Background / History

Ruined Genius and Five Years of Training

Xiao Feng was formerly a genius, but his Root Bone was stolen and his dantian crippled. His parents were murdered, his brothers turned against him, his fiancée humiliated him and broke their engagement, and his lineage mocked him. He vowed to reclaim everything he had lost 28 29 32.

Unable to cultivate conventionally, he spent five years carrying a hundred-thousand-jin iron-gold wood log up and down an Azure Cloud Sect mountain every day, without missing a day. His persistence gradually turned the outer disciples’ ridicule into admiration. Because he made no sect contributions during those years, he received none of the monthly cultivation resources 28 32.

He later learns that the Senior Brother Zhao who supported him in the outer sect was actually Yan’er, a childhood companion who had followed him disguised as a man. She had already remained beside him during his darkest years in his lineage, although he failed to recognize her under her later identities 691.

Outer Disciple Tournament

Xiao Feng was initially refused entry because he had not reached Qi Refining. After he broke his iron-gold wood with one punch, Ouyang intervened and persuaded Steward Sun to permit his registration 29.

His first opponent was a fifth-layer Qi Refining cultivator. Xiao Feng initially dodged spells to learn how cultivators fought, then crushed a Water Dragon and defeated the caster with one punch. Further one-punch victories raised his ranking from outside the top thousand into the top twenty 30.

Against seventh-layer Foundation Establishment cultivator Ma Xingye, Xiao Feng endured sword qi, escaped a Stone Hand, and destroyed a powerful stone puppet. Just before he could strike the exhausted Ma Xingye, Steward Sun secretly attacked him with wind spell arts. Xiao Feng lost consciousness, and Ma Xingye was declared the winner 30 31.

Ouyang rescued him with shattered bones and severed meridians, then administered a pill that restored most of his injuries. Having noticed that Xiao Feng’s body still absorbed primordial energy without a dantian, Ouyang offered him a possible route back to cultivation 32.

Joining Little Mountain Peak

Xiao Feng accepted a place as Little Mountain Peak’s nominal disciple, with formal acceptance left to Ouyang’s master. Before leaving the outer sect, he borrowed spirit stones to repay the friends who had supported him and gave Senior Brother Zhao a chest containing one hundred high-grade spirit stones 33.

At Little Mountain Peak, Hu Tutu welcomed him with a white flower. Chen Changsheng recognized him as the future Great Emperor who, in the timeline Chen remembered, had single-handedly held the Devil Race at bay for ten years 34.

Divine-Beast Reconstruction

Ouyang proposed replacing Xiao Feng’s dantian with divine-beast tattoos that could absorb primordial energy and nourish his flesh. Despite Chen Changsheng’s warning that failure would be fatal and irreversible, Xiao Feng knelt and begged to attempt it. Bai Feiyu supplied an ancient body-cultivation precedent using beast soul essences 35.

The group refined the plan so that Xiao Feng would become the beasts rather than merely house them. Chen Changsheng painted five beasts onto his back using embedded spirit stone essence, then split and reconstructed portions of his soul for the Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird 36 37 38.

The Heavenly Dao rejected the process and unleashed heavenly punishment. Ouyang captured its Eye of Heavenly Punishment and pressed it into Xiao Feng’s brow, halting the destructive lightning. Xiao Feng survived, fused with the two awakened beasts, and gained a body capable of containing their divine essence and the thunder’s power 38 39 40.

Sect Grand Competition

After testing his new strength damaged the courtyard, Ouyang ordered Xiao Feng to repair the walkways and bury animals killed by the tribulation. He was still repairing the cliffside walkway when the sect summoned its disciples to receive visiting cultivators 40 41.

Xiao Feng later declared that he would raise Little Mountain Peak from its position at the bottom of Azure Cloud Peak’s steps to the front. During the grand competition, Ouyang lent him to the sect to produce Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird phantoms above the Main Hall 44 46.

Dongxu Zi repeatedly offered to make him a personal disciple. Xiao Feng refused because he owed his restored prospects to Ouyang. The Sect Master nevertheless provided a Spirit-Gathering Formation, spirit fruits, and immortal medicines for his cultivation 46.

Continued Training

During Ouyang’s absence, Xiao Feng consulted Bai Feiyu about Elder Ancient Era body-cultivation methods and learned to control his tattoos. Chen Changsheng supplied custom-made yellow talismans bearing weight-increasing formations, while Xiao Feng sought stronger spirit beasts in the forbidden grounds to hone his body and close-combat skills 78.

