Meanwhile, in the wilderness northeast of Fog Town.
An army of Cultists made up of over fifty elites wandered aimlessly through the dead grass and black mist.
Leading the group were Ovid, whom the High Priest had entrusted with this important mission, and the deputy squad leaders, [Give Me Your Phone] and [You've Cried Already].
At the very rear, the tall Priest Enkai strolled leisurely behind them, serving as the squad's heavy-hitting backup.
But at that moment, the atmosphere among the group was rather strange and lax.
Earlier that morning, when they had first left headquarters.
Every one of these Cultists had acted as though a formidable enemy awaited them, their nerves stretched to the breaking point.
They gripped their Bone Blades and Magic Staffs tightly, their eyes wide as saucers, practically itching to turn every patch of grass upside down.
In their minds, since Winterhold's Knights had already infiltrated the outskirts of the Black Forest, ambushes had to be lurking everywhere nearby!
For all they knew, several Holy Knights in silver armor might suddenly leap out from behind some random roadside rock and bring their enormous glowing swords down on their heads!
And what happened?
They had swaggered around the outskirts of the Black Forest for an entire morning!
They hadn't seen so much as a shadow of a Winterhold Knight.
Later, Ovid had worked up his courage and ordered the squad to sneak toward Fog Town's barrier.
They had spent ages watching from outside Fog Town. There were indeed townspeople repairing houses inside, but they still hadn't spotted a single Winterhold Knight!
"This is fucking weird."
One of the rank-and-file Cultists wiped the sweat from his forehead and couldn't help muttering, "Did those Winterhold bastards just head straight home after killing our people?"
"Yeah, it's way too quiet.
