Chapters 401–425 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 401Abyss Demon Domain

Lu Feng fought his way across a monster-infested sea while carrying the gravely weakened Gu Xijue, relying on the Rusty Sword and the Five Directional Banners to survive. After nearly twenty more days at sea, he reached an island in the Abyss Demon Domain and landed cautiously despite the many Monster Beasts there.

  • A crocodile-headed, turtle-bodied Monster Beast attacked Lu Feng, but he killed it with the Rusty Sword and fled before other beasts could gather to feed.
  • Lu Feng struggled to keep Gu Xijue stable while his True Qi was drained by her condition, the monsters, and the black thing on his back.
  • He continued across the sea, repeatedly killing attacking Monster Beasts and hoping not to encounter one at the Quasi-Saint level.
  • After nearly ten more days, Lu Feng spotted what looked like an island and cautiously confirmed it was land inhabited by many Monster Beasts.
  • Lu Feng flew onto the island with Gu Xijue and chose a spot that appeared relatively safe.

Ch. 402Kill

The White-Haired Man ordered White Gold to intercept Gu Xijue while advancing a hidden plot involving the Black Tortoise Venerable’s residence. Meanwhile, Lu Feng escaped a cave full of demon rats on an island, only to face a charging Three-Headed Tiger.

  • The White-Haired Man learned that Gu Xijue had stolen the Five-Colored Ganoderma and ordered White Gold to send the Kunlun Immortal Realm force after her.
  • The White-Haired Man explained that Gu Xijue was an important chess piece and hinted that his true enemy would soon appear.
  • The White-Haired Man told White Gold to prepare Yellow Earth, Red Fire, Blackwater, and Green Wood, then flew off to bid farewell to the Black Tortoise Venerable.
  • Lu Feng fought through swarms of demon rats on the island, using the Rusty Sword and Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner as he struggled to escape their cave.
  • Lu Feng burst out into daylight, but a Three-Headed Tiger charged down from a higher cliff.

Ch. 403An Idea

Lu Feng fled the Rat Demons by climbing the mountain, but the Three-Headed Tiger chased him into its cave. Injured and nearly out of strength, he knocked down the tiger cub and came up with an idea after hearing its mother roar.

  • The Three-Headed Tiger attacked the Rat Demons, giving Lu Feng a chance to escape uphill with Gu Xijue.
  • Lu Feng reached a cave on the cliff, but the Three-Headed Tiger spotted him and charged after him.
  • Lu Feng entered the cave and found a young three-headed tiger inside as its mother approached the entrance.
  • Lu Feng sent out the Rusty Sword, but the adult tiger blocked it with its Divine Abilities and struck him with a stone pillar.
  • The Withered Wood Rejuvenation Cultivation Technique began circulating as Lu Feng’s strength failed, but he used the Fight-to-the-Death Divine Art to knock down the cub and then formed an idea.

Ch. 404Even more confused

Lu Feng killed the adult and cub Three-Headed Tigers to escape the cave, then woke beside the recovering Fenfen Chengkuai and watched Gu Xijue fight. The high priest brought Meng Jiu to face Lu Feng in purgatory, leaving Lu Feng confused about what the high priest wanted.

  • Lu Feng tortured the little Three-Headed Tiger and used it to lure its mother into the Rusty Sword, killing both tigers before hiding with Fenfen Chengkuai in a deep pit.
  • Lu Feng dreamed he married Su Yuexi, who changed into Su Yuexin, then woke and found Fenfen Chengkuai breathing steadily.
  • Lu Feng saw Gu Xijue break the Five Elements Formation while fighting her opponents, but hesitated to flee without her protection.
  • The high priest brought Meng Jiu to Lu Feng and said he would have to fight him.
  • Meng Jiu recognized Lu Feng as the man who had injured him at the Ancestor God Sacrifice and faced him with hatred and fighting spirit.

Ch. 405Unable to believe it

Lu Feng tried to protect himself and the unconscious Fenfen Chengkuai on the island, but after she woke and confronted him, the story shifted to his unexpected rematch with Meng Jiu. Lu Feng was stunned when Meng Jiu proved far faster and stronger than before.

