The surrounding terrain lay completely exposed, without a single place to take cover. There were only a few scattered trees. While they still had time, some planted bombs and others raised earthen walls, keeping everyone busy.
Then the underground creatures came into view.
Their bodies were pitch-black and ironlike, shaped much like centipedes. Their mouths bristled with fangs, two curved horns protruded from their heads, and long iron tails covered in scales trailed behind them.
Their dark bodies gleamed brilliantly in the sunlight. They swarmed in such dense numbers that, as far as the eye could see, the entire ground seemed blanketed in black.
"Holy shit, what the hell are those? I've never seen anything like them!" Xiao Shiliu was stunned.
Bai Yaoyao answered gravely, "Sawtooth Beasts. They're a type of mutated insect.
"Watch out for their feelers. They're venomous. If you accidentally get scratched, retreat into the Protective Shield immediately and find Xiaomi to detoxify you. If the poison stays in your system too long, it'll paralyze your nerves."
"Got it!"
Everyone first detonated the hundred or so land mines they had just planted. Bai Yaoyao also used her spatial ability to deposit some bombs behind the Sawtooth Beasts.
Black blood instantly splattered everywhere, giving off a nauseating smell.
"Sister Yao, is that smell poisonous?"
"Brief exposure is fine, but too much will make you dizzy and lightheaded. Let's finish this quickly. Charge!"
As soon as Bai Yaoyao finished speaking, everyone and all the Beasts attacked together.
Although Sawtooth Beasts weren't particularly powerful, they came in enormous numbers. Any encounter meant at least ten thousand of them. In Bai Yaoyao's previous life, they had been something everyone dreaded running into.
Wherever Bai Yaoyao's Spatial Storm struck, it left a whole patch of empty ground.
