Just a moment earlier, when Richie saw Si Ang walk up to the teacher without opening his drawing, he assumed Si Ang definitely wouldn't look at what he'd drawn.
He hadn't expected Si Ang to be keeping an eye on him the whole time. The moment Richie closed his eyes, Si Ang took out a drawing he'd prepared beforehand, replacing Richie's original before handing it to the teacher.
Whatever Richie had drawn, Si Ang had never intended to give that drawing to the teacher.
But when he opened it, he was stunned.
Was the person in this drawing him?
The moment he saw that the person in the drawing was himself, no one could tell from Si Ang's deep eyes what was going through the mind inside that small body.
No one saw the unfathomable look that flashed through Si Ang's eyes before it softened into a gentle gleam.
He smiled faintly, and that smile was like a beam of light dispersing the darkness.
He quietly hid the drawing among a stack of drawing paper, carefully tucking it away to treasure.
Looking at Richie, who was still slacking off, Si Ang walked over with a smile and gently called his sleeping soul awake:
"Richie, wake up. We have to go to the next classroom. We still need to practice the flower umbrella dance."
Richie struggled to open his eyes, then reluctantly dragged his easel along as he followed Si Ang.
On the way, Si Ang casually asked, "Richie, the sports meet is in half a month. There are individual events, and apparently the winners can earn a star."
Richie nodded. "I know, but students from every grade compete together in the individual events. We first-years don't have an advantage, so why bother thinking about it?"
Si Ang was momentarily speechless.
