Du Yu entered a changing legend to protect Xie Bi'an and Fan Wujiao, but their tragic deaths transformed them into the Underworld’s Impermanence. After Du Yu vanished from the Bureau’s memories, Qu Xi and her allies began planning to find him.

• Du Yu investigated the altered legend of Xie Bi'an and Fan Wujiao, then entered its past with A Can and A Kui and befriended the two young men at the City God Temple.
• Du Yu helped Xie Bi'an and Fan Wujiao earn money with a street game, uncovered Xiao Nian’s mission to kill him, and drew the brothers into a sworn brotherhood.
• When the Red Turban Army attacked, Du Yu exposed the impostor’s schemes, stopped Xie Bi'an and Fan Wujiao from fighting each other, and helped them become protectors of Pu County.
• Lord Lang recruited Xie Bi'an and Fan Wujiao, then plotted to kill them, and Fan Wujiao died fighting his attackers, and Xie Bi'an hanged himself after Du Yu tricked him into trusting Xiao Nian.
• Lady Houtu offered the dead brothers immortality: Fan Wujiao traded compassion for strength, while Xie Bi'an traded for peerless beauty, and both became her subordinates.
• Back at the Bureau, Qu Xi chose to keep her memories and stay rather than let Du Yu change her past, but Du Yu disappeared and the others forgot him.
• Qu Xi sought Zhan Qisheng’s help to rescue Du Yu, but he and Yingning refused, and Weaver Girl still remembered Du Yu, and Shiranui Asuka proposed a way to check on him unnoticed.

Weaver Girl’s group changed the bus incident that had shaped Du Yu and Qu Xi’s lives, then Du Yu gathered allies and sought a way to save Lady Houtu. As the team prepared to enter Liu Ling’s legend, Xie Yujiao’s descent device identified her as a reincarnator, and Du Yu’s plan in the Wei-Jin Period took an unexpected turn.

• Shiranui Asuka and Weaver Girl’s group revisited the bus crash, saved Du Yu from the fatal collision, and prevented Zhou Zhuangshi from assaulting Qu Xi, though Qu Xi emerged without memories of Du Yu.
• Du Yu learned that Chi Ghost’s devil blood had driven Lady Houtu into a destructive, amnesiac state, and he brought Xie Yujiao to the Queen Mother of the West to establish Teleportation Arrays.
• Du Yu and the Queen Mother of the West agreed that he would enter War God Xingtian’s legend to change Houtu’s past, and the bureau prepared to practice the plan through Liu Ling Gets Drunk.
• Du Yu recruited Xu Liunian and organized the bureau’s work, while Shiranui Asuka revealed that her brother, Shiranui Jinkuro, was coming to help.
• Xie Yujiao completed a voice-changing earring for Xiao Nian, and the descent device unexpectedly announced that Xie Yujiao was a reincarnator.
• Du Yu, Xiao Nian, and Xie Yujiao entered Liu Ling Gets Drunk, but found Liu Ling’s wife with his servant Dingchun and changed their staged rescue into a plan to expose the affair.
• Du Yu posed as a guardian god and persuaded Liu Ling’s wife and Dingchun to publicize their relationship, then opened a portal to several months later, where the trio were shocked by what they found in the courtyard.

Du Yu gathered allies and prepared to save Houtu by severing her bond with Xingtian, while the group entered the Elder Era and uncovered more of Xie Yujiao’s connection to You Si. Xingtian reached the Yellow Emperor’s camp, overcame its defenders, and faced the Yellow Emperor in a duel as Du Yu questioned how the legend would unfold.

• Du Yu recruited Shiranui Jinkuro and Liu Ling, secured the Golden Flood Dragon Scissors, and began planning how to sever Houtu’s thread without provoking Time’s wrath.
• Xie Yujiao revealed her many deaths and reincarnations, while Du Yu and the team prepared to enter the War God Xingtian legend with Shiranui Asuka joining them.
• Du Yu’s group entered the Elder Era, joined the Jiang Tribe under Houtu, and learned that Xingtian wanted to protect her by keeping her away from battle.
• Du Yu discovered the Flame Emperor and Zhurong had staged attacks to give Xingtian a reason to leave, while the Flame Emperor promised Houtu could marry him if he returned alive.
• Du Yu and Dong Qianqiu discovered that You Si had appeared in the legend and met younger versions of Xie Yujiao, who revealed that generations had continued a shared mission.
• Ju Wu threatened Du Yu and A-Xiang, so Du Yu killed him and his followers when fireballs struck the tribe, then arranged a farewell between Xingtian and Houtu.
• Xingtian left for the Yellow Emperor’s camp, defeated its guards and champions, and continued toward the Yellow Emperor after Cangjie and Du Kang let him pass.
• Xingtian challenged the Yellow Emperor, who drew the Xuanyuan Sword and accepted, while Du Yu wondered whether the legend’s account of Xingtian’s beheading was true.

Du Yu helped Xingtian fulfill his mission and restored Houtu’s memories, but learned that changing the past had damaged two Legends. After meeting another version of himself, Du Yu entered the Nüwa Legend and began trying to break their deadly cycle with Sage.

• Xingtian became an immortal embryo named Qisheng, then died after refusing You Si’s offer, so Du Yu searched among the ghosts for his soul and persuaded him to help Houtu.
• Du Yu arranged for Xingtian’s body to be stolen, then let Xingtian control his body and fight the Yellow Emperor’s forces before the Legend recalled them.
• Du Yu and his companions severed Houtu’s harmful threads, defeated the spirits of Longing and Reluctance, and restored Houtu’s memories, though Du Yu collapsed from the strain.
• Du Yu met Time and Sage in the Stone Grotto, agreed with Sage to race through separate Super Grade A Legends, and later learned he had to enter Nüwa Mends the Sky.
• Du Yu sent Zhan Qisheng, Weaver Girl, and Yingning to ambush Sage in the Gonggong Legend while he traveled with the Seven Outstanding Disciples of the Sage.
• Sage manipulated Gonggong and Zhurong into fighting, but Weaver Girl’s group captured him and urged him to join Du Yu in breaking the Reincarnation cycle.
• Sage agreed to cooperate after warning that approaching attackers would kill the group, and told Dong Qianqiu that an old friend would return to the Legend Management Bureau on the fifth day.