He returned to Little Mountain Peak with a dramatic entrance accompanied by music from a Recording Stone. Chen Changsheng explained that music assisted the activation of his tattoos and power, and that further bloodline development could eventually manifest the remaining beasts. His body-cultivation regimen also gave him an enormous appetite 78.

After Hu Tutu completed a four-hour medicinal bath, Chen Changsheng instructed Xiao Feng to drink the remaining medicinal liquid. Xiao Feng complied despite his initial realization that it was his senior sister’s bathwater 93.

Rejection and Departure

When Hu Yun returned, Xiao Feng remained only a registered disciple, without an Everlasting Lamp or formal inner-sect status. Although he could already fight Nascent Soul Realm spirit beasts, he feared that his lack of a Root Bone would prevent his acceptance 162.

Upon entering the hall and kneeling to request discipleship, the Eye of Heavenly Punishment opened involuntarily and struck Hu Yun with Purple Empyrean World-Annihilating Lightning, scattering his body. Ouyang forced the eye shut, and Hu Yun reassembled. Despite Xiao Feng’s terrified apologies, Hu Yun accused him of attempting to murder his prospective master and forbade him from joining Little Mountain Peak or claiming discipleship 162.

Before leaving, Xiao Feng kowtowed three times outside Hu Yun’s room, still regarding his senior brothers’ master as his own teacher. In private, Hu Yun acknowledged the master-disciple bond implicit in accepting those bows 165.

On the mountain path, Xiao Feng vented his anguish through his newly developed Azure Dragon transformation. Hu Tutu’s handkerchief and the withered flower she had given him reminded him that Little Mountain Peak’s disciples had genuinely treated him as family. He resolved to recover everything he had lost and prove himself when they met again 166.

Ma Xingye encountered him during a patrol and, ashamed of the means by which he had won their tournament bout, was struck by Xiao Feng’s composure. Feeling suffocated by his own life in the sect, Ma Xingye chose to leave with him 166.

Revenge and the Cold Plateau

Xiao Feng later recounted that he first returned to his hometown and punished the rivals, traitorous brothers, and enemies who had wronged him and seized his lineage. None could withstand a single palm strike. Completing his revenge brought emptiness rather than fulfillment, revealing that his younger self’s suffering, rather than his enemies’ actual strength, had held him captive 371.

He then traveled north with Ma Xingye, rescued a half-demon girl, and wandered among the Cold Plateau’s tribes. Constant battle gave him a renewed sense of purpose. At an Elder Ancient Era covenant pillar, he comprehended the Five Elements Sacred Physique and subsequently sought the Blood Lake to temper his flesh 371.

During his rise, Yan’er joined the Dragon King Envoys as a half-demon catwoman. Xiao Feng again failed to recognize her as his childhood companion 691.

Blood Lake and the Dragon King’s Ascendancy

At the Blood Lake, Xiao Feng discovered that the Xiantian Demon Gods’ supposed inheritance and bloodline awakening were methods of selecting descendants as vessels for their return. His own Five Ink-colored Divine Beasts, however, had been nourished by his vitality and were inseparable from his identity, allowing him to resist possession 366.

His beasts fought the five blood-colored divine beasts while he shattered their blood-water bodies with a punch. The defeated ancestors then gathered in the blood cloud and formed an enormous dragon claw, which Xiao Feng charged alongside his manifestations 366.

Using Divine Beast Integration, Xiao Feng became a composite Fusion Beastman. He destroyed the blood cloud, while Hu Tutu’s suona helped prevent its remnants from possessing the demons below. He entered the Blood Lake and eliminated the five controlling demons before emerging in human form 368.

The assembled demons and half-demons bowed under the pressure of his divine-beast bloodline. Xiao Feng initially wanted to rush to Ouyang, whom he had not seen for years, but Ouyang signaled that he should proceed as a king. Ma Xingye placed a black cloak around his shoulders, and Xiao Feng walked toward the throne prepared by his followers 368.

After the celebration, Xiao Feng slipped away with Ma Xingye to reunite privately with Ouyang. He reassured Ma Xingye that he would not abandon his followers to return to the sect. Resting beside Ouyang gave him a rare sense of safety and further harmonized his vitality with the beasts 370 371.

