Ye Fei and his companions found a cave with an abnormally hot spring where Demon Insects had already hatched and attacked players. Yang Cheng warned him about the nest and revealed that he had brought Lin Mu to Ye Fei’s home; Yang Cheng had also asked Lin Mu for help, setting up their likely reunion.
Ye Fei confronted Lin Mu over their past and the cursed Demon Insect Lin Mu had left near his home, then demanded compensation. Lin Mu handed over a Heavenly Spirit Pearl and an Earth Spirit Pearl, wary of the Phoenix and Little Phoenix.
Ye Fei collected compensation from Lin Mu and heard him confess how he had repeatedly tricked him, then agreed to return the next morning to deal with the Demon Insects. As Ye Fei headed home, he reflected on Lin Mu’s Dark Phoenix cultivation and how humans could avoid bloodline suppression by becoming half-demons.
Ye Fei brought Jun Mo home after warning him about the dangers that emerged at night, and Jun Mo asked permission to fight back against Eclipse Moon. The chapter ended with Jun Mo and Eclipse Moon happily having a snowball fight outside while Ye Fei prepared dinner.
Feng An told Ye Fei that the Demon Insects in the Ant King's nest were held back by the Ant King's formations, and Ye Fei planned to approach the area carefully. Jun Mo agreed to join Ye Fei the next morning to face the Demon Insects, and the chapter ended with Ye Fei showing him the Spirit Fruits growing at home.
Jun Mo discovered that Ye Fei’s Phoenix Tree greatly increased the Red-Scaled Fruit harvest, but learned that ordinary trees would produce far less and take much longer to ripen. After Jun Mo went home, Ye Fei shared the fruit with companions and stored the rest for his animals rather than selling it.
Ye Fei shared Red-Scaled Fruits with friends, and Lu Heng eagerly prepared to test their effects against Mutation Beasts. Jun Mo visited Ye Fei for breakfast and fussed over Lingxu, while he and Ye Fei reflected on the affection and care they found in their households.
Ye Fei met Lin Mu at the demon insect cave and negotiated who would bear the danger and receive the rewards for killing the insects. While Lin Mu arranged the terms, Jun Mo warned Ye Fei that Lin Mu seemed likely to be badly hurt, and Ye Fei learned about Jun Mo’s new technique.
Lin Mu prepared a sealing formation to draw demon insects out of the cave so the players could attack them for rewards, while Ye Fei and Jun Mo stood ready. The first three demon insects emerged, but the players held back to see whether attacking them would cause harm.
Ye Fei tested the Demon Phosphorus Butterflies’ dangerous abilities and showed the group that they could be killed safely with the right defenses. After Jun Mo killed one with his Golden Light Shield, the others prepared to fight the remaining insects as Ye Fei rested with Little Phoenix.
Ye Fei and Jun Mo faced a controlled player whose attack had nearly hit Ye Fei, while Yang Cheng argued that the man could still be saved. As Jun Mo prepared to fight a Pink Insect, Ye Fei waited for the Demon Insect inside the player to emerge, and Lin Mu recalled how dangerous Ye Fei had once been when drunk.
Ye Fei and Jun Mo watched a Demon Insect revive after its first death, while Yang Cheng’s group waited for another insect to emerge from a player’s head. The level 5 Demon Insect burst out and killed two players, leaving Ye Fei readying an arrow as it fed on their corpses.
Ye Fei used the Dragon Spirit Arrow and Little Phoenix’s lightning to defeat the Demon Insect while Lin Mu maintained the formation. As Little Phoenix prepared to eat the creature, Jun Mo questioned Ye Fei and Lin Mu’s relationship, and Lin Mu insisted they were enemies.
Ye Fei and his companions drove away Yang Cheng’s group while Lin Mu maintained the Formation around the Demon Insects. After the group departed, Lin Mu revealed that he had been hiding his strength, and the team prepared to demolish the cave rather than enter it.
Ye Fei had Jun Mo blast open the cave so he could gather the Demon Insects and claim the Hot Spring reward, while Lin Mu agreed to handle the danger. The explosion tore through the mountainside, leaving Ye Fei and the others staring at a red garment drifting through the flames.
Ye Fei and the others fought the demon insects crawling from the newly opened cave entrance, then rested and shared food while Little Phoenix ate its fill. With about two hours remaining, they decided to keep blasting the cave open to give themselves more room and stay safer.
Ye Fei and Jun Mo arranged explosives in a formation to open the ground and reach the hot spring, but the blast released demon insects that attacked them. After Little Phoenix devoured several insects, Ye Fei spotted a moving danger in the hot spring below.
Ye Fei used the Blood Grave Mantis’s damage-sharing ability to train his body by having Little Phoenix strike it with lightning while he healed himself. He collapsed from prolonged numbness as Jun Mo brought the injured Lin Mu back, and Little Fox hurried to shield Ye Fei from view.
After the Hot Spring was dealt with, Ye Fei recovered while Lin Mu and Jun Mo negotiated over the water spirit reward. Jun Mo acquired it by trading Lin Mu an annotated Formation guide and three thousand portions of Explosives.
After the Lin Family’s formation dissolved, Lin Mu subdued his half brother and returned to his family’s territory. Ye Fei and Feng An discussed Jun Mo’s plans to bring Lingxu home and how the pets around them behaved like family.
Ye Fei spotted players heading toward the Ant Nest after Lin Mu misled them into thinking he and Jun Mo were badly injured. He ignored the brewing attack and continued searching for hot springs, while Feng An watched to see what would happen.
After Jun Mo took the little Jiaoren home, Ye Fei’s Phoenix Tree burned the pool dry, apparently to remove the sea creature’s scent. Feng An refilled the pool with Spirit Spring water, and Ye Fei let his little ones play in it while he stayed out.
Ye Fei watched his companions share Spirit Pearls and gave Fire Dance a bead of demonic energy before settling down to cultivate. The next morning, Jun Mo warned him that Little Phoenix was being bullied, and Ye Fei found a lightning-wreathed Phoenix fighting a snake outside his courtyard.
Ye Fei and Jun Mo watched Little Phoenix battle Feng An while discussing Jun Mo’s vision of the Phoenix Tree being chopped down. After Big Cat revealed it liked water when it played in Ye Fei’s pool without the Jiaoren, Ye Fei noticed Fire Dance had changed and wondered if its lightning-and-fire phoenix form worked like a mecha.
After Little Phoenix killed the snake Feng An had sent, Ye Fei harvested its materials and later checked how his pets had changed after evolving. The chapter ended with Fire Dance explaining that Phoenix Perch kept its refined leaves hidden and only exploded ordinary fireballs disguised as leaves.
