Background / History

Qin Luo attended middle school with Xu Duoduo, who was both his deskmate and class monitor. He was known as the school heartthrob and a troublesome student whose homework she repeatedly chased him to finish. Their contact faded after graduation, but he continued naming her as his first love during games of Truth or Dare 5 9 35 340.

He later joined the military alongside Wang Weihu, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei, his old friends. By the early apocalypse, he was captain of their special-operations squad and its principal attacker. His rare Thunderstorm Ability helped the team qualify for scarce Storage Space Cards 8 10.

At H City Survivor Base, Qin Luo arranged for Xu Duoduo to become a prospective teammate. She received an apartment beside his, and he offered to help whenever she needed anything. He subsequently bought three mutant cores to welcome her into the 3A Special Operations Team 16 17 18.

Military Training and Earlier Missions

Qin Luo joined the military during a youthful period of wanting to become a hero, despite his family’s opposition. His instructors were demanding but held high expectations for him, and he rose through training alongside Wang Weihu, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei. He later came to understand his family’s concern after witnessing comrades die on actual missions, but he did not regret becoming a soldier 314 340 439.

The Four Continents Team trained and mentored the future members of 3A. Qin Luo regards its veterans as former idols and credits their wholehearted instruction with making his own team possible. Cao Wenzhou guided him during a particularly dangerous undercover mission that stopped a terrorist attack; Qin Luo nearly had his identity exposed and almost died, remembering its psychological pressure as especially severe 331 340.

His Special Operations Group had already been deployed before the apocalypse officially began. By the equipment-shopping period, its cumulative mission count exceeded three hundred, and Qin Luo had accumulated several million points, approaching ten million 58.

Separation from Xu Duoduo

Their post-graduation separation was not a complete absence of attempted contact. Qin Luo sent messages, but Xu Duoduo seldom replied while caring for her elders and working her way through school. He gradually stopped reaching out, partly because he feared that dying on a mission would leave her grieving. His own training, study, and deployments also consumed his time. Looking back, he recognizes that he had probably liked her all along but had avoided admitting it 340.

After their reunion, he recalls Team 3A’s painful early-apocalypse losses but initially keeps those memories from her. His later grief over Drunkard’s death exposes the emotional burden he usually conceals as captain 108 469.

Marriage and Later Life

After Professor Ji confirmed Xu Duoduo’s mental clarity and interest in him, Qin Luo and Xu Duoduo officially began dating. He later arranged a custom ring and fresh red roses, and she promised to marry him 151 271 279.

They registered their marriage on the anniversary of their post-apocalypse reunion. Qin Luo then accompanied her to the Research Institute because she had concealed that she was hearing things. Their wedding celebration followed later, with Wang Weihu, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei serving as groomsmen 500 501 520.

In the interstellar extras, the couple continues to share an apartment and reunites at home after a month of demanding work. Qin Luo remains closely involved with his original teammates and reprimands Chen Xiaofei for allowing a phone message to distract him during battle 524.

Personality

Qin Luo is flippant, teasing, and easily embarrassed about his feelings for Xu Duoduo. He repeatedly carries her, pokes her cheeks, and plays with her hair, explaining that teasing her feels natural because she reminds him of their school days. His friends readily provoke him into blushing, especially when they discuss his first love 5 7 8 33 36.

On duty, he becomes alert and ruthless. During the cannery night watch, he takes a central position from which he can respond to danger anywhere. His affection for Xu Duoduo does not erase his obligations: he understands that he must kill her if she loses her reason and becomes dangerous 12 14.

He strongly dislikes indecision and uncooperative civilians, but takes rescue work seriously. He gives stranded survivors clear options and promises to do everything possible to protect those traveling with his squad. He treats practical, honest survivors such as Zhao Gang and Liu Chunhui more gently than Yang Cong’s entitled group 25 27 41.

His protectiveness toward Xu Duoduo often becomes excessive. He worries about her being kidnapped, rushes her to medical care over bleeding gums, and suspects researchers of wanting to take her away. Early in their reunion, he also mistakes her attraction to his scent and desire to bite him for proof that she reciprocates his romantic feelings 27 36 43 44 49.

Despite his swagger, Qin Luo is inexperienced and unusually bashful in romance. He initially refuses to confess while Xu Duoduo remains mentally muddled, believing their relationship should be defined only when both are clearheaded. Even after they become a couple, he prefers private affection to public kissing and repeatedly seeks secluded places when they are away on missions 85 498.

He becomes jealous when others kiss or threaten to take Xu Duoduo away, but distinguishes teasing from genuine need: he allows the gravely ill Lin Qianxing to rest against her without objecting. Xu Duoduo can quickly soothe his jealousy with a kiss, often leaving him more embarrassed than before 365 389.

He is attentive in daily life, cooking, washing clothes, helping Xu Duoduo dress, arranging her hair, and carrying her when she is tired. He researches conventional date activities because he wants her to receive the same romantic experiences as other couples, even though she considers every moment with him a date 279 295 310 328 362.

His understanding of love emphasizes respect, protection, and responsibility. When Xu Duoduo worries about her condition, he explicitly promises that he will love her regardless of what happens to her 500.

Leadership and Emotional Restraint

Qin Luo places strong value on comradeship and trust. He openly thanks his mentors, supports Dai Jianmin before his teammates, and argues that soldiers must be able to entrust their backs to one another. Beneath 3A’s constant bickering, he regards Wang Weihu, Bai Shu, and Chen Xiaofei as irreplaceable childhood friends and comrades 331 335.

He is harsher on himself than on others during missions, continuing after prolonged exertion and pushing his ability even when its reserves fall to one percent. His leadership also includes teaching less experienced captains to think independently rather than rely permanently on his orders 248 426 461.

Years of military responsibility have taught him to hide grief and avoid panic so that his emotions do not endanger the team. After Drunkard’s death, Xu Duoduo’s assurance that he can share his sorrow deeply affects him. He later remains emotionally steady while supporting her through her own listlessness and distress 469 507.

Although he enjoys praise and boasts about his strength, his seventh-tier advancement does not fundamentally change his character. Professor Ji observes that he and Xu Duoduo remain grounded, while Qin Luo himself recognizes that his increasing battle excitement requires vigilance against losing control 336 346.
