Ch. 621Weren't You Here to Recruit Them?

Ye Buyu and her companions fought the Scavenger Calamities, who mistook their arrival for an attempt to seize the Scavengers Outpost. After learning the outpost’s connection to the Primordial Beginning Tower, Ye Buyu called for the Calamities to choose their own future as a screen appeared above them.

  • Old Sheephead accused Wei Changming of sending them against unusually dangerous opponents, while Ye Buyu lamented being dragged into the fight.
  • Wan Lan returned after fighting two Calamities and told Ye Buyu that their teammates had gone to break through.
  • Wu Dan arrived and asked Ye Buyu to spare the Scavengers Outpost, revealing that the Primordial Beginning Tower had founded it.
  • Ji Wangsheng argued that the Scavengers had long been independent and should be free to choose which faction to join.
  • Ye Buyu declared that the Calamities should decide their own futures, then addressed them as a screen appeared above the crowd.

Ch. 622Come to Floating City, the Land of Dreams

Ye Buyu offered the Scavengers Outpost Calamities a place in Floating City rather than urging them to join the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty or Black Plague. Her pitch sparked interest in Floating City and ended with Wu Dan agreeing to join its partners.

  • Ye Buyu introduced herself as a Navigator of the End of the World and Hall Master of the Salvation Hall of Fame, then let Qian Tu and Ji Wangsheng present their factions.
  • Qian Tu invited Calamities to join the expanding Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty, while Ji Wangsheng sought recruits for Black Plague.
  • Wu Dan warned Ye Buyu and Wan Lan that the Scavengers Outpost's vulnerable residents would be left without protection if most Calamities departed.
  • Ye Buyu promoted Floating City as a place where the Scavengers could become valuable resource suppliers and potential partners alongside several major factions.
  • Ye Buyu displayed a Divine Status, claiming it could help condense a true Divine Status, and attracted the Calamities' attention.
  • After Qian Tu and Ji Wangsheng challenged Ye Buyu, Wu Dan noted the Primordial Beginning Tower had not joined Floating City, and Ye Buyu invited her to do so; Wu Dan accepted.

Ch. 623Ye Buyu stepped up

Ye Buyu tried to establish Floating City as a trading haven by recruiting factions and offering Calamities a choice, but Qian Tu and Ji Wangsheng threatened to undermine the plan. She confronted them with the Salvation Hall of Fame’s backing and invited them to Floating City, while a new voice questioned whether she could handle them alone.

  • Ye Buyu created a Floating City group chat, announced that the Scavengers faction had joined her side, and told the others to handle negotiations with resource suppliers and Calamities.
  • Ye Buyu explained to Qian Tu how Floating City could connect factions, provide security, and help create a broader balance between civilizations.
  • Qian Tu and Ji Wangsheng said the outposts would end and that Calamities could choose to join them, warning that those who had not reached Floating City might lack its protection.
  • Ye Buyu said she would bring forward plans for teleportation arrays and challenged Qian Tu and Ji Wangsheng by threatening to use Thousand Winds Banishment.
  • Ye Buyu invited Qian Tu and Ji Wangsheng to visit Floating City, then stopped Cangyuan from attacking the Black Plague.
  • An unidentified voice asked Ji Wangsheng whether Ye Buyu alone would be enough.

Ch. 624Settling It with One Hammer Blow

Ye Buyu took Ji Wangsheng and Qian Tu to Floating City, then the Scavengers Outpost’s Calamities weighed their options and many chose to follow. Floating City began inviting Scavengers and building teleportation arrays, while a squad from Judgment, Primordial Beginning Tower, and End of the World arrived at the outpost.

  • Ye Buyu pressured Ji Wangsheng and Qian Tu into coming to Floating City, and she took Elder Wu Dan along as well.
  • Xiehu decided to lead his caravan to Floating City, and the Arena’s Calamities concluded that the outpost was no longer safe and chose to go too.
  • Floating City sent Invitation Letters offering guests a free teleportation-array use and announced plans to build arrays at major outposts.
  • Calamities mocked Floating City’s plans until they spotted members of Judgment and Primordial Beginning Tower arriving with humans.
  • The arriving squad discussed how the Arena’s Calamity Tide had nearly destroyed the Scavengers Outpost, and the three newcomers praised Hold Up the Heavens.

