Disregarding his health, the Old King traveled to Dragonstone himself and once more mounted his Great Dragon, Bronze Fury, Vermithor.
Three days later, on the afternoon of the fifth day since Danyla's disappearance, five Great Dragons and their riders descended on Bear Island together.
Besides King Jaehaerys and his Vermithor, there were Viserys riding Vhagar, Daemon riding Quicksilver, and Princess Rhaenys riding Meleys. Even Rhaenyra had come on Syrax.
After learning from Earl Mormo's wife roughly where Danyla might have gone, they set off without resting, mounting their Great Dragons to search north of the Bay of Ice.
Watching them leave, Earl Mormo's wife found her entire back drenched in cold sweat. They were in terrible trouble this time. Princess Danyla had disappeared while helping them hunt.
This was not a responsibility the impoverished, sparsely populated House Mormont could bear. From the attitude King Jaehaerys and the other members of the Royal House had just shown, the elderly countess knew that if Princess Danyla did not return unharmed, House Mormont might lose even its barren holding of Bear Island.
