Meanwhile...
In a secluded valley not far from the main battlefield.
"Hyah! Hyah!"
Ma Lou and his three companions rode two warhorses, galloping along the valley's narrow, rock-strewn path.
More than twenty rank-and-file Cultists charged doggedly after them, Bone Blades in hand.
"Whew... this should do."
Jiahao, who was in the lead, suddenly hauled back on the reins and calmly surveyed their surroundings.
Once he confirmed that no one else was nearby, a small wisp of ash stirred over his right eye, and the decorative Monocle appeared on his face once again.

"Cut the horses' legs off! Flay that scrawny monkey alive!"
"You dared provoke our captain?"
"Today, I'm cutting off that filthy mouth of yours and sewing it onto a Mutant Hound's ass!"
The twenty-odd Cultists spread into a semicircle, sealing off the valley's only exit.
Bloodlust gleamed in every pair of eyes, as though they could already see these four refugees being skinned and having their tendons ripped out.
Yet the four "Fog Town refugees" on horseback showed not the slightest fear of their impending deaths.
Ma Lou even leisurely wiped his hands on Jiahao's clothes, his gaze as cold as if he were looking at a pile of walking experience packs:
"Old Ji's 'lure the mobs out and kill them' tactic really does work every time..."
"But one thing's really pissing me off!"
Ma Lou