Ch. 625Honored guests, please enter

The End of the World team built a teleportation passage in Scavengers Outpost’s busiest area and used force to stop Calamities from ambushing visitors. Their offer of friendship left the humans and Calamities wondering how their Navigator had managed to get along with them so well.

  • The End of the World team chose the busiest part of Scavengers Outpost for the teleportation device, hoping to lure troublemakers into a trap, and the Judgment Executor agreed to help.
  • Calamities plotting to rob the team decided to attack the passage, but several genuine Invitation Letter holders entered Floating City first.
  • A group of Calamities tried to ambush the visitors, but three people from the End of the World swiftly beat them and kicked them through the passage.
  • The three warned the watching Calamities not to cause trouble and agreed to befriend those who approached them as welcome guests.
  • When the End of the World team asked why their Navigator got along with Calamities, the humans and Calamities were left baffled.

Ch. 626Ye Buyu's Sense of Crisis

Ye Buyu oversaw Floating City’s defenses and resource gathering while explaining that an impending breakthrough was driving her to unite the fighting forces. The chapter ended with her waiting for the far end of a growing Red Thread to reveal the opportunity she needed.

  • Three people from the End of the World insulted their Navigators for Level Twelve materials, then caught the Calamity who tried to avoid paying them.
  • Xiehu arrived at Floating City and saw hostile Calamities bound and flown like kites while newcomers were sorted according to their intentions.
  • Ye Buyu told [Stagnation] that the bound Calamities would provide resources and demonstrate Floating City’s security to others.
  • Qian Tu asked whether Ye Buyu meant to unite the factions against the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty, but Ye Buyu said she only wanted balance and lacked time for that plan.
  • Ye Buyu revealed that she was close to breaking through and said she was accelerating Floating City’s construction because she feared what might happen if she delayed.
  • Ye Buyu told the others that she saw a Red Thread growing clearer and believed its other end might mark the opportunity for her breakthrough.

Ch. 627We will build an era

Ye Buyu was abducted by the Chief of the Salvation Hall of Fame just as she was about to undergo rank advancement, prompting her allies to hurry after them. Meanwhile, the Horizon Team committed to connecting the End of the World with the wider universe and making its civilization indispensable.

  • A mysterious hand dragged Ye Buyu through a vortex, and Wan Lan and [Stagnation] failed to stop it.
  • Little Whale revealed that the Chief had taken Ye Buyu to the Salvation Hall of Fame's Headquarters, alarming Suiyang and Cangyuan because Ye Buyu was about to undergo rank advancement.
  • Wan Lan contacted Horizon and her family, while Wind-Thunder and the others feared the consequences of Ye Buyu's abduction.
  • The Horizon Team decided to stabilize the situation by building teleportation devices and an interstellar network, and by contacting Rift, the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty, and Black Plague.
  • Wei Changming and Meng He explained that the End of the World would build ties with the universe and spread the Present World's civilization, inspiring Wind-Thunder and Those Without a Home.
  • The Six declared that they would make the End of the World indispensable to the universe and carry its civilization farther.

Ch. 628Wind-Thunder gathers momentum

Wind-Thunder accepted the End of the World’s mission to build an Interstellar Network and entered the Black Plague to invite it to join. After advancing to the Twelfth Rank, Wind-Thunder challenged the Black Plague’s doubts about the plan, but [Plague] remained unconvinced.

  • Wei Changming and the Horizon Team asked Wind-Thunder to help establish the Interstellar Network through the Floating City and support Calamities seeking to restore their Civilizations.
  • Guan Xiaomei gave Wind-Thunder an Observation Station token, and the team entrusted it with the legacy of those who came before.
  • Wind-Thunder comprehended Origin Power, entered the Twelfth Rank, and declared that it would take the job.
  • At the Rift, Weier approved the plan, while several Calamities recognized the corroded token and connected it to the End of the World.
  • Wind-Thunder invited the Black Plague to join the Interstellar Network and described it as a way to connect people and Calamities and recover Lost Civilizations.
  • [Plague] warned that the cruel world had no room for Wind-Thunder’s vision, and Wind-Thunder replied that they would not know unless they tried.

