The moment the door was gently pushed open, everyone in the room turned their eyes toward her.
Clutching the data she had finished organizing, Li Xiang had barely stepped through the doorway when someone gently caught her wrist before she could greet everyone.
She stopped in her tracks, frozen and utterly bewildered.
A young girl was holding her wrist.
Luna had lost all her earlier reserve. Her eyes shone astonishingly bright as she stared fixedly at Li Xiang, her palm slightly hot and her excitement plain to see.
Not only Li Xiang, but Chrome, Kinro, Yuzuriha, and the others in the room were stunned too, exchanging blank looks.
Before anyone could react, Luna spoke rapidly in fluent, impeccable English, her tone deeply respectful.
"Excuse me, are you Dr. Li Xiang?"
Li Xiang blinked and nodded in confusion. "I'm Li Xiang, but... Dr.? Why are you addressing me like that?"
At her answer, the light in Luna's eyes grew even brighter, as though she had encountered the object of her lifelong devotion. Her gaze was sincere and ardent.
"I majored in medicine in college. Before that, my grades were always terrible. No matter how hard I worked, I couldn't keep up, and at one point I wanted to give up studying medicine."
