After months of drifting on their long voyage, time had long since worn away the novelty of sailing.
The long, tedious days at sea finally came to an end that day.
At the distant edge of the horizon, a swath of deep green slowly came into view.
The hazy outline of land unfolded, revealing layer upon layer of dense, unbroken forest. Unlike the mountain forests of the Sakura Kingdom, the greenery here was almost oppressively lush. Even across the distant sea, they could feel its vibrant life rushing toward them.
The deck instantly came alive. Everyone rose and crowded along the rail, their eyes bright with delight as they gazed at land for the first time in ages.
Gen slumped against the railing and let out a long sigh, his voice weary.
"Oh, finally! Land! Any longer on this ship and I'd have put down roots in the sea."
Gen had actually suffered from seasickness for a while too, but Li Xiang had been hit the hardest.
She felt a little better after taking medicine, but medicine wasn't a cure-all. With prolonged use, her body had developed a tolerance.
It had been truly miserable.
Luckily, she had a solution of her own!
I have a plan!
It had been a bright, breezy morning. Li Xiang had run out of seasickness medicine, so she turned to Kohaku beside her and said calmly, "Kohaku, sorry for the trouble. Knock me out with a chop."
Once she passed out and briefly lost consciousness, the dizziness would disappear along with it. Compared with enduring the misery, wasn't that a fantastic idea?
Kohaku could only oblige. With her strength calibrated just right, she brought down a light chop.
A second later, Li Xiang's eyes closed and she went limp. Kohaku caught her securely.
