Power Progression
Xiao Qian’s multi-dantian totals do not represent conventional realms above ninth-stage Dou Qi. Public tests also reveal only part of his reserves 16 24.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Original dragon power, exact realm unspecified | 1 2 | Temporarily released from suppression, he overpowers Ling Ying. Ling Ying considers his strength far beyond Dou Zong. |
| Rebuilt body; nine dantians formed | 3 11 | A painful transformation produces the Nine Palaces Array Diagram and an autonomous black magic core. His former bodily power is lost; only the core retains his original power. |
| First-stage Dou Qi | 5 | Refines magical beast meat’s energy through the golden-chain-wrapped dantian over one hour. Attempts to use the other eight cause severe internal injuries. |
| Second dantian awakened | 8 9 | Another golden chain enters his body after his interaction with Xiao Xun’er. Testing meridian nourishment on Xiao Yan fails to reproduce the awakening. |
| Third-stage Dou Qi on public tests | 12 | Six years later, he still displays third-stage Dou Qi and cannot advance to Dou Zhe; the result conceals his other dantians. |
| Six awakened dantians; 48-stage aggregate | 16 | Reveals one dantian at third stage and five at ninth stage. These combined reserves support his Blade-Devouring Claw and victories over Eight-Star Dou Zhe. |
| Ninth-, eighteenth-, and twenty-seventh-stage public readings | 24 | Successively draws on three dantians to demonstrate his unusual reserves. This is a public disclosure, not a reduction from his earlier 48-stage aggregate. |
| Forty-fifth-stage public reading | 27 28 | A later annual test records forty-five stages, establishing his reputation as the Xiao Clan’s unconventional genius. |
| All nine dantians awakened | 34 35 | A final golden chain activates the ninth dantian. Cracks appear in all nine chains, and he senses that their complete destruction will permit a Dou Zhe breakthrough. The final dantian still requires cultivation. |
| Dantian chains shattered | 39 | The chains break when he leaves after his breakup with Xiao Xun’er. The provided account does not explicitly confirm his subsequent realm. |
Background / History
Transmigration and confinement
Xiao Qian lived a previous life lasting roughly twenty or thirty years before becoming an Ancient Void Dragon. During a long period before his intelligence awakened, those memories faded; their eventual return restored his sense of identity and determination to pursue power 6.
He fled the Ancient Void Dragon Clan after suffering torment associated with his former surname, Zhu. He then encountered Gu Yuan and Xiao Xun’er on their way to the Xiao Clan. Under Gu Yuan’s arrangement, he adopted the surname Xiao and became Xun’er’s protector, with his power restrained through the Golden Emperor Burning Heaven Flame 1 2.
He initially tried to force his release by taking Xun’er hostage. She explained that her child flame could not fully remove the suppression: only the main flame could do so. Her offer to treat him as an older brother reminded him of his own younger sister, although he remained unwilling to accept permanent confinement 2.
Rebuilding his cultivation
The emergence of nine dantians and an independent magic core left Xiao Qian rebuilding his strength in a childlike human body. His first breakthrough came from eating magical beast meat, but he chose not to rush his Dou Qi accumulation at the expense of his foundations 3 5 6 11.
He befriended Xiao Yan after catching him in Xun’er’s room and uncovering his doubts about whether Dou Qi was real. Their agreement to compete developed into years of sparring and close brotherhood. Even after Xiao Yan reached One-Star Dou Zhe, Xiao Qian defeated him while publicly appearing to possess only third-stage Dou Qi 7 12 13.
Conflict with the Jia Lie Family
When Jia Lie Ao organized an ambush, Xiao Qian stayed behind to protect Xiao Yu and the unconscious Xiao Yan. He revealed his hidden reserves, defeated the attacking Dou Zhe, and killed two Eight-Star Dou Zhe with Blade-Devouring Claw 16.
He subsequently fought the One-Star Dou Shi Jia Lie Lin, breaking down his Dou Qi Veil through devouring attacks. Xiao Qian dealt the fatal blow, while Xun’er later burned Jia Lie Lin’s body to ashes 17 20.
Holding Jia Lie Ao, Xiao Qian demanded three market deeds as compensation. His subsequent scheme involved taking control of Jia Lie Ao and allowing Jia Lie Bi to seize him as a hostage, creating the opportunity to kill the Da Dou Shi with a surprise attack. Although the outcome made him famous in Wutan City, he disliked having to rely on schemes rather than overwhelming strength 20 22 23.
Xiao Yan’s decline and the Misty Cloud Sect invitation
After Xiao Yan began losing his cultivated Dou Qi, Xiao Qian publicly displayed twenty-seven stages to divert attention from his friend’s humiliation. In private, he admitted that he also faced a cultivation barrier: he could not advance to Dou Zhe, and pills offered him little help 24.
During Nalan Yanran’s visit to break her engagement with Xiao Yan, she unexpectedly invited Xiao Qian to the Misty Cloud Sect. He felt an unexplained resonance in his dantians near her, then defeated both her fellow disciple and Yanran herself while defending the Xiao Clan’s dignity 28 30 31.
A cryptic sentence in Yanran’s letter disturbed him enough to destroy it before Xun’er could read it. Yanran later revealed that Great Elder Yun Leng had supplied the words and ordered the recruitment attempt. Xiao Qian agreed to visit the sect, but the sentence’s contents and meaning are not disclosed in the provided account 32 33 36.
Farewell and the Nalan estate
Before leaving Wutan City, Xiao Qian and Xun’er spent three days as a couple. Their final meal included wine, stories, a dance, and a kiss. Xun’er returned his puppet, altered to resemble her, and gave him a jade slip explaining how to refine its meridians. Their breakup and farewell coincided with the shattering of his dantian chains 38 39.
