| Great Emperor Realm | 1 2 | Emerges from seclusion after his breakthrough, accompanied by celestial visions and a voice that shakes the Three Thousand Great Worlds. His imperial pressure overwhelms the sect’s disciples and elders. |
Background / History
Yin Ya brought Chu Luo to the Forbidden Sect and accepted him as his only direct disciple. Chu Luo regarded him as family from that time onward, although the two later went more than a decade without seeing each other 2 3 9.
Before entering seclusion, Yin Ya secretly left Chu Luo all one thousand of the sect’s Forbidden Secret Arts. Chu Luo mastered them in two and a half years, but their lifespan costs left him with only two and a half years to live by the time Yin Ya returned 1 2.
After becoming a Great Emperor, Yin Ya acknowledged that he had never properly taught Chu Luo. Rather than enter the forbidden grounds as a sect ancestor, he chose to personally train him and guard his development, aiming to make him the Number Zero Sequence Disciple and junior sect master 1 3 36.
Appearance
- Elderly appearance: Introduced as an imposing old man; no specific clothing or hair color is established 1.
- Battle manifestation: Commands a gigantic, blood-red Great Emperor Dharma Form standing above an ocean of blood baleful intent 33 38 40.
- Eyes during combat: Shine with blood-red light when he confronts Great Emperor Baikong 33.
- Relaxed demeanor: After defeating Baikong, drops his imperial bearing and resembles an approachable “little old man next door” 34.
Personality
Yin Ya is fiercely protective of Chu Luo. On discovering his depleted lifespan, he immediately assumes someone has harmed him and threatens both the culprit and their ancestral graves. He later refuses to surrender Chu Luo even when seven Great Emperors threaten the Forbidden Sect with war 1 38.
His protectiveness is backed by practical care: he obtains lifespan-restoring herbs, arranges for their refinement into pills, and leaves concealed lifesaving measures with his disciple. He also takes exceptional pride in Chu Luo’s recognition; seeing Ancestor Burial Jade favor him makes Yin Ya happier than his own breakthrough did 30 36 42.
Outside the sect, Yin Ya has a reputation as a fearless menace who readily fights people he dislikes. He curses opponents openly, uses surprise attacks, and has little interest in maintaining a dignified Great Emperor persona. His habitual insults toward Zhao Sheng and enjoyment of Chu Luo’s praise reveal a teasing, boastful side 2 3 30 34.
Despite his aggression, he can exercise restraint. He holds back when striking fellow elder Zhao Sheng, deliberately spares Ye Luoyi with a reduced-force slap, and eventually accepts Pavilion Master Tianyu’s request to de-escalate their confrontation 2 47 48.
Abilities & Skills
Imperial Pressure
Yin Ya uses Great Emperor-level pressure to suppress opponents and shield allies.
- Forces disciples to their knees and overwhelms the Forbidden Sect’s elders; initially moderates his pressure out of respect for Sect Master Lin Feng 2.
- Blocks the combined pressure of seven Great Emperors without being forced down 38.
- Through his avatar, crushes Ye Luoyi’s sage pressure and later forces her to kneel 47.
- His pressure spreads through Heavenly Secret City and into the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion, exceeding Ancient Sage Lingyan’s ability to conceal it 47.
Great Emperor Dharma Form
His blood-red manifestation magnifies his battlefield presence, accompanied by tangible murderous intent and disturbances in the surrounding laws and Great Dao 33.
- Deploys it when challenging Baikong to an Emperor War 33.
- Uses it while preparing to defend Chu Luo against the seven invading Great Emperors 38.
- Commands it in the Outer Void battle alongside the Forbidden Sect’s ancestors 40.
Lifesaving Phantoms and Avatars
Yin Ya can leave portions of his power with Chu Luo, allowing him to intervene without his true body being present.
- Concealed protection: A phantom emerges from Chu Luo during the secret-realm crisis. Yin Ya identifies it as a small portion of his own power, unlike the Evil-Suppressing Great Emperor’s single-attack manifestation 30.
- Combat intervention: That phantom repeatedly attacks and ultimately destroys the opposing manifestation before sending Chu Luo toward the exit 30.
- Token-based summoning: A blood-red jade token summons his avatar when Ye Luoyi threatens to cripple Chu Luo 44 47.
- Continued availability: Before withdrawing, his projection tells Chu Luo to summon him again whenever someone attempts to bully him 49.
Movement and Group Relocation
- Moves everyone present from the sect hall to the arena square almost instantaneously 4.
- Reappears beside Lin Feng with a single step after treating Chu Luo 6.
- Travels into the Outer Void to fight other Great Emperors away from the immediate gathering 32 33 40.
Medicinal Potency Extraction
Yin Ya can separate a powerful herb’s medicinal potency from its life-restoring vitality.
- Draws the overwhelming potency of saint-grade Life-Giving Grass out of Chu Luo’s body, allowing him to retain its vitality safely 6.
- Restores Chu Luo’s lifespan from two and a half years to one thousand years through this treatment 6.
- Relies on Great Emperor Yaoming to refine the herbs he later gathers into Saint Longevity Pills 36.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Forbidden Secret Arts collection — Secretly entrusted all one thousand arts to Chu Luo before entering seclusion; the passages do not establish that Yin Ya himself mastered every art 2.
- Life-Giving Grass — Obtained from Zhao Sheng’s medicinal field and given to Chu Luo before his duel with Han Wujie 5 6.
- Lifespan-restoring herbs — Gathered from the deathlands for Chu Luo. The storage ring delivered to Yaoming contains dozens of saint herbs and several divine herbs 36.
- Blood-red jade token — Given to Chu Luo as a means of summoning his protective avatar 44 47.
- Saint Longevity Pills — Supplies Chu Luo with two bottles before his departure for the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion 44.
- Heavenly Kirin Horse — Claims Ye Qingxue’s horse after the confrontation in Heavenly Secret City and leaves it in Chu Luo’s care 48 49.
Relationships
- Chu Luo — His only direct disciple. Yin Ya seeks to make him the sect’s Number Zero Sequence Disciple and junior sect master, while Chu Luo regards him as family 1 3 9 36.
- Zhao Sheng — Fellow elder and longstanding rival. They routinely exchange insults; Yin Ya punches him over Chu Luo’s threatened expulsion and takes a herb from his medicinal field 2 5 6.
- Lin Feng — Sect master. Yin Ya respects his position sufficiently to moderate his imperial pressure, though Lin Feng frequently has to restrain his confrontational behavior 2 3.
- Ancient Sage Qingdan — Old friend from the Pill Sect. Yin Ya asks him for lifespan-restoring pills as a welcoming gift for Chu Luo 9.
- Great Emperor Yaoming — Pill Sect ally who protects the Forbidden Sect’s people during Yin Ya’s confrontation with Baikong and agrees to personally refine Chu Luo’s longevity pills 32 36.
- Great Emperor Baikong — Opponent from the Spiritclear Sect. Yin Ya challenges and defeats him after he demands Chu Luo’s imprisonment 32 33 34.
- Evil-Suppressing Great Emperor — Enemy whose protective phantom Yin Ya destroys while defending Chu Luo, provoking threats of revenge over Wang Lin’s death 30 35.
- Ye Luoyi — Ye Family Ancient Sage who attempts to cripple Chu Luo. Yin Ya’s avatar slaps her away and suppresses her under imperial pressure 47.
- Ancient Sage Lingyan — Heavenly Secrets Pavilion elder whom Yin Ya exposes for remaining hidden during Chu Luo’s danger and then publicly humiliates 48.
