After finding evidence of a mysterious organization, he went with two students into the university’s Back Mountain, where the little girl began emerging from the hammer again.

• Jiang Chen watched the little girl from his sledgehammer devour Ghost Dad and Ghost Mom, then realized she seemed afraid of him while he held the hammer.
• Jiang Chen decided the hammer could absorb ghosts and that he needed to use ghosts to fight ghosts, so he carried it to Luoshan University to investigate his parents’ deaths.
• Jiang Chen entered the underground parking garage at dusk, found a hidden path to a dug-up grave and a corpse, and discovered an identification emblem linked to a mysterious organization.
• The little girl helped Jiang Chen escape the underground garage, but he left with only a vague lead connecting his parents’ deaths to the organization.
• Jiang Chen encountered a couple on campus after one in the morning and followed them to the secluded Back Mountain, where a pale hand reached out from his hammer.

Over several months, Jiang Chen grew into the strongest Ghost Master in the city, fighting paranormal threats and the Sinful Immortals while turning ghosts into his family. He reached the Sinful Immortals' headquarters and discovered that the mastermind behind the ghostly resurgence looked exactly like him and claimed to have once been his shadow.

• Jiang Chen built his strength by devouring ghosts with the Ghost God Hammer, becoming notorious among Ghost Masters and investigating why the ghosts felt like family to him.
• Jiang Chen learned that the Sinful Immortals had murdered his parents and begun probing the source of the ghostly resurgence, so he resolved to stop them.

Jiang Chen recovered his lost memories and learned that Dream Country had once been the source of the Restricted Zones’ evil will. Realizing the ownerless Dream Country was a fortune left for him by the five supreme Immortal Lords, he began plundering it.

• Jiang Chen endured a flood of memories and finally broke free of Dream Country’s repeating lives.
• Jiang Xiao Chen explained that Jiang Chen had lived sixteen lifetimes and that his memories had to awaken him from within.

Jiang Chen and Jiang Xiao Chen escaped Dream Country and returned to a transformed Blue Star, where Jiang Chen discovered that his power could threaten the dying Heavenly Dao. They reached Shengzai City, where Jiang Chen dealt with people falsely claiming to be his distant disciples and attracted the attention of powerful law enforcers.

• Dream Country collapsed, and Jiang Chen recovered at least half his power before realizing that his full aura nearly shattered the Heavenly Dao.
• Jiang Chen sealed away his power and explained to Jiang Xiao Chen that they needed to familiarize themselves with the Mortal World again.
• After walking for seven days, Jiang Chen and Jiang Xiao Chen reached Shengzai City in the Reincarnation Heavenly Kingdom and marveled at its blend of cultivation and technology.
• Jiang Xiao Chen pointed out people wearing signs that called them King Chen's distant disciples, and Jiang Chen ordered two Supreme Powerhouse-level Weird Objects to beat them and confiscate the signs.

The Shengzai City Reincarnation Branch Bureau discovered Jiang Chen and Jiang Xiao Chen and summoned the Reincarnation Heavenly Kingdom’s Old Ancestors to investigate. When the Old Ancestors recognized King Chen, they quietly accompanied him on his train journey, and a law enforcer’s attempt to impress him nearly caused disaster.

• The branch captain sensed Jiang Chen and Jiang Xiao Chen’s strength and called for the director, who went to the Reincarnation Sanctuary for guidance.
• After questioning the director about the men, the Old Ancestors recognized King Chen and hurried to meet him.
• The Old Ancestors found Jiang Chen and Jiang Xiao Chen aboard a train and followed them discreetly, while the director struggled to understand their reverence for the travelers.
• A thief tried to rob Jiang Chen, but a Reincarnation Heavenly Kingdom law enforcer attacked him and threw him off the train.

Jiang Chen traveled through the Reincarnation Heavenly Kingdom, the Dark Curtain Royal Court, and the Pure Land, urging former fence-sitters to choose a side before the final battle. The Old Antiques pledged to fight alongside him, but before he could reach the Nine Provinces, enormous portals opened and the final battle began.

• Jiang Chen crossed the Reincarnation Heavenly Kingdom and warned its Old Ancestors that they would have to choose a side when disaster came.
• Jiang Chen traveled through the Dark Curtain Royal Court, where the Netherworld Throne and the other King Venerables fled after learning of his arrival.

The Great Tribulation began as the Restricted Zones opened and Forbidden beings poured into the sky above the Nine Provinces. Tie Zhu, the Nine Provinces’ forces, the Old Antiques, the former Reincarnators, and King You turned the battle in humanity’s favor, but five Weird Ancestors then emerged from the Five Restricted Zones.

• Tie Zhu and the leaders of the Nine Provinces gathered as Restricted Zones appeared in the sky, and Po Jun warned that the catastrophe might exceed their expectations.
• The Restricted Zones’ gates were blasted open, releasing Forbidden beings, and Tie Zhu killed one as the Earth Immortals and Dao Masters joined the fight.
• Xiao Ji and Lin Xiao led the Old Antiques into battle, while the former Reincarnators arrived from the north and fought alongside the Nine Provinces.
• King You revealed himself as the Netherworld Throne, an Ancestor, and helped turn the fighting into a hunt for the Forbidden beings.

Jiang Chen returned at the height of the battle, destroyed the Restricted Zones, and killed the Weird Ancestors, ending the calamity. He restored the Heavenly Dao and used its power to resurrect those who had died fighting the Restricted Zones, then reunited with his old friends.

• Tie Zhu led the Nine Provinces’ fighters against the Weird Ancestors, but five more emerged from the Restricted Zones and overwhelmed them.