Travelling with Nalan Yanran, he continued sparring with her and visited the Nalan estate to collect three promised fourth-order magical beast skeletons. When Nalan Su required Yanran to handle the Mighty Demon Bull without family assistance, Xiao Qian volunteered to face it himself 41 42 44 45.
Spatial passage and Ling Qingzhu
While refining the Fairy Spirit Puppet in the Beast-Taming Arena, Xiao Qian absorbed two beast skeletons into his magic core and used it to restore the puppet to full Dou Ling-level bodily strength. Nine golden flames then emerged from his dantians, entered the puppet, and triggered spatial rifts that pulled away his soul while the arena appeared frozen 47.
The passage brought him into contact with Ling Qingzhu, whose soul-form strength greatly exceeded his own. After the Fairy Spirit Puppet destroyed the Demon Bull with an Azure Lotus attack, Ling Qingzhu examined the unfamiliar world through the puppet’s body. Xiao Qian removed its core and used it to devour the bull’s remains 49 50.
Appearance
- Childlike human form: His transformation initially leaves him looking about four or five years old; onlookers later estimate five or six 3 5.
- Black eyes and hair: His eyes are described as jet-black, and his neatly combed hair gleams black during the journey to the Imperial Capital 3 41.
- Refined features: Nalan Yanran notices his handsome, refined face 36.
- Cultivation-worn hands: Despite his youthful appearance, his palms develop calluses 12.
Personality
Xiao Qian places pride and freedom above comfort or protection. He rejects being treated as a pet or dependent, threatens retaliation against the Gu Clan if Xun’er breaks her promise, and resolves to build strength that belongs to him rather than rely on ancestral shelter 1 2 11.
He enjoys challenging stronger opponents and is unusually willing to endure pain in pursuit of progress. During his early dantian experiments, he repeatedly injures himself while laughing and refusing intervention. Against Jia Lie Lin, he accepts the possibility of a grave wound if it will secure a kill 5 17 18.
His loyalty to Xiao Yan contrasts with his ruthlessness toward enemies. He supports his friend through public disgrace and retaliates against those who humiliate him, but shows little sympathy to opponents who persist in attacking. Although capable of elaborate schemes, he considers direct victory through strength the better path 23 24 31 32.
Romance conflicts with his desire to remain unbound. He grows intimate with Xun’er yet argues that love becomes responsibility and dependence, choosing to avoid a permanent romantic commitment so that he can continue pursuing power 25 36 37.
Abilities & Skills
Ancient Void Dragon Physique
- Converts consumed energy into cultivation resources, allowing him to cultivate through magical beast meat 3 5.
- Retains exceptional strength and resilience after bodily reconstruction, though his usable physical power falls to that of a newborn dragon 11.
- Withstands Eight-Star Dou Zhe wind attacks without bloody wounds; a Dou Shi’s saber can still injure his arms 16 17.
- His resilient meridians can be tempered further during his renewed foundational cultivation 5.
Nine Dantians and the Great Dao Devouring Love Scripture
- Nine dantians form a Nine Palaces Array Diagram and provide separate stores of Dou Qi 3 16.
- Their awakening is connected to golden chains and Xiao Xun’er; nourishing Xiao Yan’s meridians does not produce the same result 8 9.
- Early attempts to cultivate through unawakened dantians trigger damaging chimes that injure his organs and meridians 5.
- The scripture’s guiding principle concerns breaking love’s chains. His sensed breakthrough opportunity and eventual chain shattering connect his cultivation barrier to those restraints 3 34 39.
Blade-Devouring Claw
- A self-created Black Tier Mid-Grade, also described as Mid-Level Mystic Rank, Dou Technique 16 17.
- Envelops his hands in pitch-black energy and forms lethal claws capable of cutting through enemy techniques 16.
- Kills two Eight-Star Dou Zhe in one exchange 16.
- Its devouring attribute erodes Jia Lie Lin’s Dou Qi Veil rather than merely striking its surface 17.
- Requires substantial reserves; during the ambush, Xiao Qian states that his available Dou Qi only barely supports its use 16.
Perception and Close-Quarters Combat
- Uses fists, knees, elbows, grappling, and precisely timed counters to defeat Xiao Yan’s Crushing Stone Palm 13.
- Predicts Nalan Yanran’s true direction during the Willow Floss Movement Technique without using a movement Dou Technique himself 31.
- Spiritual perception alerts him to nearby unusual activity 6.
Magic Core and Puppet Refinement
- His autonomous black magic core preserves his original power and can devour magical beast remains 3 11 47 50.
- Uses the core to repair and strengthen the Fairy Spirit Puppet 47.
- At that stage, the puppet has Dou Ling-level bodily strength, not Xiao Qian himself. Its unformed meridians limit it to a single strike 47.
- The golden flames and spatial passage activate without his deliberate control; they are not established as a mastered travel technique 47 49.

- Gu Yuan — Arranges his role as Xun’er’s protector. Xiao Qian resents the restraint imposed on him and seeks independence from the arrangement 1 2 4.

- Ling Ying — Xun’er’s guardian; initially opposes Xiao Qian’s release and later observes how his cultivation drive encourages her to train 1 11.

- Xiao Zhan — Host and senior ally who permits him to defend the clan’s dignity and recognizes his strength and cunning 22 23 30.
- Nalan Yanran — Begins as an opponent and recruiter, then becomes a persistent sparring partner and travelling companion. Xiao Qian comes to respect her determination 28 31 36 41.
- Yun Leng — Misty Cloud Sect Great Elder behind the recruitment attempt and cryptic letter; Xiao Qian seeks to confront the matter directly 33 42.
- Ling Qingzhu — Encountered during involuntary soul travel; later occupies his puppet’s body. Her strength makes him wary of provoking her 49 50.
