Yamabuki Chidori coughed softly. It seemed what she had taught yesterday would come in handy today.
Batman waited silently in the tree. At last, Aizen's Reiatsu grew weaker and weaker until it was almost impossible to sense.
The weaker a Soul Reaper's Reiatsu was, the more severe their injuries were.
In the end, Aizen's Reiatsu disappeared completely.
"Ahahaha! Kid, you finally couldn't hold on any longer!" Batman was delighted. Tonight's dinner was going to be quite the feast.
However, Batman still did not attack rashly. What if the kid was lying on the ground playing dead? I'll wait a little longer. Another half hour. No matter what, he'll be dead as a doornail by then. Then I can enjoy this meal at my leisure.
Batman crouched quietly on the branch and waited. A hunter had to have enough patience.
Aizen's Reiatsu grew weaker and weaker until it vanished completely. That meant his life had reached its end.
Even so, Batman silently remained on the branch for another half hour. Only after confirming that his opponent was thoroughly dead did he cautiously climb down, ready to enjoy his feast.
"Kid, don't blame me. In an environment like this, if you make an enemy of me, forget you—even those so-called Captains of yours wouldn't stand a chance against me." Batman swaggered over to Aizen's corpse and boasted loudly.
"I don't think so." Aizen's voice rang out without warning. Batman froze for a moment, and the next second, a lightning-fast Swift Sword pierced straight through his body.
"My Teacher was right. Once one side gains the upper hand in battle, they inevitably become complacent. You were too arrogant." Aizen's grating voice reached Batman's ears.

"Impossible! Why can you still move after being poisoned by me?
