Wendy was a little confused. Hadn't she told the truth?

She really had felt something being stuffed into her mind. She hadn't said anything wrong.

But Eros had no intention of explaining. The smile on his face was simply a little strange.

The days that followed were peaceful. Eros attended classes during the day, then dragged the red-haired girl off to eat. At night, he teased Wendy, or Joni when she occasionally stayed over.

Saliba, on the other hand, seemed unable to believe it. His gaze kept flicking toward Wendy, then back to the pocket watch in his hand, which showed no response whatsoever. His face was full of confusion and helplessness.

One day, while Eros was wandering around alone, Saliba walked straight up to him and demanded furiously:

"You found out, didn't you? It had to be you, didn't it?"

Eros looked at the blue-haired boy before him in surprise and asked, puzzled:

"What are you talking about? What did I find out?"

Saliba was so furious that he began blurting things out without thinking:

"The Spirit-Favored Body! Where did Wendy's Spirit-Favored Body go?"

At those words, Eros narrowed his eyes, and the expression faded from his face. So that really was what this blue-haired boy was after.

An instant later, Eros relaxed again and said casually, as though it meant nothing:

"Oh, that? I sacrificed her after discovering it! Is there a problem?"

Saliba's expression froze. Then, his face filled with disbelief, he said:

"Impossible! That's absolutely impossible! If you sacrificed her, how could Wendy still be alive?"

Eros looked rather speechless. "Doesn't a sacrifice grant you a wish? Don't you know that? My wish was to bring Wendy back to life!"

Saliba opened his mouth, looking as sick as though he had swallowed a fly. That was a chance to ask a Great One for a wish, and you just wasted it like that???

Saliba could hardly believe it. Only after a long while did he recover enough to say:

"Don't you know that the Wendy who came back to life isn't her anymore?"

"I know!"

"Then why did you..."

"I only need an obedient Wendy. What does it matter whether she's the original?" Eros chuckled, then turned and left.

Saliba froze where he stood, his mouth hanging open. After standing there for a long time, his expression suddenly twisted with malice. You dared steal our Augustine Family's opportunity, and you even dared admit it to my face. You're dead. You're dead...

He immediately prepared to go to the dean's office and report Eros for secretly worshipping an evil god. As for whether Eros would drag him down too after being reported, he wasn't worried in the slightest.

His family was royalty. They had countless ways to conceal their activities. Even if the churches really came to investigate, there was nothing to fear.

And Eros? He was merely a country noble whose ancestors had earned the churches' favor by killing Night Remnants and received a title for it.

When it comes to resources and methods, his family probably isn't even fit to carry my shoes. Yet a family like that dared defy me over and over, and even stole the opportunity that belonged to me. They're practically begging to die.

Inside the dean's office, all three deans looked at the indignant Saliba before them with strange expressions.

"Dean, you must believe me! This Eros is far too brazen. He actually dares worship an evil god right under the Three Great Churches' noses."

"A degenerate like him is a stain on the academy's sanctity. Please order both of them to stand trial immediately!"

The three deans exchanged glances. Seeing that none of them seemed to believe him, Saliba hurriedly said:

"I swear on the reputation of my Augustine Family that Eros is definitely worshipping an evil god. Wendy may even already be dead, and the one we see now is very likely an evil spirit from the Abyss impersonating her!"

The three deans still wore strange expressions. One of them had heard that Saliba had pursued Wendy and been rejected, so he explained the matter to the other two.

Understanding dawned on their faces. Dean Como immediately addressed Saliba, unsure whether to laugh or cry:

"Do you know what bloodline Eros carries?"

Saliba replied in confusion, "Yes, the Elf Race. What does..." As he spoke, something seemed to occur to him, leaving his face full of shock, doubt, and disbelief.

Seeing this, Dean Como nodded. "Our churches' historical records contain accounts of the Elf Race, and every one praises them as kind, compassionate, elegant, and peace-loving."

"How could someone who inherited the bloodline of such a race worship an evil god? Besides..."

Dean Como did not finish, but the other two deans understood.

It wasn't as though the Elf Race had no god of its own. Moreover, that god was one of the oldest in this world.

Besides, the one who had bestowed Eros's bloodline was only a single step away from becoming a Great One. Did he really need to worship an evil god?

Even after leaving the building, Saliba's head was still buzzing. What the hell was going on?

That guy clearly worshipped an evil god. He had clearly sacrificed Wendy.

So why wouldn't they believe me? Just because he had the bloodline of the Elf Race?

That's right! If he had the bloodline of the Elf Race, why would he make a sacrifice to an evil god?

Why? What on earth was going on? Shock, confusion, disbelief, suspicion, bewilderment-he simply couldn't understand.

For the next few days, Saliba seemed rather dazed, and he stopped pestering Wendy. After all, in his eyes, the current Wendy was nothing more than an evil spirit from the Abyss.

The other students, however, thought the prince had been crushed by Wendy's repeated rejections.

It was just as well Eros didn't know this idiot had reported him. Otherwise, he really would have laughed out loud.
