Background / History

The Blood Red Nine-headed Bat King parasitized the Limit Douluo Tang Chen, turning him into the ruler known as the Slaughter King. Although Tang Chen possessed overwhelming strength, the parasitization prevented him from freely displaying his original power 104.

Through its host, the Bat King exerted control over Slaughter City. Tang Chen had completed the first seven Asura God trials and possessed an evolved God of Slaughter Domain—the Asura Domain—which was responsible for suppressing Soul Skills throughout the city 197.

Its toxin permeated the Hell Slaughter Arena whenever the Slaughter King appeared. The sweet, fishy poison intoxicated nearby Evil Soul Masters and reinforced their worship of the Slaughter King, though it was ineffective against Xu Yang because his Sun Soul Power had purified both body and spirit against poisons 104.

After Xu Yang defeated the Slaughter King and severed the hand holding the Asura Demon Sword, Tang Hao recognized that his grandfather Tang Chen had been parasitized by the Blood Red Nine-headed Bat King 197 198. Once Xu Yang took the sword, Tang Chen's body burst apart and the Bat King emerged to attack him directly 198.

Appearance

Upon leaving Tang Chen's body, the Bat King manifested as a gigantic blood-red bat.

The Bat King could inhabit and control Tang Chen's body, concealing the latter's identity beneath that of the Slaughter King.

After emerging from Tang Chen's remains, the Bat King attacked by releasing blood mist from its mouth.

Slaughter City

The Bat King's existence is initially revealed through the Slaughter King's toxin. Its poison intoxicates the Hell Slaughter Arena's Evil Soul Masters, while Tang Chen's parasitized state explains why the Slaughter King does not simply use his full Limit Douluo strength against challengers 104.

Fall of the Slaughter King

Xu Yang returns to Slaughter City seeking the Asura Demon Sword and easily defeats the Slaughter King. Tang Hao then realizes that the fallen ruler is Tang Chen, whose body has been controlled by the Blood Red Nine-headed Bat King 197 198.

After Xu Yang obtains the Asura Demon Sword, the Bat King abandons Tang Chen's body and launches a direct attack. Xu Yang immediately cuts it into two halves with a sword strike empowered by Sun True Intent and Asura True Meaning 198.