  • Lu Feng restrained himself from taking advantage of the unconscious Fenfen Chengkuai, carried her out of the hollow, and settled her on a stone bed.
  • Worried that other monster beasts would discover the Three-Headed Tiger was dead, Lu Feng fed Fenfen Chengkuai pills, cooked tiger meat, and smeared the tiger's scent over himself.
  • Lu Feng ran down the mountain and used the Rusty Sword to kill the rat demons, but Fenfen Chengkuai woke and grabbed him by the throat, demanding an explanation.
  • Lu Feng began explaining what had happened since they met at the Panshen Heavenly Palace, then assessed Meng Jiu as an opponent who should still be weaker than him.
  • Meng Jiu declared that he had trained for a year to defeat Lu Feng, then struck him with startling speed and power, leaving Lu Feng unable to believe how much stronger he had become.

Ch. 406Raging Against Fate's Injustice

Lu Feng cared for Fenfen Chengkuai in the three-headed tiger's cave while she recovered, but a giant bear began marking the territory and forced him to prepare to leave. As Fenfen Chengkuai finally woke, flames erupted from her body and burned Lu Feng's clothes away, leaving them frozen in an awkward embrace.

  • Lu Feng cleared out the Rat Demons, made a bed from their pelts, and stayed in the cave to feed Fenfen Chengkuai broth and medicine while channeling true qi into her.
  • After more than half a month, Fenfen Chengkuai's breathing and circulation improved, but Lu Feng discovered claw marks from a giant bear around the three-headed tiger's territory.
  • Lu Feng waited three more days, then decided to leave and washed Fenfen Chengkuai before their journey.
  • As Lu Feng bathed Fenfen Chengkuai, the water boiled and vanished, her body turned red and steamed, and flames burst from her.
  • Fenfen Chengkuai woke to find Lu Feng naked and holding her, and he awkwardly asked where she had bought clothes that would not burn.

Ch. 407What Better Time Than Now?

Lu Feng tried to escape Gu Xijue’s wrath after she woke and accused him of taking liberties with her, but a Level-Nine Monster Beast interrupted them. As Gu Xijue fought the giant bear, Lu Feng seized the chance to flee the cave.

  • Gu Xijue woke, struck Lu Feng, and demanded an explanation while he insisted it was a misunderstanding.
  • Gu Xijue softened enough to let Lu Feng dodge her next attack, but his careless words about Fenfen Chengkuai being his wife reignited her anger.
  • A giant gray, horned bear arrived at the cave, and Lu Feng hoped it would distract Gu Xijue.
  • Gu Xijue crushed the bear’s head into its neck with a single palm strike, though the beast remained alive and attacked her.
  • Lu Feng activated his movement techniques and escaped outside while Gu Xijue fought the bear.

Ch. 408Defusing the crisis

Lu Feng tried to escape Gu Xijue, but after she used him to kill a giant insect, he attempted to talk his way out of being killed. Gu Xijue captured him and considered whether to seize the Five Directional Banners, leaving Lu Feng in immediate danger.

  • Gu Xijue dragged Lu Feng toward her while her body blazed with purple flames.
  • A ninth-level giant insect arrived, but Gu Xijue severed its legs and hurled it at Lu Feng, who killed it with the Rusty Sword.
  • Lu Feng claimed the Rusty Sword was an Immortal King Divine Weapon and warned Gu Xijue that it could injure her.
  • Gu Xijue sealed Lu Feng's meridians, grabbed his neck, and recognized the Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner as one of the Five Directional Banners.
  • Gu Xijue weighed killing Lu Feng and taking his treasures, while Lu Feng searched for a way to escape the crisis.

Ch. 409Did You Think I Had It Easy?

Lu Feng defended himself to Gu Xijue after she woke and accused him of taking liberties, then accidentally revealed he had fed her soup mouth-to-mouth and provoked her fury again. He argued that rescuing and protecting her had cost him dearly, leaving their argument unresolved.

