Xu Ye picked up the note and held it to his nose. "It smells a little like paint. It isn't blood."

The lettering was exaggerated, the bottom of every character resembling dripping blood. It was rather eerie.

Alice's eyes widened, and her feline body trembled involuntarily. "Those two 'hee-hees' remind me of that deranged Reader."

"Crazy people sometimes behave alike, but who could it actually be?"

Splash-

Out on the balcony, Mo Bei lifted a washbasin and poured out the water.

Xu Ye stared at his back.

"Could it be him? He's pretty weird," Alice said suspiciously.

Xu Ye shook his head. "Probably not. He has no reason to do this, and it'd be too obvious. He might keep to himself, but I haven't had any trouble with him. The note was left on my bed, so it was aimed at me."

"A spy from the Shenchuan Family?" Alice suggested.

"That would be far too obvious a giveaway." Xu Ye frowned.

He took the note, shattered it in his hand with spiritual energy, and tossed it into the trash.

"Maybe the enemy wants to unsettle me, or maybe they have something else in mind. I'll leave it for now."

A weight settled over Xu Ye's heart.

It seemed there wasn't a single safe place in this world.

He lay down to sleep and recover his strength.

Through his drowsiness, what felt like a long time passed before Xu Ye heard the door open and woke up.

Lu Mingwang, Zhu Dalong, and Chen Qiansui returned with their arms draped over one another's shoulders. It was already past eleven at night.

Clattering sounds also came from the neighboring dorm room.

They were all energetic youths, and with training ending shortly after five, they felt life at the Training Camp was pretty relaxed.