Recognition and the Ten Thousand Demon Hall

Ouyang had retained the wooden plaque Hu Yun made for Xiao Feng while distributing the other disciples’ plaques. When they reunited, he handed it over. Hu Tutu regarded the named plaque as proof that Hu Yun had accepted Xiao Feng, and Xiao Feng likewise wondered whether it confirmed his place among the disciples 242 372.

Xiao Feng accompanied Ouyang and Hu Tutu toward the Ten Thousand Demon Hall. He ordered the Dragon King Envoys to secure the Blood Lake’s perimeter and conceal Ouyang’s activities from the assembled demons 373.

Within White Jade Capital, the palace’s pressure eventually impeded Xiao Feng until Ouyang shielded him with True Essence. The group encountered eerie statues and three Xiantian Demon Gods, one of whom revealed himself as Liang Zai 375.

Later, Xiao Feng assumed an armored divine-beast form and stood with Liang Zai, Diao Mao, and Bie San against the hall’s numerous Divine Souls until Ouyang returned with Hu Tutu 386.

Takama-ga-hara and His Chosen Dao

Xiao Feng exchanged an evenly matched blow with Hu Bing, whose White Tiger form possessed Integration Realm power. Both felt an instinctive hostility toward the other. Ouyang recognized that Xiao Feng still lacked the White Tiger blood essence claimed by Hu Bing and feared a future conflict over it 396 397.

Xiao Feng brought Ouyang and Zhao Qiansun through a Teleportation Gate to Takama-ga-hara, where the half-demons welcomed him as their Dragon King. He affirmed his intention to follow his own path as both a human and a half-demon, earning Ouyang’s acknowledgment that he had grown up 397.

He declined Ouyang’s invitation to return to Little Mountain Peak, explaining that his Dao depended on constant battle rather than secluded cultivation. He came to understand Hu Yun’s refusal as allowing him to pursue the path suited to his rootless body rather than confining him within the sect 398.

Reunion with Hu Tutu

When Xiao Feng next reunited with Ouyang and Hu Tutu, his fusion with Vermilion Bird essence blood had turned his hair yellow. Ouyang’s exaggerated suspicion of his appearance bewildered him, while Hu Tutu happily recognized him and praised his hair 505.

Xiao Feng subsequently showed Hu Tutu around the Ten Thousand Demon Nation and carried her back to the Imperial City after she fell asleep. He told Ouyang that he no longer resented Hu Yun’s refusal to accept him, understanding that endless combat was necessary for his growth 507.

After Ouyang departed, Hu Tutu revealed that she had overheard his hardships and wanted to become strong enough to help him. Xiao Feng listened to her grief and encouraged her to gain the power needed to protect what she cherished 507.

Complete Divine-Beast Power and Yan’er’s Loss

Ten years after the three Sages attained Sagehood, Xiao Feng confronted Hu Bing again. He offered to plead with his senior sister for Hu Bing’s life if he surrendered, but Hu Bing refused. Xiao Feng ultimately killed the White Tiger and obtained the complete Five Directional Divine Beasts’ power 690 691.

The added power exceeded what his non-Immortal body could safely contain. Auspicious and baleful divine-beast powers fought within him, repeatedly destroying and rebuilding his flesh until he collapsed. A Peace Talisman released life power and held his body together, allowing his aura to stabilize 691.

During his unconsciousness, Xiao Feng dreamed of an alternate life without Little Mountain Peak’s intervention. In that life, the divine beasts possessed him through the Blood Lake, he accidentally killed his childhood sweetheart while under their control, and he eventually overcame their consciousnesses to stand at the world’s pinnacle. These events are presented as a dream of another fate, not his present-life history 691.

Upon awakening, he reflected uneasily on the Wu Clan’s encroachment on demon territory and the Divine Dao’s expansion among the Demon Race. Although he recognized his senior brothers’ achievements as Sages, he resolved to become strong enough to question their policies 691.

He also remembered Yan’er’s lifelong devotion: she had followed him as Senior Brother Zhao and later as a cat-eared Dragon King Envoy, only revealing her identity to him when she died protecting him. The Peace Talisman she had given him still carried life power and seemed to have preserved something of her. Xiao Feng vowed to spare no price, even his own life, to revive her 691.

Exhausted, he returned on foot to the Ten Thousand Demon Nation’s capital. His senior sister waited at the city wall and thanked him for his efforts, allowing him finally to collapse and release his grief 691.

