But people outside were so devious. Without someone to guide them, wouldn't they get swindled out of everything, right down to their underwear?

Even Doggie stopped barking.
Just as things were getting awkward, Zhi Li and Great Sage came over. Zhi Li asked outright, "Are you done fighting? Dinner's ready! It's a proper feast!"
"Let's eat first and talk afterward," Bai Yaoyao said.
Taking them into Dark Night was out of the question, but she could certainly work out a plan to bring all of Huaguo's top fighters outside the Authorities onto her side.
Or, to be bolder, even the Authorities could be on her side.
Great Sage and Zhi Li had each made five dishes, but there were simply too many people for that to be enough. Bai Yaoyao took plenty more food out of her space.
She also tossed out the Mutant Sheep they had encountered on the way. Great Sage expertly set up a roasting rack, arranged the firewood, and patted Doggie's rump, prompting a fireball.
Zhi Yi and the others watched in stunned amazement.
Zhi Rui, however, remarked, "Senior Brother, your space is such a waste on you. There's nothing in it."
Zhi Yi: If you can't say anything sensible, keep your mouth shut.
Bai Yaoyao found a few large tables. "Come on, everyone, sit down. Let's talk while we eat. I'm glad we met today. We got to know each other through a fight, so let's toast with tea instead of wine and have a good chat."