  • Lu Feng recounted rescuing Gu Xijue and treating her injuries, and Gu Xijue checked her body and realized he had not assaulted her.
  • Gu Xijue unsealed Lu Feng’s meridians after he reminded her he could not move.
  • Lu Feng professed his devotion and told Gu Xijue she could kill him if she felt he had sullied her reputation, and she thanked him for saving her.
  • Lu Feng accidentally admitted he had fed Gu Xijue soup mouth-to-mouth, and Gu Xijue seized his throat in anger.
  • Lu Feng blamed Gu Xijue for the dangers he had faced and described defying the Panshen Heavenly Palace and protecting her across the ocean.

Ch. 410A sigh

Lu Feng tried to escape Gu Xijue’s anger by insisting he had only helped her and claiming he loved her. After Gu Xijue caught him in a lie about their first meeting, she decided not to kill him because he had saved her.

  • Lu Feng defended his actions while caring for Gu Xijue and claimed he had done nothing irreversible.
  • Lu Feng professed his love for Gu Xijue and called her Fenfen Chengkuai, hoping to soften her anger.
  • Gu Xijue questioned Lu Feng’s claim that he had fallen for her at first sight by recalling how he had stolen a roast chicken and fled.
  • Lu Feng tried to retreat, but Gu Xijue warned him to stop and made him wait while she considered his fate.
  • Gu Xijue said she would not kill Lu Feng, recognizing that he had saved her from the Panshen Heavenly Palace.

Ch. 411Not Much Better Off

Gu Xijue recovered from her injuries while keeping Lu Feng on the island as her cook and attendant, then asked why he risked his life for her. Lu Feng explained that he feared death but would face it for things he considered more important, leaving Gu Xijue waiting for his answer about why he came to help her.

  • Gu Xijue ordered Lu Feng to follow her, marked him with a supposedly tracking family art, and warned him not to leave the island.
  • Lu Feng obediently cooked for Gu Xijue as she rested, and she rejected fish soup in favor of tiger meat soup.
  • After five days, Gu Xijue recovered enough to play her zither under the full moon and invited Lu Feng to sit with her.
  • Gu Xijue asked why Lu Feng could be both timid and reckless, and Lu Feng said he feared death but could risk it for what mattered more than his life.
  • Gu Xijue seriously asked why Lu Feng had been willing to get into trouble for her, and he thought he would have been no better off otherwise.

Ch. 412A Way to Get Away

Lu Feng traveled with Gu Xijue toward the Primordial Continent while trying to figure out how to escape going to her home. After more than half a month at sea, he asked to stop and rest, still without a plan to get away.

  • Lu Feng told Gu Xijue he wanted to become a hero because his eldest young miss liked heroes, and Gu Xijue described the kind of hero she admired.
  • At dawn, Lu Feng and Gu Xijue left the island, where the remaining Monster Beasts fought over territory after the three ninth-level Monster Beasts had died.
  • As they crossed the sea, Gu Xijue asked Lu Feng about his orphaned childhood and his master, but Lu Feng said he knew almost nothing about the mysterious man.
  • Lu Feng resolved not to go home with Gu Xijue and spent their journey searching for a way to escape.
  • After more than half a month at sea, Lu Feng asked how much farther the Primordial Continent was, and Gu Xijue said it would take about twenty more days.
  • Lu Feng suggested they find somewhere to rest, hoping for more time to think of a way to get away.

Ch. 413A Host of Powerhouses Arrives!

Lu Feng and Gu Xijue were ambushed at sea by dozens of Primordial Unity Golden Immortals sent by factions across the Kunlun Immortal Realm to capture her. Gu Xijue overwhelmed the attackers, but five more formed a Five Elements battle formation against her.

