Background / History

Rivalry with Bai Yun

Han Wujie previously lost to the Forbidden Sect’s Bai Yun in a secret realm. While retreating, he promised to visit the Forbidden Sect and challenge Bai Yun again. Ancient Sage Flame Lord later accompanied him to fulfill that challenge 3 4.

Bai Yun and the sect’s other ranked direct disciples were in seclusion when he arrived. Unwilling to leave without a fight, Han Wujie requested other opponents. After Lin Feng permitted the core disciples to challenge him, he swiftly defeated Wang Hao and every subsequent challenger, leaving the assembled disciples demoralized 4.

Defeat by Chu Luo

Chu Luo entered the arena to stop Han Wujie from humiliating the sect and declared that he would take his place on the Heavenly Prodigy Ranking. Han Wujie dismissed his Beginningless First Realm cultivation and offered to fight with only one hand 4 5.

Chu Luo’s Great Void Maitreya Palm injured him and destroyed the arena. Han Wujie then unleashed his Blazing Saint Physique and Blazing Flame God-Suppressing Spear. After raising his cultivation to the peak of the Beginningless Realm, Chu Luo countered with three Forbidden Secret Arts. The Soul-Devouring Evil God Eye struck Han Wujie’s soul, causing his power and spear manifestation to collapse 6 7.

Ancient Sage Flame Lord rescued him from Chu Luo’s remaining attacks but could not remove the force devouring his soul. He took Han Wujie back to Crimson Flame Valley, while the Heavenly Prodigy Ranking replaced Han Wujie’s name at No. 150 with Chu Luo’s 7 8.

Treatment and Revenge

A Crimson Flame Valley ancestor removed eighty percent of the soul-devouring power and sealed the remainder, declaring that Han Wujie’s life was no longer in danger. The ancestor also bestowed an emperor-grade combat technique and ordered him to kill Chu Luo at their next encounter 10.

Han Wujie subsequently joined Crimson Flame Valley’s expedition to the Great Emperor Secret Realm. Alongside Du Sheng and Zhao Tianyu, he planned revenge against Chu Luo and asked his senior brothers to leave Chu Luo to him at the end so he could repay his humiliation a hundredfold 15 16.

Death in the Great Emperor Secret Realm

After the Ancient Pill Great Emperor’s remnant soul disappeared, Han Wujie and Du Sheng turned their attention to the Forbidden Sect disciples. When Chu Luo reached the sea of fire, he found injured Forbidden Sect and Pill Sect disciples nearby, with Han Wujie standing over one of them. Han Wujie kicked the disciple aside and threatened that Chu Luo would not leave alive 22 24.

While everyone was distracted by Dan Chenzi’s breakthrough, Chu Luo used Spatial Displacement to appear within arm’s reach of Han Wujie and struck him with Calamity Poison Finger. Han Wujie had no time to react. The poison rapidly drained his vitality and spiritual power, rotting his flesh until his body became a puddle within a few breaths 25.

Appearance

  • Handsome young man with extraordinary bearing when he first enters the Forbidden Sect’s hall 3.
  • Deathly pale face and weakened aura after suffering the Soul-Devouring Evil God Eye 10.
  • Flames surrounding his body and fire blazing in his eyes when he unleashes his combat power 6 7.

Personality

Han Wujie is openly arrogant toward opponents he considers beneath him. He dismisses a core disciple’s challenge based on cultivation, refuses to hear Wang Hao’s name, and initially treats Chu Luo as unworthy of fighting him. His confidence has a practical limit: he hesitates to injure Chu Luo because he fears Yin Ya’s retaliation 4 5.

His determination to avenge defeat develops into vindictiveness. He seeks a rematch after losing to Bai Yun, vows to kill Chu Luo after receiving treatment, and later demands the chance to repay his humiliation a hundredfold. His treatment of an injured Forbidden Sect disciple shows his willingness to direct that hostility at weaker members of the rival sect 3 10 16 24.
