The arrival of Total Blackout Day made little difference inside the base. As long as they didn't think too hard about it, it felt as though night simply never ended. Lights blazed everywhere inside the base, but the world outside was terrifying.

Before heading downstairs, everyone in 3A gathered in Qin Luo's apartment again to check the Forum together. The satellite images showed even fewer scattered points of light.
Only the Three Major Bases still shone brightly. Thankfully, the rescue efforts had brought many more small bases' lights into view than before.
Headquarters was still working hard to establish rapid transport routes between the bases.
Once those were ready, the bases could send supplies to one another, restoring logistics links. That would make mutual support easier and help ensure people's survival.
The news put everyone considerably more at ease. After a night of discussion, Headquarters had also decided to announce Total Blackout Day.
They didn't know how everyone else felt, but the ability users were fairly numb to it. With the apocalypse upon them, what could they do besides accept it? Besides, the world outside was reportedly very dangerous.
The arrival of the Little Ice Age had already sent temperatures plummeting nationwide. Now they had Total Blackout Day on top of that-the Lizard People's favorite time.
And with meteorites falling intermittently lately, going out on missions was far too dangerous.
Thankfully, the search-and-rescue effort was already ninety-five percent complete. The major cities had been searched again and again, and all the ordinary people who had managed to survive had been rescued.
The remaining five percent consisted of a small number of ability users and private bases, possibly along with some mutated people still stranded outside. Those would have to wait.
The main priority now was keeping people in the