Ch. 629A past worth looking back on

Wind-Thunder persuaded [Plague] to cooperate, then heard Ji Wangsheng recount how she once knew a man carrying a matching token and began telling the history of the Great Decline Epoch. Ji Wangsheng left the story at the era’s devastation and the birth of [War].

  • Wind-Thunder answered [Plague]’s questions about its origins and beliefs, and [Plague] agreed to cooperate with it.
  • [Plague] gave Wind-Thunder a jar of medicinal wine and asked Ji Wangsheng to see it out.
  • Ji Wangsheng recognized Wind-Thunder’s token and told how a man carrying a similar one had become her companion, stolen from her treasure vault, and vanished.
  • Ji Wangsheng began recounting the Great Decline Epoch, describing the fall of Floating City, centuries of conflict, and the birth of [War].
  • Ji Wangsheng explained that her Teacher, [Plague], had lived through that era, when plague spread amid mass death and survivors had nowhere to flee.

Ch. 630The active seniors of the Present World

Wind-Thunder entered the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty to invite it to join Floating City’s upcoming Interstellar Network and learned that the Present World’s seniors had already secured help for it. Qian Tu and [Darkness] accepted the invitation, then Qian Tu revealed that a dying Calamity had once arranged for her to assist anyone carrying the Signal Device.

  • After hearing Black Plague’s tragic origins, Wind-Thunder reached the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty but was initially turned away.
  • A passing Calamity gave Wind-Thunder an Entry Permit, and another guide directed it to Qian Tu’s Palace after noticing its Signal Device.
  • [Darkness] took Wind-Thunder’s Signal Device and Token, asked whether they came from Primordial Beginning Tower, and returned them.
  • Wind-Thunder invited the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty to join the Interstellar Network that Floating City would construct, and [Darkness] accepted on the Eldest Sister’s instructions.
  • Qian Tu recognized the Signal Device and explained that a dying Calamity had asked her to help or spare anyone who carried it.

Ch. 631A Wager Neither Won

Qian Tu learned that the Void Order had forged its own path back to the Present World, while [Darkness] recalled a wager with a stubborn woman from the Primordial Beginning Tower. The woman never admitted defeat or became a Calamity, and [Darkness] still did not know whether she had survived.

  • Qian Tu asked Wind-Thunder about the people who had helped Calamities, and Wind-Thunder identified them as the Void Order, the End of the World's former land of ideals and the first Man-Made Calamity to return to the Present World.
  • [Darkness] recognized the token and recounted how she had met a woman from the Primordial Beginning Tower while the woman was dealing with the Scavengers.
  • [Darkness] and the woman repeatedly wagered on whether the woman would survive each crisis, with [Darkness] agreeing to handle the trouble if she did.
  • After an ambush poisoned the woman and left her near death, [Darkness] chose not to mark her as a Calamity and instead sent her back to the Primordial Beginning Tower.
  • [Darkness] told Wind-Thunder she never learned whether the woman awoke or died, and Wind-Thunder remarked that the woman might have become a turncoat in the Dark Abyss Calamity Dynasty.

Ch. 632The Conflict Between Body and Heart

Wind-Thunder learned that the previous Azure Dragon had been sent home by [Darkness], who was then called Glimmer, and reflected with the princesses on the contradictions of calamities born during the Great Decline. He revealed that he and his companions had killed [Iron Prison], leaving them wondering whether [War] also wanted to die and what had caused the Peak Epoch to end so abruptly.