Mount Naihe

Xiao Feng later joined the powerful cultivators gathered at Mount Naihe to await Ouyang’s reincarnation. He greeted Daji as his senior sister, but she rebuked him for their estrangement. She permitted the assembled group to escort Eldest Senior Brother up the mountain while insisting that only she would accompany him for the final stretch 730.

Appearance

Xiao Feng is a bronze-skinned youth with refined features, a resolute expression, and a muscular build 28 37.

  • Chest scar: An enormous scar described as resembling a centipede when his body moves 28.
  • Training clothing: Wears a yellow training outfit during the outer disciple tournament 30.
  • Back tattoos: The Five Directional Divine Beasts cover his back; the awakened Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird appear especially lifelike 37 40.
  • Third eye: A lightning-wreathed vertical pupil appears between his brows after he gains the Eye of Heavenly Punishment 40.
  • Eyes after reconstruction: Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird phantoms move within his eyes 40.
  • Later bearing: After years away, he displays greater maturity and composure, although he is still under twenty when he first reunites with Ouyang at the Blood Lake 366 371.
  • Azure Dragon form: Develops a dragon’s head, dragon eyes, and a tail while retaining a humanoid body 166.
  • Fusion Beastman: His initial composite transformation has a dragon head bearing the heavenly eye, tiger- and bird-headed hands, turtle legs, wings, and a Qilin phantom 368.
  • Divine Beast Armor: A later form incorporates a dragon claw, tiger paw, turtle legs, phoenix wings, a moving Qilin manifestation, and a Qilin helmet 386.
  • Hair changes: Vermilion Bird essence-blood fusion turns his hair yellow; by his later battle with Hu Bing, he has rainbow-colored hair 505 690.
  • Royal clothing: Ma Xingye places a black cloak over his shoulders as he assumes his place as the half-demons’ king 368.

Personality

Xiao Feng’s defining traits are perseverance, pride, and refusal to accept the fate imposed on him. He trains without interruption for five years and aims for first place rather than merely qualifying for the grand competition. His resolve can become self-destructive: he continues advancing on Ma Xingye despite injuries that nearly kill him 28 30 31.

His losses also make him suspicious and quick to anger when his past is exposed. During his recovery, he assumes Ouyang intends to exploit him. Even so, he acknowledges genuine kindness and insists on repaying it, treating assistance from his outer-sect friends as a debt of gratitude 32 33.

Life at Little Mountain Peak gradually makes him more cheerful. He remains respectful toward his senior disciples, treasures Hu Tutu’s flower, and refuses Dongxu Zi’s offer rather than abandon Ouyang. He also develops an interest in his senior brothers’ dramatic displays, memorizing Bai Feiyu’s lines and taking notes on Chen Changsheng’s performance 34 42 46 47.

His pride prevents him from begging for acceptance after Hu Yun rejects him, and he regards charity as potentially insulting. Nevertheless, the keepsakes given by Hu Tutu remind him that he is not wholly alone and restore his determination 166.

Completing his revenge forces him to look beyond his old grievances. He discovers that the enemies who once seemed insurmountable cannot give his life lasting meaning, and turns toward battle, self-improvement, and responsibility for his followers 370 371.

As Dragon King, he can be commanding, ruthless toward enemies, and outwardly confident. In Ouyang’s presence, he readily becomes deferential and seeks reassurance or praise, regarding his eldest senior brother as a trusted teacher and friend rather than merely a fellow disciple 370 371 507.

He remains humble about his abilities compared with Little Mountain Peak’s other disciples, even after substantial achievements. His enthusiasm for theatrical entrances persists: he carries music for battles and records Ouyang’s impressive declarations as lessons in showing off 78 372 375 396.

His mature outlook emphasizes self-reliance. As Half-Demon Great Emperor, he opposes foreign encroachment and fears that reliance on divine aid will weaken the Demon Race’s capacity to strengthen itself. Yan’er’s death also exposes his emotional blindness, leaving him deeply remorseful for failing to recognize her devotion 691.

Abilities & Skills

Body Cultivation

Xiao Feng strengthens his flesh through primordial energy rather than conventional dantian-based cultivation 32 35.

