Background / History

Yor and Yuri lost their parents when they were young. Their family was so poor that they could not afford all their school supplies, and Yor worked to support her brother’s upbringing and education. Yuri remembers her returning home covered in blood and injuries, without understanding what her work involved 49.

The siblings encouraged each other as they grew up. Yor praised Yuri’s knowledge even when it concerned insects, which frightened her, while Yuri taught her things and became more motivated to study. She later draws on this experience when advising Loid about raising Anya 39.

As the Thorn Princess, Yor becomes Garden’s ace and the highest-ranked active assassin. Despite that reputation, she keeps her occupation hidden from both her brother and her new family 2 41 48.

Outside work, she worries that her instinctive thoughts about killing will expose her identity 5 8.

Her protectiveness is especially intense toward Anya and Yuri. She struggles to suppress murderous impulses when Murdoch Swan makes Anya cry, and she attacks Karen immediately upon finding him standing over her injured brother. In public, however, she consciously restrains herself from killing Anya’s abductors because there are witnesses 13 14 19 45 46.

Yor is insecure about her ability to be an ordinary mother. She calls herself useless after Anya’s abduction attempt and the loss of their groceries, but Anya’s admiration helps her recognize that her strength can benefit the family. She is inexperienced in romance and easily embarrassed by Loid’s declarations of affection. Joining the Forger Family

• At a clothing store, Yor considers inviting Loid to a government dinner. Anya’s demand for a mother prompts him to claim that his wife died two years earlier, clearing the way for Yor’s request that he act as her boyfriend 8.
• By Eden Academy’s entrance examination, Yor is presented as Loid’s new wife and participates in the family’s rehearsed behavior 10.

Anya’s Admission & School Life
