[Item sold]
When Ye Fei woke up that morning, he saw two notifications telling him his items had sold.
"So prices really do go up at night..."
Although he had confirmed that prices rose at night, he didn't think there was anything wrong with what he had sold during the day. After all, overthinking it wouldn't help.
But if he could figure that out, so could everyone else. Whether items sold at night would keep fetching higher prices was hard to say.
"Yip, yip~"
Little Dumpling nuzzled Ye Fei's hand. She had woken up too.
"Morning, Qingxue!"
Ye Fei stroked the little fox's head, then got out of bed. He opened the electric cooker and heated the little bit of soup left over from last night, soaking some bread in the chicken broth to fill her belly.
The bread wasn't sweet and tasted only faintly of its ingredients. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good either.
After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Ye Fei began his usual routine of sweeping the yard, then suddenly noticed the Supply Crate in his inventory.
After coming home yesterday, he had planted trees, sold things, chopped down trees...
In short, he had forgotten about it.
Once he finished sweeping the yard, he went back inside, sat on the floor, and opened the Green-Quality Supply Crate.
Green quality was much better than white, not just in quantity but in quality too.
[Supply Crate opened (green): bread +5, water +6, low-grade timber +10, low-grade fabric +10, Worn Axe]
Bread and water were still standard fare. He put them away.
He added the low-grade timber to his existing stack.
He couldn't use the fabric at the moment. Taking out a piece and unfolding it, he found it was coarse cloth.
It was square, one meter on each side.
He spread it over the bed as a sheet, but that still didn't work. The refresh countdown remained.
The Worn Axe was slightly better than the Severely Worn Axe.
The Severely Worn Axe had had 50 durability when he received it, while this Worn Axe still had 80.
"I'll buy a Semi-Finished Crafting Station first. Maybe it'll be useful."
Ye Fei opened the Survival Mall and bought the Semi-Finished Crafting Station outright.
He had 24 points in total. After spending 20, he had only 4 left.
[Semi-Finished Crafting Station: can process semi-finished products]
After buying the Crafting Bench, Ye Fei wanted to put it inside the house. Unfortunately, it was rather large, so he could only fit it in the yard.
Three meters long and two meters wide, the Crafting Bench took up one side of his yard.
The small yard was convenient to sweep, but now that he needed to put things in it, it felt rather cramped.
"Yip?"
The little white fluffball perched on Ye Fei's shoulder, looking at the big lump of metal and wondering how it had appeared.
It looks dangerous!
"This belongs to us. Don't be scared."
Ye Fei patted the little fox, whose fur had bristled, then stood in front of the Crafting Bench and opened the crafting list.
The crafting list was packed with entries, and there were more pages he could flip through. There were so many that Ye Fei felt a little overwhelmed.
For now, though, he only had the materials to craft the first few.
[Low-grade wooden wall][Low-grade wooden board][Low-grade wooden door][Low-grade wooden window][Low-grade roof ridge][Low-grade wooden roof tile]
These six items required only low-grade timber, and all of them were components for a house.
Besides those, there was one other item he could craft.
[Low-grade cloth]
It was another material. At least for now, Ye Fei couldn't see any special use for it.
He set the cloth aside for the moment. Right now, he was more concerned with building a house.
[Low-grade wooden wall: a house wall; requires 5 low-grade timber] [Low-grade wooden board: flooring and ceilings for a house; requires 4 low-grade timber] [Low-grade wooden door: a door for entering and leaving a house; requires 6 low-grade timber] [Low-grade wooden window: a house window; requires 4 low-grade timber] [Low-grade roof ridge: the ridge of a house roof; requires 6 low-grade timber] [Low-grade wooden roof tile: a house roof tile; requires 1 low-grade timber]
Ye Fei didn't know exactly how to calculate everything, but the 71 low-grade timber in his inventory were nowhere near enough.
After checking, he found that each wooden wall panel measured one meter by two meters. Even if he tried to keep things modest, each wall would still need to be five meters long.
Four walls meant 20 low-grade wooden wall panels. The walls alone would take 100 timber.
Leaving the roof ridge and tiles aside for now, a five-by-five floor required 25 boards, plus another 25 for the ceiling...
Fifty wooden boards, each requiring 4 timber-that was another 200 timber.
He couldn't go without windows, could he? Even just two windows would take 8, and a door would take another 6.
Altogether, a 25-square-meter house would require 314 timber, not counting the roof ridge and tiles...
"Qingxue, we're so poor!"
Ye Fei didn't need to agonize over what to do today anymore. He would head straight out and chop trees.
[Today's random quest: search for supplies ×3, quest progress 0/3, quest completion rewards: 3 survival points, 1 Level One Survival Pack]
Today's quest called for three Supply Crates. Ye Fei headed out with the little fox tucked into his pocket and found one right outside his home, then quickly found another two to complete the quest.
He opened the survival pack and found the same three kinds of medicine, two of each. After feeding the Heart Pills to Qingxue the Little Fox, he started chopping trees.
The dead trees he had cut down yesterday hadn't grown back. Even their stumps had been cleared away by the refresh.
Ye Fei didn't venture far this time. He stayed near his home and chopped any tree he saw.
During the day, ice and pine needles held steady at three for 1 point. Ye Fei didn't try anything different, listing them whenever he picked them up and keeping all the timber for himself.
The first tree used up what little durability yesterday's axe had left. He switched to today's new axe, and his chopping speed increased considerably.
Each dead tree yielded between 20 and 28 timber. He did the math: at an average of 25 low-grade timber per tree, he still needed to chop down ten trees.
The axe clearly didn't have enough durability, so his only option was to buy a new one with 100 durability.
Fortunately, the drops of ice and pine needles were fairly decent. Before the Worn Axe in his hand wore out, he had saved enough points for a new axe and bought one outright.
Starting at six that morning, Ye Fei chopped trees without stopping until almost noon.
When the tenth tree fell, Ye Fei had a total of 334 low-grade timber and 121 poor-quality timber in his inventory.
Back home, Ye Fei glanced at the little fox sleeping in his pocket and didn't wake her. He went straight to the Crafting Bench and selected the quantities and crafting order for everything he expected to need to build his house.
Crafting these basic items took only one minute apiece.
Even so, it would take over an hour to finish making everything he had queued up.