  • Strength and speed: Shatters iron-gold wood and defeats numerous Qi Refining opponents with single punches, often closing the distance before they finish casting 29 30.
  • Durability: A Water Dragon fails to break his skin, though Foundation Establishment sword qi can injure him 30.
  • High-end combat feat: Destroys Ma Xingye’s Core Formation–strength stone puppet, but suffers extensive bleeding and exhaustion 31.
  • Cultivation limitation: Before reconstruction, he cannot consciously perceive primordial energy, although his body absorbs it automatically 35.
  • Training methods: Uses weighted formation talismans, ancient body-refinement teachings, and close combat with spirit beasts 78.
  • Nascent Soul–level combat: Can fight Nascent Soul Realm spirit beasts head-on without difficulty by the time Hu Yun returns 162.
  • Regeneration: His bloodied hands recover completely while he rests in the snow after leaving Little Mountain Peak 166.
  • Five Elements Sacred Physique: Comprehended at an ancient covenant pillar on the Cold Plateau 371.
  • Battle-dependent growth: His Dao requires repeated combat and bodily breakthroughs on the boundary between life and death; seclusion and abundant sect resources cannot substitute for this process 398 507.
  • Late-stage physical pressure: After obtaining Hu Bing’s power, his breathing causes the ground to tremble, and divine-beast pressure keeps living creatures several thousand meters away 691.

Unyielding Will / Indomitable Will

His system panel lists Unyielding Will initially and Indomitable Will after his transformation 28 40.

  • Endures thousands of spirit stone essence fragments being embedded in his flesh without making a sound 37.
  • Keeps his spiritual core clear even while soul reconstruction drives him into overwhelming agony 38.
  • Continues fighting through severe injuries when physical strength alone is no longer sufficient 31.
  • Retains Indomitable Will when his panel updates to Great Emperor’s True Form 368.

Five Directional Divine Beasts

The tattoos provide an alternative to his destroyed dantian. Soul fragments placed within the beasts allow Xiao Feng to occupy their spiritual cores rather than depend on independent beast consciousnesses 35 36 38.

Divine Beast Documented State
Azure Dragon Wood-aligned; awakened and fused with Xiao Feng during reconstruction. Later enables a dragon-headed transformation, dragon breath, and composite fusion forms 36 38 40 166 368
Vermilion Bird Fire-aligned; awakened and fused with Xiao Feng during reconstruction. Later contributes to composite forms; its essence blood changes his hair color 36 38 40 368 505
White Tiger Initially painted but unawakened; active among his Five Ink-colored Divine Beasts by the Blood Lake battle. Its corresponding essence blood remains incomplete until Xiao Feng defeats Hu Bing 35 37 38 366 397 691
Black Tortoise Initially painted but unawakened; active among the five manifestations by the Blood Lake battle and supplies turtle-like legs in fusion forms 35 37 38 366 368
Qilin Initially painted but unawakened; active by the Blood Lake battle. Its phantom helps disperse the blood cloud, and later fusion produces a Qilin helmet 35 37 38 366 368 386
  • Continuous nourishment: Heaven and earth essence circulates through his reconstructed body, strengthening him constantly 40.
  • Divine-beast pressure: His gaze can rob low-level cultivators of the will to resist 40.
  • Manifestation: Can summon Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird phantoms for the sect’s ceremonial display 46.
  • Musical activation: Music helps stimulate the tattoos and their power; he uses a Recording Stone to accompany his entrances and battles 78 368.
  • Blood and mind linkage: The five ink-colored beasts become extensions of Xiao Feng himself, respond to his intentions, and prevent the original Xiantian Demon Gods from successfully claiming his body through their inheritance scheme 366.
  • Independent coordinated attacks: His manifestations disengage at his intention so his punch can strike their opponents without hitting them 366.
  • Bloodline suppression: His divine-beast aura compels both demons and half-demons to bow as though facing an ancestor 368.
  • Essence-blood refinement: Incorporating divine-beast essence blood greatly strengthens his physique and allows individual body parts to assume beast forms 505.
  • Complete inheritance: Killing Hu Bing supplies the complete five-directional power, but its auspicious and baleful aspects initially exceed his body’s capacity and require the Peace Talisman’s support 691.

Divine Beast Integration / I Am the Five Elements

His Great Emperor’s True Form panel lists I Am the Five Elements, while the accompanying description identifies Divine Beast Integration as a newly gained ability 368.