  • Gu Xijue sensed hidden enemies beneath the sea, and Lu Feng used the Mystic Origin Bright Dao Eye to discover dozens of humanoid Primordial Unity Golden Immortals waiting in ambush.
  • Gu Xijue exposed the attackers with a strike of Purple Flame, while Lu Feng hid underwater behind the Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner.
  • A representative accused Gu Xijue of violating the ceasefire, infiltrating the Five Sacred Mountains Divine Continent, and stealing a treasure from the Panshen Heavenly Palace.
  • Gu Xijue defeated a Golden God Palace warrior and a Goddess Palace swordswoman, then fought off attackers from several other Kunlun Immortal Realm factions.
  • Five attackers joined forces and formed a battle formation combining the qi of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.

Ch. 414Surrender, and I'll Give You a Slim Chance to Live

Lu Feng fled to Gu Xijue for protection as Primordial Unity Golden Immortals from the Kunlun Immortal Realm attacked them. A powerful sea creature struck Gu Xijue, and as her enemies rushed in to exploit her injury, an enormous figure emerged from the sea.

  • Lu Feng spotted pursuers underwater and raced to Gu Xijue, who blocked their attacks and protected him.
  • Gu Xijue warned the Primordial Unity Golden Immortals to surrender, but they ordered their fighters to target Lu Feng and force her onto the defensive.
  • Gu Xijue fought while shielding Lu Feng, sacrificing her advantage as he remained unable to help.
  • A roaring water column erupted from the sea, scattered the Kunlun Immortal Realm fighters, and wounded Gu Xijue.
  • The Kunlun Immortal Realm fighters charged at the weakened Gu Xijue, but another roar sounded and an enormous figure rose from the sea.

Ch. 415The fierce battle continued, a grand display of divine abilities!

An Island King Whale crashed into the battle, forcing Gu Xijue to fight both the beast and the Kunlun Immortal Realm cultivators while protecting Lu Feng. After Gu Xijue was overwhelmed and Lu Feng fell from her grasp, the whale swallowed him.

  • The Island King Whale burst from the sea and struck the battlefield, killing several Kunlun Immortal Realm cultivators and halting the fight between them and Gu Xijue.
  • Gu Xijue attacked the whale with purple flames, then used a firebird to repel Kunlun Immortal Realm cultivators who attacked through the mist.
  • As Gu Xijue tried to leave with Lu Feng, the whale struck again, and its water pillars hit her while she was low on true qi.
  • More Kunlun Immortal Realm cultivators attacked, worsening Gu Xijue's injuries and knocking Lu Feng from her grasp.
  • The Island King Whale surged toward Lu Feng and swallowed him.

Ch. 416Want to Throw Your Lives Away? Then I'll Grant Your Wish!

The Island King Whale swallowed Lu Feng, and Gu Xijue fought it while the Kunlun Immortal Realm cultivators tried to kill her. She drove the whale away but could not find Lu Feng, whose fate remained unknown.

  • The Island King Whale swallowed Lu Feng after Gu Xijue was forced to release him.
  • Gu Xijue struck the whale repeatedly with purple flame attacks, trying to force it to spit Lu Feng out, but it survived and Lu Feng remained missing.
  • A Kunlun Immortal Realm cultivator urged the others to attack Gu Xijue when her true qi seemed depleted, but she unleashed Endless Purple Flame and killed or drove back many of them.
  • The Island King Whale surfaced again, and Gu Xijue struck it with a concentrated purple-flame palm, forcing it to flee into the sea.
  • Gu Xijue pursued the whale while her firebird fought the remaining cultivators, but the whale escaped beyond her perception and she cried out for Lu Feng.

Ch. 417The Might of the Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner

Lu Feng remained unconscious inside the Island King Whale as the Five Directional Banners protected him and tormented the whale. A dark substance from Lu Feng’s back began devouring the whale’s life force, and the whale raced toward a vast continent as Lu Feng woke.

  • The Five Directional Banners formed an array around Lu Feng, resisting the whale’s stomach and causing Gu Xijue’s attempt to make it spit him out to fail.
  • The Island King Whale fled with Lu Feng inside, but the banners burned its stomach whenever its walls pressed against them.
  • The whale crashed its abdomen onto a hill to try to force out the banners, tearing a hole beside Lu Feng.
  • The dark substance formed by the Primordial Spirit Demon-Gathering Scripture left Lu Feng and spread over the wound, draining the whale’s true qi, blood, and vital essence.
  • The panicked whale raced blindly toward a vast continent, and Lu Feng regained consciousness as the coastline appeared ahead.