  • [Darkness] told Wind-Thunder that the woman she had once sent home used the code name Azure Dragon, and Wind-Thunder planned to ask the current Azure Dragon Division Chief about her.
  • In the River of Forgetfulness, Ping-jie recalled that Glimmer had sent her home and said she still wanted to thank her, while dismissing the idea that Wind-Thunder needed a warning.
  • [Darkness] told Qian Tu that Ye Buyu had been the person whose path crossed hers, then explained how she and Qian Tu had pursued goals that conflicted with their origins as calamities.
  • Wind-Thunder argued that [War] might not be contradictory, but [Darkness] said it had abandoned its exclusive subject and might have sought its own death.
  • Wind-Thunder revealed that he and his companions had killed [Iron Prison], then asked whether [War] might also have wanted to die and whether hidden factors had ended the Peak Epoch.

Ch. 633There's no living like this

Ye Buyu was dropped into the Calamities’ lair and found herself face-to-face with the chained [War], who wanted to bargain for freedom. When she refused to help cover the duty Calamity’s shift as the sun, the Calamities turned their greedy attention toward her.

  • Ye Buyu woke among the Calamities, learned that the place’s light came from a Calamity acting as the sun, and tried to survive by answering their questions.
  • Ye Buyu recognized the chained [War], who proposed concealing her identity in exchange for being released, but she refused.
  • [Withering] interrupted their confrontation and questioned Ye Buyu about her connection to [War].
  • The bird-headed Calamity who Ye Buyu had knocked from the sky asked her to cover its shift as the sun, and Ye Buyu claimed she was too injured to help.
  • The Calamities turned their blazing, greedy gazes on Ye Buyu after she refused the shift.

Ch. 634There really was no way to survive!

Trapped in the Seal Land, Ye Buyu provoked the Calamities by claiming to be Cause and Effect, hoping to survive a fight she had no chance of winning. War recognized that she was human but concealed its suspicions, calling her a special Calamity named Ye.

  • Ye Buyu realized that unleashing enough power might draw the chains’ attention, then struck at her pursuers and challenged them to fight her one at a time.
  • When Many-Faced asked her name, Ye Buyu answered, “Cause and Effect,” and the Calamities stopped to stare at her.
  • Ye Buyu saw a massive red thread connecting her to the Calamities and realized the dangerous opponents might offer the breakthrough she had been seeking.
  • Withering questioned War about whether Ye Buyu was truly Cause and Effect, and War wondered how a human could be connected to the power that had influenced time.
  • War avoided revealing its suspicions and told the Calamities that Ye Buyu had once been a somewhat special Calamity named Ye.

Ch. 635Come on, who's next?

Ye Buyu provoked the bird-headed Calamity into using its Origin, triggering the Night Realm’s chains and forcing it to become the realm’s sun. With her opponent restrained, she challenged the other Calamities to fight so she could pursue her breakthrough.

  • The bird-headed Calamity mocked Ye Buyu and threatened her after she pinched its beak shut.
  • Ye Buyu attacked with her spear, and the bird-headed Calamity fought back with black flames and feather daggers.
  • Ye Buyu detonated the cause-and-effect power she had planted and forced the bird-headed Calamity to unleash its Origin.
  • The Night Realm’s chains pierced the bird-headed Calamity and dragged it into the sky, where it had to serve as the realm’s sun.
  • Ye Buyu declared that she would keep fighting until she reached her breakthrough and called for the next opponent.

Ch. 636True Domination

Ye Buyu faced the peak level thirteen Calamities and challenged [Withering] to make her use her ability, but he brutally beat her while she healed. She rose again and severed [Withering]’s foot, leaving the Calamities stunned as she confronted him.

  • [Monarch] identified himself and explained that Ye Buyu was trying to provoke the Calamities into triggering the restrictions.
  • [Withering] challenged Ye Buyu, promising to eat her if she could not force him to use Origin Power.
  • [Withering] kicked, punched, and repeatedly stomped Ye Buyu until she lay mangled in a crater.
  • Ye Buyu grabbed [Withering]’s ankle and severed his foot with a red thread.
  • Ye Buyu stood amid the silence, tossed aside [Withering]’s foot, and asked if he had enjoyed stomping on her.

