrying the damp scent peculiar to autumn in Gotham.
"What's the 'Tomie Organization'?" Victor asked beside her.
"Just take your money and stop asking so many questions." In a foul mood, Ririko kept walking.
Victor's gaze chilled.
He reached out and caught her, planting his palm against the wall beside her and blocking her path with his hulking body.
With a threatening look in his eyes, he told her:
"I might not have emotions, but that doesn't mean I can't feel anything... You used me to piss off that redhead. You owe me an explanation."
Ririko looked at his deadly serious face.
