Inside Jade Void Palace, the two fell silent for a moment!
Yuanshi drew a deep breath, rose, and paced with his hands behind his back.
"Senior Chaos's Taisu True Exposition is virtually unbeatable at nullifying divine abilities. There is no question of that."
"But if it can only nullify attacks, not launch them... then the threat he poses to the Interception Sect is limited after all."
He paused, a sharp gleam flashing through his eyes.
"How cunning is that scoundrel Gu Changqing? He avoided battle today."
"But with his scheming mind, once he gets to the bottom of the Taisu True Exposition and discovers that this ability can only defend, not attack..."
Yuanshi left the sentence unfinished, but his meaning could not have been clearer.
If the Taisu True Exposition could only passively nullify attacks rather than actively strike, then at most, it was the sturdiest shield.
However sturdy a shield might be, it could stop a spear, but it could not pierce an enemy.
Gu Changqing could simply bypass the Elder of Chaos and strike directly at other targets outside the Interception Sect.
Vulture Peak, for instance. Or Jade Void Palace. Or Shouyang Mountain...
What could the Elder of Chaos do then?
Chase after him?
Could he catch him?
Even if he could, what could he do to Gu Changqing?
Nullify his divine abilities-and then what?
Would the two simply stare at each other, neither able to do anything to the other?
This was the worry buried in Yuanshi's heart.
And the more he thought it through, the more reasonable Yuanshi's words seemed.
At those words, even Laozi fell silent.
His hand holding the teacup stopped in midair, and a barely perceptible stiffness surfaced on his face, usually as unruffled as an ancient well.
Indeed.
An Elder of Chaos
