Yun Huang recalled how Yun Si adopted Yun Qing and made Ji Huang call him elder brother, then set out for the Netherworld Ghost Realm with Qing Kitty and Little Radiant Chick. An old memory stopped him at the passage, leaving the three frozen in place as the story returned to Yun Qing and Ji Huang’s awkward encounters in the Ji Clan.
Ji Huang punished a Ji Clan elder for plotting to harm Yun Qing, then Yun Huang emerged from his memories on the Immortal Path, halted by recollections of their first meeting and their later encounter. He stood with only two footprints behind him, unable to move for an hour.
Yun Qing overcame his hesitation and called Yun Si “Mother,” and she accepted him warmly. Later, after the Ji Clan targeted him over Ji Huang’s punishment of an elder, Yun Qing went to Yun Si to complain.
After Yun Qing told Yun Si that the Ji Clan Elders had humiliated him, she took him to the Ancestral Shrine and entered him into the Ji Clan’s main-lineage Genealogy as Ji Shuo. She silenced the Elders’ objections and left them to reckon with her authority as a Dao Lord.
Yun Si entered Yun Qing into the Ji Clan genealogy as Ji Shuo, leaving Ji Huang privately irritated but unwilling to challenge her decision. The family shared a quiet tea until Ji Bingqian and several Ji Clan elders arrived at the Immortal Abode.
Ji Bingqian visited Yun Si and wrongly assumed she had added Yun Qing to the Ji Clan Genealogy out of jealousy over another woman. Yun Si dismissed him and criticized his cultivation, while Yun Qing and Ji Huang quietly bonded over their shared bewilderment at their father.
Yun Si explained that her marriage to Ji Bingqian had been a strategic alliance between their clans, but Ji Bingqian revealed he had mistaken her sacrificial dance and proposal for proof that she loved him. The chapter left Yun Si disgusted by his misunderstanding and dismissing him as a useless fool.
Yun Si took Yun Qing and Ji Huang away from the Ji Clan after rejecting Ji Bingqian’s attempt to strike her. The Ji Clan elders then encouraged Ji Bingqian to pursue other women, and he began to reconsider his marriage.
Ji Bingqian’s elders schemed to arrange more matches for him, while Yun Si decided the Ji Clan no longer belonged in her plans. Yun Huang continued across the Netherworld passage as Ji Shuo’s past breakthrough to Immortal King came back to him.
Yun Qing discussed his sword practice with Yun Si and Ji Huang, showing them his Spirit Sword, Azure Jade. Yun Si advised him on becoming part of this world, while Yun Qing wondered why Ji Huang was delaying his breakthrough; the gathering ended with Yun Qing tasting a delicious Vermilion Fruit.
Ji Huang broke through to the mid-Immortal Venerable Realm and attained the Emperor Lingxiao Dao, while Yun Qing reached the middle stage of the Immortal King Realm. Yun Qing recognized that Ji Huang had attained the same Dao as Yun Si, and Ji Huang sensed that Yun Si had already reached the true Dao Lord Realm.
Ji Huang recognized the Dao aura of his mother, Immortal Emperor Yuanhuang, and accepted that they might one day clash over the Great Dao. The chapter revealed that the eight directions divine platforms had secretly allied to seize Ji Huang’s Solar God Bloodline, leading to their ambush of Yun Si at the Wei River.
Yun Si and Yun Qing traveled to the Yun Clan to celebrate the birth of Yun'e and the First Elder’s son, whom Yun Si named Yun Che. Their journey was interrupted when an enemy ambush overturned the Wei River and summoned eight Divine Platforms.
The Eight Directions Divine Platforms ambushed Yun Si with two Dao Lords and dozens of Immortal Venerables, intending to kill her before Ji Huang could rise and claim the Radiant Sun divine blood. Yun Si began overpowering their formation, while Yun Qing realized the attackers knew Ji Shuo was with her and might target him as her weakness.
Ji Huang prepared two new spiritual dishes to share with his mother and Yun Qing, unaware that Yun Si and Yun Qing had been ambushed at the Wei River. Yun Si held off two Dao Lords and a formation of Immortal Venerables, but the battle left the Cloud Valor Guards badly wounded and Yun Qing in danger.
Yun Qing was captured by a hidden third Dao Lord while Yun Si was trapped fighting two others in the Eight Gods Annihilation Formation. The skeletal elder used Yun Qing as a hostage, forcing Yun Si to halt her assault as the attackers threatened his life.
Yun Qing sacrificed himself by activating the Spirit-Devouring Curse Formation so he would not remain a hostage and burden Yun Si. After his body and soul vanished, Yun Si was left grieving as Heavenly Origin rejected his true spirit.
Yun Qing’s death drove Yun Si to destroy two of the Eight Directions Divine Platforms’ Dao Lords, but the battle and her search through the World Sea left her mortally injured. After Yun Si died, Ji Huang endured the threats against him and eventually became Immortal Emperor Yuanhuang, awakening from his memories in Heaven Beyond Heaven.
As Yun Huang’s memories and Gui Lingyue’s dream-weaving restored the last fragments of Yun Qing’s past, Yun Qing relived his existence as a little black clump of primordial qi in the Chaos Sea. The crystal completed his memories, and he finally heard the voices that had once guided him toward rebirth.
Yun Che and the Yun Clan elders tried to summon Yun Si through the Soul-Tracing Secret Rite, but she did not respond, leaving their plan to guide Immortal Emperor Yuanhuang into reincarnation in jeopardy. Yun Che chose to attempt the costly rite once more, while a little black mass of qi drifted closer to the formation’s light beneath the clan.
Yun Che and the Yun Clan elders attempted to revive Lady Sovereign Yun Si, but the Soul-Tracing Secret Rite instead brought forth her adopted son Ji Shuo, reborn as a newborn named Yun Qing. Yun Si’s presence vanished after naming him, leaving Yun Che to wonder who would raise the child.
Yun Qing regained his lost memories and realized Yun Si was missing after restoring them, but the Immortal Court Seal could not reach Brother Huang. He found his younger relatives unconscious and began waking them so they could help him search the Ghost Realm.
Yun Qing gathered the Yun Clan and hurried toward the Nether River, while Yun Huang was blocked from entering the Ghost Realm again and forced to revisit memories of his past. The memories revealed how Azure Jade became the Immortal Court’s ceremonial sword.
Yun Huang realized Yun Si had likely been preventing him from entering the Ghost Realm, but the Netherworld Path vanished when he tried to cross it, and Yun Qing did not answer his calls. Concluding that the Ghost Realm had sealed itself off, Yun Huang set out for the Heavenly Origin Western Territory to open another way in.
Yun Si watched Gui Lingyue perform a ghost opera as they discussed whether he had carried out her plans, while Yun Ruyi tried to keep Lin Muyao from seeing the ghost too clearly. The performance abruptly stopped at its most beautiful moment.
