An old man emerged from a coffin asking who had connected the Underworld layers, then vanished into a vortex after learning Wang Quan was in the Second Layer.

• The ghost gods of the Second Layer beat the ox-monster ghost god, destroyed his head, and threw his body into City No. 95.
• The ox-monster ghost god fashioned a stone head and warned that more than a thousand enormous ghost gods lived in the Second Layer and obeyed Wang Quan.

• The connection between the Underworld layers increased the Qi of Idiocy and Spirit Lacquer in Stone City, strengthening its inhabitants.

• Mei Niang summoned Multi-Barreled Artillery Evil, fought the native artillery, and used the All-Heavens Banner as the Third Layer's Evil pressed the battle line.

With the Era Cataclysm less than a thousand years away, Wang Quan refused to wait until the city was stronger, though the ghost god saw the coming era change as a chance to become its king.

• Wang Quan reassured the Stone Bull Ghost God, left him in charge of the Manor, and departed as the ghosts and monsters began expanding it.

• Ruo Jinghong, Mei Niang, and the other cultivators struggled to fight off evil creatures and keep their little sun alight.
• Wang Quan arrived, and the cultivators admitted they had failed to establish a safe zone or deal with the pavilion's defenses.
• Wang Quan's [Self-Crossing Scripture] spear struck a shield wielded by the creature on the pavilion door, but failed to harm it.
• Wang Quan learned that the door creature had deserted the army of the [Yin and Yang Bird-Head King] and could not be reached by the others' methods.

Wang Quan brought the Fire Mulberry Tree into the Third-Layer World to overpower the Evils in the pavilion and punish Door Panel Evil. As his pain-enhanced fire whips tormented the Evil and spread agony through the pavilion, Door Panel Evil’s former supporters turned against him.

• Wang Quan failed to pull Door Panel Evil from the door, so he bound him with a chain and returned to the Real World.
• Wang Quan summoned the Monsters, then carried the Fire Mulberry Tree through the Second-Layer World and into the Third-Layer World, where its flames burned back the darkness and Evils.
• Wang Quan gathered Ruo Jinghong and the others onto the tree and attacked the three-story pavilion while they fought its defenses.
• Wang Quan whipped Door Panel Evil with branches empowered by the [Divine Mother of Pain], making the pain spread through the pavilion to every Evil.
• The Evils turned on Door Panel Evil, demanded that he leave, and declared that he was no longer their hero.

Wang Quan and the cultivators tried to subdue the Evil tower and establish a safe zone, using the Fire Mulberry Tree, chained Monsters, and the People-Crossing Scripture. As the tower and its remaining Evils resisted, Wang Quan left to find helpers, hoping to secure the area in three to five months instead of centuries.

• Door Panel Evil was thrown out of the tower, and its occupants begged Wang Quan to stop whipping them.
• Wang Quan used the Fire Mulberry Tree and leaf-cloaked Monsters to bind the tower and hold it in place.
• Wang Quan and the cultivators chanted the People-Crossing Scripture while the Fire Mulberry Tree burned and lashed the Evil tower.
• Many Evils fled the tower, weakening it, while those native to it stayed behind and vowed to endure.

Wang Quan promised to establish a safe zone in the Polar Lands within a few months, then traveled to White Land to hire help. Beitang Xue said his Green Fly Coins could pay for the work, but the coordinates were too dangerous for White Land’s cultivators to handle.

• Wang Quan told Ruo Jinghong and the others he would establish a Polar Lands safe zone in three to five months using portable safe-zone buildings or the Great Sun.