Ch. 418Xiang Liu's fury

An Island King Whale washed ashore after its essence, energy, and spirit were drained, and members of the Xiang Family gathered to inspect it. Just as Xiang Zhou moved to retrieve its inner core, a sword-wielding figure burst out of the whale.

  • The Island King Whale crashed onto the shore and lay helplessly as Xiang Family residents gathered around it.
  • Xiang Zhou identified the creature, and Liu Ying examined it and found its essence, energy, and spirit nearly exhausted.
  • Xiang Guan drove the group away from the whale, then approached to confirm that it was close to death.
  • Xiang Guan scolded Xiang Zhou about the upcoming Ancestor God Sacrifice and his rival Xiang Jiu.
  • Liu Ying suggested the whale had an inner core, and Xiang Zhou flew over to retrieve it.
  • A hole burst open in the whale's body, and a figure wielding a long sword flew out.

Ch. 419Why Haven't You Made Your Move Yet!

Lu Feng escaped from the Island King Whale only to land on Witch Island, where the Witch Clan captured him as an enemy of the Immortal Race. After his attempt to flee across the sea failed, a powerful attacker charged at him.

  • Lu Feng used the Rusty Sword and Five Qi Dragon Soldiers to cut through the Island King Whale and emerge on Witch Island.
  • Xiang Bao recognized Lu Feng as a member of the Immortal Race, and Lu Feng realized he had landed among the Witch Clan.
  • Lu Feng claimed that Pangu belonged to the Witch Clan in an attempt to placate his captors, but Xiang Liu ordered him seized for the Ancestor God Sacrifice.
  • Lu Feng fled toward the sea, but Xiang Guan raised a towering wall of water that drove him back above the Island King Whale.
  • Xiang Yao urged the others to attack, and an assailant rushed at Lu Feng with a blindingly fast kick.

Ch. 420Take Another Punch from Me!

Lu Feng fought Xiang Zhou and several Witch Clan warriors, relying on his treasures to withstand their attacks and nearly strike Xiang Zhou down. Xiang Wan intervened, knocked Lu Feng unconscious, and ended the fight.

  • Xiang Zhou attacked Lu Feng, but the Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner blocked his kick and Lu Feng shattered the golden ring on Xiang Zhou's arm with the Rusty Sword.
  • Lu Feng tried to escape, but a Witch Clan woman and other warriors joined the assault, which his defensive treasure withstood.
  • Lu Feng used the Heavenly E'e Drunken Immortal Steps and Greased-Soles Cultivation Technique to get behind Xiang Zhou and strike at him.
  • Xiang Wan caught the Rusty Sword between two fingers, then sent Lu Feng flying and knocked the Five Directional Banners back into his body.
  • Xiang rushed at the badly injured Lu Feng and knocked him unconscious.

Ch. 421Pangu Statue

At the Witch Clan’s Ancestor God Sacrifice, Xiang Zhou watched as others argued over his capture of Lu Feng, though he knew his father deserved the credit. Bound and unconscious, Lu Feng woke during the gathering and found himself facing the Pangu Statue.

  • Witch Clan members gathered in Panshen Valley for the annual Ancestor God Sacrifice, where Lu Feng was bound to a pillar.
  • Xiang Zhou admitted that Lu Feng had been stronger than him, while Liu Ying defended Xiang Zhou against Meng Jiu’s taunts and marriage proposal.
  • Xiang Jiu stopped Liu Ying and Meng Jiu from fighting, challenged Meng Jiu to win the Warrior Badge, and urged Xiang Zhou to take part.
  • Xiang Zhou silently accepted credit for capturing Lu Feng, knowing that his father had actually subdued him and reported the capture.
  • Lu Feng woke, found himself sealed among the Witch Clan, and was shocked to see the Pangu Statue facing him.

