Kiss for me!

[Someone said the protagonist had gotten weak and asked me to strengthen him. I have considered it, but there really isn't any need, because this is the last time these two fight.]

"I will never accept you! Who would call someone like you their brother-in-law?!" Yuri's cheeks were flushed, and he was visibly drunk as he fixed Twilight with a murderous glare. "Loid Forger, I've entered the working world, made something of myself, and can even afford expensive wine now..."

Yuri remembered how his sister had come home drenched in blood every day while earning money to send him to school. He didn't know what sort of job could get that much blood on her, but she must have shed plenty of blood and sweat... all for him!!

"...My sister has always been like that. She worked until she was covered in injuries just so I could get ahead in life. Back then, I made up my mind..."

Yuri clenched both fists, gritting his teeth with hatred for this unfamiliar man before him. His sister was all he had. How could he let anyone take her away?!

"I would make something of myself and protect my only living relative! Can you understand that feeling, Loid Forger?!"

"Can you understand how it feels to have the most important person in the world, the person closest to me, stolen away by you, some guy who appeared out of nowhere?!!!"

"Yuri..."

Yor was touched, but even more than that, she didn't know what to do.

She was touched by the sincerity of her brother's affection for her, but she was even more bewildered by the relationship between her husband and her brother. This was their very first meeting, yet they were already at each other's throats.

Yuri aimed his Great Desolation Heaven-Imprisoning Finger at Twilight. "I did consider that my sister might marry another man someday. That wouldn't be so bad..."

"But that man has to be stronger than me and better able to protect her!!"

"Can you shoulder that responsibility, Lody?!!!"

"Lody?" Twilight was completely baffled. Who was that supposed to be? Wasn't his name Loid Forger?

He must have been drunk, but getting this drunk after just one glass... he really was Miss Yor's brother. Their tolerance for alcohol was all too similar.

"M-my love for Miss Yor certainly won't lose to yours!" Twilight said with utter seriousness. "My daughter loves Miss Yor very much, too!"

Under the assault of those two statements from Twilight, Yor, who had never been in a relationship before, blushed furiously. She lowered her head, practically steaming.

She tried to reassure herself that this was only an act to deal with her brother, but her pounding heart simply wouldn't slow down!

"She's already an indispensable part of my family. Whether we're caught in a hail of bullets or a nuclear bomb is about to fall, I will protect her!"

Without a doubt, Twilight was an outright liar.

Yuri, whose intelligence had dropped below zero at the sight of his sister, was stunned by those words.

He actually said a nuclear bomb! If it were a hail of bullets, I'd be confident I could shield my sister, but a nuclear bomb... does that mean this guy is actually incredibly powerful?!

He actually believed it!!!

Even the glass in his hand fell to the floor...

He had lost, and lost utterly.

But he wouldn't give up.

"In that case... kiss for me. Kiss right here!"

"Huh?!" Neither of them had expected Yuri to say something like that. They were only a pretend married couple-the kind who even slept in separate beds.

Yuri pressed them relentlessly. "If you're married, prove it to me! Kissing should be easy for a married couple!"

Twilight's brain worked at lightning speed. At 0.02 seconds, he was still panicking; at 0.05 seconds, he had calmed down; at 0.1 seconds, he had made his decision.

That was the decisiveness of a top agent!

He had carried out so many missions and had countless women by his side, but he had never kissed anyone... still, if a kiss or two was all it took to complete the mission, he, Twilight, was willing!

"If something this trivial is enough to earn your approval, fine."

"Huh-" Yor's eyes nearly popped out in fright. She and Twilight rarely even held hands. If they suddenly kissed, she...

"Just like usual, Yor." Twilight narrowed his eyes and slowly leaned closer.

Yor's heart began to race. Seeing Twilight draw closer and closer, she grabbed the half-full bottle of wine left on the table and drained it in one go.

She simply couldn't do this sober!

But if she was drunk...

She pushed Twilight down and pinned him beneath her!!!

"S-Sis..." Yuri couldn't accept what he was seeing.

He was the one who had suggested they kiss, but when it actually came to it, he was the first person who couldn't bear it!

"Don't interrupt me, Loid Forger!" Yuri looked at Twilight, meeting his gaze with bitter reluctance. "I'm leaving my sister's lips in your care for now, but one day I'll take them back..."

"Honestly, what are you even saying?!" Yor punched Yuri flying again. After spinning 1,080 degrees in the air, he landed squarely on the table.

Looking at him, Twilight had no idea what to say anymore. Was this normal for the Briar family? Were injuries this severe just an everyday occurrence for them?

Yor supported the unsteady Yuri. Though she was drunk and swaying a little herself, she kept a firm hold on her brother.

In that moment, Twilight actually felt a little envious. The warmth of family and familial affection... how long had it been since he had felt them?

He stepped forward to support the siblings. "My, you two really are close. You've supported each other all this way, haven't you?"

"Thank you, Mr. Yuri. Thank you for protecting Miss Yor all these years. You must have faced many difficulties. From now on, I'll do everything I can to support her too. Let's both do our best."

At that moment, Yuri actually accepted this man, Loid Forger, in his heart.

But he stubbornly pulled out of Twilight's arms. "Wh-what the heck? Who wants to do anything with you?!"

"I-I'm going home..." Yuri hurried to the door, then turned back to glare fiercely at Twilight. "Listen carefully, Loid Forger. If you dare make my sister shed even a single tear, I won't let you get away with it. I'll have you exe-um, never mind..."

"Phew..." They both let out a long breath. They had finally made it through that ordeal.

He was about to say 'executed,' wasn't he...

Twilight tidied up the utterly wrecked living room and checked it over while he was at it. There were no listening devices anywhere.

It seemed they really had fooled him.

After tidying the living room, they returned to the bedroom. Looking at the bed made up for their romantic night, they both blushed awkwardly.

Yor: "Tonight, are we..."

Twilight: "Of course we're sleeping separately!"

"O-okay!"

Only after Yor was fast asleep did Twilight put down the book in his hands. The image of Yor and Yuri holding and supporting each other kept filling his mind, leaving him unsettled.

As a spy... happiness isn't something you should be thinking about, Twilight. Get some sleep. You'll forget about it tomorrow...
