Highgarden's Cremation Tower and Dragonpit stood on a hill beside the Mander River, southwest of Highgarden. With dragonstone supplied by Holy Flame Island and several thousand craftsmen and able-bodied laborers conscripted by Duke Tyrell to work day and night, construction had taken only a little over six months.

House Tyrell had privately purchased this suit of Fake Valyrian Steel Armor from Danyla for two million Gold Dragons. It was a favor she had granted them to bind Highgarden firmly to her cause.
The Cremation Tower was jointly managed by a dozen or so Dragonkeepers and Temple Priests. House Tyrell had also dispatched two hundred elite soldiers, who answered only to the Dragonkeepers, to guard it day and night. They dared not let anything happen to House Targaryen's dragons here.
