Chen Luo began absorbing crystals as well. A single level-six crystal would not be enough to bring him to level five, but with a level-five crystal too, things were different. He had already absorbed quite a few level-one crystals.
Chen Luo started with the level-six crystal. If he could spare the level-five crystal, he would save it for Mi Ling, Mi Li, and the others to use for their breakthroughs.
He had given the Rat King's crystal to Wang Ling so she could reach level three sooner. Raising her level as a Light user was more useful than raising anyone else's.
When his body began to feel swollen and sore, Chen Luo stopped absorbing. He had used roughly two-fifths of the level-six crystal's energy.
Chen Luo was very satisfied. A level-six crystal really was good stuff.
The annoying relatives were gone, but after what had happened with Zhang Jingjing, Mi Li was still in low spirits. Going through this would make her stronger inside, too.
All Chen Luo could do was hold her and comfort her. He had not intended to bring Rice along, but Rice pitifully begged to