Ch. 637Rank Advancement

Ye Buyu broke through a realm and gained a deeper grasp of her Origin Power, using red threads to attack [Withering] by severing cause and effect. The battle continued as she struck him, while [Withering] excitedly demanded more.

  • As Ye Buyu hovered near death, red threads gathered around her and carried her beyond the Sea of Stars, where she glimpsed the character for “night.”
  • Ye Buyu returned to her body as the Night Realm shook, and the Calamities saw her break through a realm and ascend in rank.
  • Ye Buyu told the Calamities she had one minute, then charged [Withering] with her silver spear.
  • Ye Buyu’s spear severed a segment of cause and effect, causing an old wound on [Withering]’s shoulder to reopen.
  • Ye Buyu punched [Withering], unleashing energy that scorched his insides, and he urged her to keep attacking.

Ch. 638A Glimpse of Peerless Scenery

Ye Buyu fought [Withering] and briefly glimpsed Peerless Scenery, drawing the attention of the Fourteenth Tier Calamities. After they agreed not to attack her again, she began healing beside [War], who wondered what the others would think if they learned she was the Hall Master of the Salvation Hall of Fame.

  • Ye Buyu used her spear and then seven stomps to defeat [Withering], who became fixated on the glimpse of Peerless Scenery she had seen.
  • Ye Buyu withdrew to heal, and [Madness] approached her and kissed her bloodstained hair, prompting Ye Buyu to flee from her.
  • [Withering] tried to continue fighting Ye Buyu, but [Madness] stopped him because she also wanted a chance at Peerless Scenery.
  • [History-Eater] warned [Madness] and [Withering] that Ye Buyu was planning to run, while [Self-Imprisonment] introduced herself, [Thought-Madness], and [History-Eater] and promised the Calamities would not attack Ye Buyu again.
  • Ye Buyu chose to heal and clean herself beside [War], who asked what she planned to do there, and she replied that she had been thrown in.

Ch. 639Idle Talk in the Night Realm

Ye Buyu learned that the Night Realm held Calamities sealed for different reasons, while the others became interested in her power to perceive sights beyond the Fourteenth Tier. After she refused to heal [Withering] for free, he paid her for a shot and discovered that her healing could erase Calamity Power but did not seriously harm him.

  • [Madness] teased Ye Buyu about being trapped in the Night Realm, while [Withering] warned her that the Calamities wanted something from her.
  • The old woman told Ye Buyu that she had touched something tied to sights beyond the Fourteenth Tier, and [Thought-Madness] remarked that Cause and Effect could become a Calamity.
  • [History-Eater] explained that many Calamities had been sealed in the Night Realm as threats or placed there for protection, and Ye Buyu admitted she knew nothing about the realm.
  • A Calamity created a pavilion and scenic surroundings for the group, while [Withering] asked Ye Buyu to heal his injuries.
  • Ye Buyu shot [Withering] between the eyebrows, and he found that her power erased Calamity Power but only felt like a recoverable blow to him.
  • [Withering] gave Ye Buyu part of his finger as payment, and she warned that her healing would be more effective if he let her use it without restraint.

Ch. 640Let's Play a Game

Ye Buyu learned about the Night Realm and the Calamities from [Madness], who then forced everyone into a game about revealing how they were born. Ye Buyu threw [Self-Imprisonment]'s Walking Stick, and it flew toward [Withering].

  • [Withering] explained that the Night Realm was created by the Salvation Hall of Fame to contain Calamities, while [Madness] claimed to be the first Calamity there and told Ye Buyu how several others had arrived.
  • [Madness] grabbed Ye Buyu and played with her hair while answering questions, then asked Ye Buyu how she had been born.
  • [Madness] proposed a game in which whoever was struck on the head by [Self-Imprisonment]'s Walking Stick had to reveal how they were born, and the Calamities warned Ye Buyu that she could not refuse.
  • [Madness] made Ye Buyu throw the Walking Stick, which flew toward [Withering].
  • The old woman explained that the Walking Stick chose its target according to the thrower's wishes.
