Although the Lizard-Lions were sizable, the Great Dragons' sharp teeth tore through them with ease. The dragons ripped them apart and swiftly swallowed the pieces.
Even the Lizard-Lions' hard skulls and backbones crunched between Little Balerion's and the others' teeth as easily as candy. Not a single bone fragment remained of an entire Lizard-Lion.
Dreamfyre was especially impressive. With her head as large as a small carriage, she crushed a Lizard-Lion's skull in a single bite, then picked up its roughly ten-meter-long body and slowly swallowed it whole.
Perhaps because the Lizard-Lions contained a trace of magical energy, Danyla could clearly sense the fluctuations of magical energy within Dreamfyre and the others becoming unusually active after they ate. It was like pouring a bucket of oil onto a blazing fire.
After swallowing an entire Lizard-Lion, Myracis soon grew so sleepy that she could barely keep her eyes open. She crawled straight beneath the Weirwood and fell asleep. Before long, Little Balerion and the others finished eating and began to grow drowsy too. Even Dreamfyre became utterly lethargic.
Seeing this, Danyla said to Walda with some resignation,
"Walda, it looks like we'll be spending tonight outdoors. After eating those Lizard-Lions, the dragons aren't fit to keep flying."
Walda had just returned with water. Though she did not understand what had happened, she asked no questions and simply handed Danyla the water flask.
"Your Highness, wash up first. I'll cut some branches to make a temporary tent. Nights in the Neck are fairly cold, and there are plenty of insects and snakes about. We should make some preparations."
Danyla took the flask and said,
"Walda, just fetch some more water and find some dry firewood. We can sleep beneath Dreamfyre. There's no chance we'll get cold."
"Besides, I've packed plenty of supplies
