Tang Sanzang overturned the Three Sages’ plans, attained and relinquished Sagehood, and helped establish the Underworld and countless connected worlds. Daji’s search for Ouyang brought him back from his prison in the Void, and the arc ended with Chen Changsheng remembering the person he had lost as Ouyang neared reincarnation.

• Daji confronted Bai Feiyu over the Divine Edict and Mount Tai, but Chen Changsheng subdued her and questioned the Three Sages’ freedom.
• The Three Sages planned a great calamity and arranged the westward journey, while Mu Yunhai recovered the name Ouyang from her memories.
• Chen Changsheng reunited the Three-Life Stone and set the Heart Ape’s trial in motion, leading to Tang Sanzang freeing the Monkey King and taking him west with Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing.
• Tang Sanzang revealed his alliance with Xie Xinzhi, rejected the Sages’ plan, and attained supreme Buddhist Sagehood through his great vows.
• Tang Sanzang relinquished his Sage Position in Chaos, helping the Mortal World expand, while his way of creation and the Six Paths established the Underworld and its links to other worlds.
• Daji united the demons and proclaimed herself their First Emperor, but her search for the blue-green-robed figure drained her life force and ended with her collapse.
• Ouyang heard Tutu’s voice, escaped his cage in the Void with Death’s help, and learned that countless Rivers of Time now branched through the Myriad Worlds.
• Ouyang and Death chose to reincarnate together, while Chen Changsheng recovered his memories of Ouyang and watched him approach rebirth without moving to meet him.

Ouyang passed through reincarnation while Daji and his disciples mourned him, then the Three Sages rebuilt the Azure Cloud Sect and searched the world for his new life. Leng Qingsong found Ouyang as a boy named Ou Ye and chose to protect and guide him without burdening him with their past.

• Chen Changsheng barred Bai Feiyu and Leng Qingsong from seeing Ouyang, but Daji persuaded them to rebuild the Azure Cloud Sect and preserve his path to reincarnation.
• Ouyang and Oye traveled through the Underworld as their memories faded, then Ouyang drank the water of forgetting and entered the Six Paths after calling Daji Tutu.
• Hu Tutu learned that Ouyang had been reborn in a distant world, while the Three Sages vowed to serve Heaven and Earth and sent their incarnations there to prepare for his arrival.
• The Three Sages rebuilt Little Mountain Peak and searched for Ouyang, with Leng Qingsong eventually finding a sign for the Azure Cloud Orphanage in Maple City.
• Leng Qingsong recognized the older boy at the orphanage as Ouyang, but resolved to let him live peacefully without knowledge of their past.
• Leng Qingsong took Ou Ye to find sweet potatoes, learned his name, and promised to teach him sword skills if he never forgot his big brother.

Chen Changsheng, Bai Feiyu, and Hu Tutu found Ouyang reincarnated as a boy at Azure Cloud Orphanage and helped him and the other children move on to new lives. Ouyang left with Hu Tutu for Little Mountain Peak, while the story also followed Wang Yu setting out from his master and Ouyezi teaching Big Bai about people and fate.

• Leng Qingsong secretly placed a Sword Formula in Ou Ye’s mind, then watched him return to Azure Cloud Orphanage with his brother.
• Chen Changsheng and Bai Feiyu caught up with Leng Qingsong and discovered that Ouyang, their Eldest Senior Brother, had been reincarnated as a boy at the orphanage.
• The Three Sages recruited Great Cultivators to adopt the orphanage’s children and take on their karmic ties, and the boy arranged for Ou Ye to leave with Song Mu.
• Bai Feiyu and Chen Changsheng separately met the boy, recognized Ouyang in him, and gave him a folding fan and a copper coin on a red string.
• Hu Tutu visited the orphanage, revealed herself to the boy, and reunited him with White Cloud, who was also from their former world.
• The boy left Azure Cloud Orphanage with Hu Tutu for Little Mountain Peak, while White Cloud departed for Penglai Immortal Mountain.
• On Little Mountain Peak, Ouyang accepted his new life and name, while Wang Yu left his master to seek instruction at White Cloud Temple.
• Ouyezi and Big Bai traveled from Chao Ge, and Ouyezi explained through the characters 人 and 命 why people should stand rather than kneel.