  • Azure Dragon fusion: Preliminary fusion multiplies his strength and speed more than tenfold and grants a dragon tail and dragon breath 166.
  • Fusion Beastman: Combines the five beasts into a single humanoid combat form while retaining the Eye of Heavenly Punishment 368.
  • Tiger-head projectile: Fires a large wave of light from his tiger-headed hand, using it to distract the enemy while he closes the distance 368.
  • Wing-assisted movement: Opens wings and accelerates rapidly enough to appear directly before the blood cloud 368.
  • Bird-beak spear: Lengthens the beak of his bird-headed hand into a spear that pierces and splits the blood cloud 368.
  • Qilin cry: The Qilin phantom’s cry disperses the divided cloud 368.
  • Divine Beast Armor: A subsequent configuration encases him in interlocking beast features, including a dragon claw, tiger paw, turtle legs, wings, and a Qilin helmet 386.
  • Combat against Hu Bing: While armored, exchanges a blow evenly with Hu Bing’s Integration Realm White Tiger form 396.

Eye of Heavenly Punishment

Ouyang implants the captured Eye of Heavenly Punishment between Xiao Feng’s brows during the tribulation 39.

  • Emits a spatial fluctuation that releases Leng Qingsong, Bai Feiyu, Chen Changsheng, and Hu Tutu from heavenly restraint 40.
  • Xiao Feng can activate it almost immediately after receiving it 40.
  • Initially remains capable of acting independently: it opens without his consent and strikes Hu Yun with Purple Empyrean World-Annihilating Lightning until Ouyang forcibly suppresses it 162.
  • Remains present on his dragon-headed Fusion Beastman form 368.
  • Is perfectly mastered by the time of his decisive confrontation with Hu Bing 690.

Relationships

  • Ouyang — Eldest senior brother, rescuer, and architect of his restored cultivation. Xiao Feng refuses to leave Little Mountain Peak out of gratitude to him. Even as Dragon King, he regards Ouyang as a teacher, trusted friend, and safe harbor where he can set aside his public responsibilities. He later joins those awaiting Ouyang’s reincarnation at Mount Naihe 29 32 35 46 370 507 730.
  • Senior Brother Zhao / Yan’er — Outer-sect friend who looked after him for years. Xiao Feng gives this friend a farewell gift and promises to help even at the cost of his life. Later revealed to be Yan’er, a little Cat Demon raised alongside him who followed him disguised as a man and subsequently joined the Dragon King Envoys as a catwoman. He recognizes her only when she dies protecting him, then vows to revive her at any cost 28 33 691.
  • Chen Changsheng — Third senior brother; creates his divine-beast painting and reconstructs his soul. Recognizes Xiao Feng’s future importance from memories of another timeline. Also provides weighted training talismans. Xiao Feng later becomes uneasy about the consequences of his senior brothers’ Sage-era policies for the Demon Race 34 37 38 40 78 691.
  • Bai Feiyu — Fourth senior brother; provides the ancient body-cultivation method and helps defend him during heavenly punishment. Continues teaching him Elder Ancient Era cultivation methods during his training 35 36 39 78.
  • Leng Qingsong — Second senior brother; contributes to the transformation plan and attacks the Eye of Heavenly Punishment to protect him 36 39.
  • Hu Tutu — Younger in age but his senior sister by sect order. Her welcoming flower becomes a treasured keepsake, later joined by her handkerchief. Xiao Feng is delighted to learn that she is a demon, having worried that his transformed appearance might frighten her. His gratitude eventually develops into romantic admiration after she becomes empress, but Yan’er’s death profoundly changes those feelings. He encourages Hu Tutu to grow strong enough to protect the people she values 34 46 166 371 505 507 691.
  • Hu Yun — Little Mountain Peak’s master. Publicly rejects Xiao Feng after the Eye of Heavenly Punishment attacks him involuntarily, but privately acknowledges the significance of Xiao Feng’s farewell bows and leaves him a named wooden plaque. Xiao Feng later understands that remaining on the mountain would have obstructed his battle-dependent Dao and no longer resents him 162 165 372 398 507.
  • Dongxu Zi — Sect Master who attempts to recruit him as a personal disciple, then supports his cultivation despite his refusal 46.
  • Ma Xingye — Tournament opponent whose officially declared victory depends on Steward Sun’s covert intervention. Later leaves the Azure Cloud Sect with Xiao Feng and becomes a loyal Dragon King Envoy, guarding him and helping him assume his public role as king 30 31 166 368 370 371.