Ch. 422A Chance to Defy Heaven and Change Fate

Lu Feng was held in a Witch Clan valley, where he studied a Pangu statue, twelve strange energy-filled statues, and the mysterious Zixiao Palace while searching for a way out. The High Priest watched him and revealed that he could wield Lu Feng’s missing Rusty Sword, hinting at a chance to defy heaven and change fate.

  • Lu Feng realized the Rusty Sword was missing and feared the Witch Clan had taken it while preparing him as a sacrifice.
  • Lu Feng examined twelve immense statues and discovered that vital energy circulated inside them as if they were cultivating.
  • Lu Feng studied Zixiao Palace and noticed that one half of its plaque and structure carried a far stronger Dao resonance than the restored half.
  • The High Priest watched Lu Feng from inside Zixiao Palace and said he had never expected to meet him under these circumstances.
  • The High Priest held Lu Feng’s Rusty Sword with ease and spoke of a chance to defy heaven and change fate.

Ch. 423Pangu's Bloodline

The High Priest revealed the Rusty Sword’s origins to the Witch Clan, explaining that it was an incomplete Dao Evolution Sword forged from Pangu’s Dao patterns. He said only those with Pangu’s bloodline could lift it, leaving the clan without a way to wield it or find the missing patterns.

  • The Witch Clan members failed to move the Rusty Sword, so they summoned the High Priest, who picked it up with ease.
  • The High Priest made the sword shine with multicolored Dao resonances and identified it as a treasure from the previous epoch.
  • He explained that Pangu had refined the Order Golden Needle into the Primordial Spirit Dao Sword and that the sword was born from the Dao patterns Pangu refined into himself.
  • The High Priest said the sword lacked three thousand of the ten thousand Dao patterns needed to become complete, but no one could see or cultivate the missing patterns.
  • The High Priest told the Witch Clan that only people with Pangu’s bloodline could lift the Rusty Sword.

Ch. 424The Witch Clan's Schemes

The High Priest explained that Lu Feng shared a bloodline close to Pangu’s and refused to kill him, believing his presence would shape a coming war and the Witch Clan’s chance to claim the Primordial Continent. The others left to conduct the Ancestor God Sacrifice, while the High Priest stayed behind wondering what Chen Pan was plotting.

  • Liuli, Xiang, and Meng Ru questioned how Lu Feng could wield the Dao Evolution Sword when the Witch Clan could not, and the High Priest explained that Lu Feng’s bloodline was nearly identical to Pangu’s.
  • The High Priest said Lu Feng was not necessarily of the Immortal Race and revealed that his arrival heralded a great calamity that could create an opportunity for the Witch Clan to conquer the Primordial Continent.
  • The High Priest refused to kill Lu Feng and told the Witch Clan members to wait for the right time before marching out.
  • Liuli went to preside over the Ancestor God Sacrifice while Meng Ru and the others joked about marriage and training their younger warriors.
  • After the others departed, the High Priest wondered what Chen Pan was scheming and whether killing Lu Feng would undo his plans.

Ch. 425If You Don't Like It, Beat Me to Death!

During the Ancestor God Sacrifice, Lu Feng remained tied up as the Witch Clan held its rituals and warriors' contest, so he mocked and distracted the competitors. The High Priest appeared above the valley, confronting Lu Feng’s arrogance.

  • The Witch Clan bowed before the Pangu Statue while Lu Feng, tied to a nearby pillar, worried that he would be sacrificed.
  • Lu Feng shouted for water to disrupt the eulogies, and Xiang Jiu drenched him before Liuli silenced him with a fruit.
  • After the sacrifice’s light gathered around the Pangu Statue overnight, the Witch Clan began its warriors' contest the next morning.
  • Lu Feng mocked Xiang Jiu and then called out supposed weaknesses, prompting competitors to target vulnerable spots and spar in an unusual, evasive manner.
  • When a Witch Clan member demanded that Lu Feng shut up, Lu Feng challenged him to beat him to death, while Liuli and the others held back because the High Priest had ordered them to let Lu Feng leave.
  • The High Priest appeared above the valley and remarked on Lu Feng’s arrogance.
