Luo Qingge spent years at the Moon-Gathering Tower following her master's teaching that the mortal world tempers the heart. She became disillusioned with visitors who used poetry and elegance to disguise their character, despite gaining widespread recognition as Chang'an's foremost Zither Immortal 29 30 321.

Lu Changfeng's rendition of “Dreaming of Heaven” impressed her enough to invite him into the Cloud-Deep Pavilion, where she performed her own composition, “Lonely Heart in Cloud Ravines.” He diagnosed her lung and kidney yin deficiency, linking her discomfort to musical exertion, excessive thought, sleeplessness, and disharmony between her mindset and cultivation. His prescription and advice helped resolve the condition 30 31 32 97.

When Yan Mingxiao questioned Lu Changfeng about Zhang Shouzhuo's death, Luo Qingge intervened to protect her guest. She maintained that he was her physician unless conclusive evidence established his involvement. Later, hearing that the Prince of Liang and Princess Anle might trouble him, she sent a letter offering assistance through the Heavenly Music Pavilion 31 32 82.

Heavenly Fowl Legacy

Luo Qingge and Yan Mingxiao discovered a legacy associated with Yang Xuan in the Ghost Market. Luo Qingge nearly emptied her purse bidding against another interested buyer. The legacy included the Bird Observation and Feather Identification Art and the sealed Heavenly Fowl Mysterious Music Casket 97 99.

Lu Changfeng unlocked the casket using its melody and the Formation Disk's rotations. Two jade rings then resonated to reveal a map of Mount Yangluo in Henei and clues pointing to the Bird-Speech Art within a mystic bone. Carefree Cave and Clear Spring Retreat

While shopping with Yan Mingxiao for supplies for their planned treasure hunt, Luo Qingge heard that an Earthcore Fire Jade Ganoderma was available in the Ghost Tower. She sought it to help Lu Changfeng advance his Shennong Glazed Glass Art, exposing herself to Wu Zhaoyun and his Illusory Desire Immortal-Ensnaring Gu 141 143.

Yan Mingxiao was gravely wounded protecting her, while Ink Jade flew to find Lu Changfeng. Luo Qingge escaped using Phoenix Dance Nine Heavens and resisted Wu Zhaoyun with sonic attacks, but the gu made her mistake him for Lu Changfeng. Rather than submit to Wu Zhaoyun, she attempted to take her own life; Lu Changfeng's voice restored enough clarity to stop her 141.

Lu Changfeng purged the poison and carried her to her secluded courtyard on Zhongnan Mountain at her request. Their relationship became intimate during her recovery, and they spent five days together at Clear Spring Retreat before preparing to return to their responsibilities 142 143 144 146.

Intelligence Work and Yang Xuan's Tomb

Her Bird-Speech Art became an important investigative resource. She helped Lu Changfeng plan a trap for Göktürk treasure seekers, tracked an adept from Zong Chuke's residence to Wu Youji's courtyard, and located Hundred-Knowledge Hall so Lu Changfeng could consult Xu Yuanzhi about the Imperial Seal 201 209 278.

After Lu Changfeng returned from Jiangnan, Luo Qingge recalled an Azure Luan mural in Yang Xuan's tomb. She guided him back to Mount Yangluo, where they found evidence of prior intruders. During the ensuing expedition, she searched Yang Xuan's peach orchard and discovered the blank third volume of the Wordless Heavenly Tome, together with a letter addressed “To whoever comes after” 320 321 324.

The recovered Azure Luan accompanied her back to Chang'an. Luo Qingge later visited Princess Taiping's Residence in person to monitor a major operation through reports from birds across the city, breaking her previous practice of contacting Lu Changfeng only by bird messenger 326 330.

Marriage Promise and Later Threats

After recounting his dangerous Bashu journey, Lu Changfeng asked Luo Qingge to marry him once the Dragon-Slaying City matter was settled. She accepted and later told Yan Mingxiao that she would remain with him despite his relationship with Princess Taiping 369 380.

Luo Qingge participated in the staged confrontation inside the Six-Direction Dark Yin Formation, healing the apparently injured Lu Changfeng and maintaining the appearance of distress as part of their deception. She subsequently saw him off toward the Eastern Sea and waited through his six-month absence 388 389 391 454.

On his return, Lu Changfeng gave her the Deathless Elixir and promised a future together lasting thousands of years. She welcomed Bai Qianqian to the Moon-Gathering Tower and urged him to visit the pregnant Li Lingyue, despite her own hurt over not having conceived 454.

When Lu Changfeng warned that Heart Demon Yu Zhou could target those he treasured, Luo Qingge and Bai Qianqian agreed to move to the Princess's Residence.
