Background / History

The Luo Household was once among the foremost lineages of the Divine Thunder Emperor Domain. One ancestor reached the Mahayana Emperor Realm and ascended to the Immortal Realm, but the household subsequently declined. When Bingyao was a child, the Water Flood Dragon Clan coveted its ancestral treasures and massacred her family 845.

Bingyao later retaliated by slaughtering the Water Flood Dragon Clan, accumulating a heavy karmic burden. Daoist Thunder Dragon, a surviving enemy at the sixth layer of Body Integration, pursued her while she was preparing to enter Void Refinement 845 846.

He Pingsheng offered to protect her breakthrough if she became his disciple. He openly acknowledged that her extraordinary fortune would also benefit him without diminishing her own. With no better option, she knelt and kowtowed nine times to accept him as her master 847.

After her tribulation, He Pingsheng entrusted her with his true surname and origins, taught her rare divine-sense methods, and lent her a powerful travel treasure. He subsequently gave her a Karmic Purification Pill that completely removed her existing karmic burden, while warning her against killing innocents 849 850.

Personality

Bingyao is proud, competitive, and eager for recognition. She resents remaining unknown while her master becomes famous and repeatedly seeks opportunities to test herself against stronger opponents. Her confidence can become arrogance: she captures Kong Jiaojiao simply because she wants a large peacock as a mount, prompting He Pingsheng to rebuke her for abusing her gifts 1306 1324.

She is quick-witted and mischievous rather than merely impulsive. In Immortal Emperor City, she feigns an attack to provoke Xin Baobao into striking first and violating the city’s rules. She also spots potential loopholes in the Golden Feather Gathering’s Ice Bee contest, although she denies intending to cheat herself 1331 1353.

Her attachment to He Pingsheng combines affection, dependence, possessiveness, and romantic desire. Having lost her family, she initially describes him as a father and refuses to ascend without him. Later, she admits that she wants to defeat him so she can become his wife. Her protectiveness also makes her volatile toward people who insult him or approach him romantically 965 1309 1456 1618.

Despite her bravado, she fears abandonment. After wisdom severance, she cries that He Pingsheng may no longer value her; he reassures her that he will always protect her. Her wounded pride later drives her search for a way to restore her Wisdom Root 1873 2206.

Void Spirit Root

Her Void Spirit Root grants exceptional cultivation speed and remains useful after spirit roots would ordinarily cease to determine an immortal’s advancement 867 1324.
