Transmigration and System Awakening

Those memories returned when Nalan Yanran asked him to accompany her to annul her engagement to Xiao Yan; the Destined Great Villain system awakened at the same time 1.

Knowing Xiao Yan’s destined future, Sheng initially considered avoiding antagonizing him. The system’s rewards instead encouraged him to oppose protagonists and seize their opportunities. He chose Xiao Yan as an early target rather than Xiao Xun’er because she had a Dou Emperor-tier bodyguard 1.

Engagement Annulment and Wutan City

At the Xiao Clan reception, Sheng publicly insulted Xiao Zhan and defended the annulment as a matter of family standing and political benefit. He redirected blame toward the Xiao Clan for maintaining the engagement after its decline and Xiao Yan’s cultivation regression. His provocations earned villain points, including 1,000 for disrupting Xiao Yan’s iconic declaration 3 4 5.

Rather than return home to face his father and grandfather’s anger, Sheng stayed in Wutan City. He purchased ten Shadow Ninjas, developed his Water Clone Technique, and practiced marksmanship with the Infinite Desert Eagle 6 8 9.

Qingshan Town and Xiao Yi Xian

Sheng traveled to Qingshan Town to seek Xiao Yi Xian and the treasures of a nearby Dou Wang cave. Buying all 127 pieces of yellow lotus essence at the Myriad Medicine Pavilion allowed him to intercept the hidden blood lotus essence, earning 3,000 villain points 10.

After killing Mu Li and four mercenaries who attempted to rob him, Sheng entered the cave and claimed a Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame map fragment. Its 100,000-point reward funded the Flame-Flame Fruit. He subsequently killed Mu She and his accompanying mercenaries with Fire Fist and collected the remaining treasures 12 13 14.

He persuaded Xiao Yi Xian to serve and protect him by explaining how the Netherworld Poison Flame could contain the toxins of her Woeful Poison Body. She agreed on the condition that he not order her to harm innocents. He gave her the Seven-Colored Poison Scripture and offered access to his family’s and the Misty Cloud Sect’s intelligence networks 18.

Return to the Nalan Family

Back in Wutan City, Sheng outbid Xiao Zhan for Foundation Establishment Spirit Liquid, then exposed its disguised supplier as Xiao Yan. He accused Xiao Yan of concealing his cultivation and pretending to suffer from a mysterious illness 22 23.

While returning to the Imperial City with Xiao Yi Xian, Sheng visited Black Rock City’s Alchemist Guild. With Otto’s introduction, he traded rare spirit medicines to Gute for Ice Spirit Cold Spring, alchemy references, pill recipes, Dou Techniques, poison materials, and two fifth-tier magic cores 26 28.

At home, Xiao Yi Xian removed Nalan Jie’s brand poison, while Sheng revealed his Six-Star Dou Zhe cultivation. He attributed his gains and knowledge to an Ancient Dou Wang’s inheritance. His family subsequently arranged his engagement to Xiao Yi Xian, and his First-Rank Alchemist qualification became the occasion for a celebratory banquet 29 30 31 32.

Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils Instance

After reaching Eight-Star Dou Zhe, Sheng entered the Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils world. He chose it over his available Demon Slayer instance because he judged its strongest opponent manageable with his existing powers 34.

He rescued Zhong Ling and Duan Yu, claimed the Northern Darkness Divine Skill and Lingbo Steps, and took the jade statue from Langhuan Blessed Land. He later rescued Mu Wanqing, removed her veil, and accepted the resulting marriage obligation. He gave her the two martial arts manuals to strengthen her ability to defend herself 35 36 37 38 40.

In Dali, Sheng exposed Duan Yanqing as Duan Yu’s biological father. Dao Baifeng then killed herself, and Sheng killed Duan Yanqing and Ye Erniang. His eventual reputation as the killer of the Four Great Evils was deliberately publicized by Dali’s rulers 43 44 47 48.

Sheng agreed to help Heavenly Dragon Temple resist Jumozhi, while a Shadow Ninja obtained the Six Meridians Divine Sword manual for him. After leaving Dali with Mu Wanqing and Zhong Ling, he met Qiao Feng in Wuxi. He later secured A Zhu’s service in exchange for saving Feng Bo’e and threatened retaliation when Beggar Gang members surrounded his party against Qiao Feng’s orders 44 45 47 49.

Appearance

Sheng is a handsome youth with sword-like eyebrows, starry eyes, and a strong resemblance to Nalan Yanran 1.

• Family resemblance: His face is described as 70–80% similar to his twin sister’s 1 26.
• Clothing: Commonly wears black robes or fitted training clothes; later wears a black alchemist’s robe at his family’s banquet 1 9 10 32.

Personality

Sheng is pragmatic, calculating, and willing to exploit his knowledge of the original stories. He openly treats marriage alliances as arrangements serving family interests, manipulates accusations to disadvantage Xiao Yan, and prioritizes opportunities that generate villain points 1 3 23.

His confidence is tempered by caution. He avoids provoking Xiao Xun’er’s protector, sends Shadow Ninjas to locate the Dou Wang cave before entering the mountains, and chooses a weaker instance world rather than seek a dangerous challenge 1 11 34.

He is ruthless toward enemies but attentive to people close to him. He kills would-be robbers and pursuers without hesitation, yet provides Mu Wanqing with food, protection, and cultivation manuals. Despite his willingness to kill, the smell of the mercenaries burned by Fire Fist makes him vomit 12 14 40.
